  1. My kids realy like that Darth Brabo.. any chance there will be spare posters available at the event?
  2. ... and people who lived in Belgium during the 50's, 60's or 70's are surely reminded of the Tigra girl, the image of a cigarettes brand. Apparently the woman who modelled for this was, years later, found murdered, ...a crime that never was solved... scary story.. Unknowingly, Lego realy did step down from their "moral highground" here... Still a nice figure though..
  3. Can anyone (re)post a picture or a link to the latest Decool superheroes leaflet? I thought I have seen it here somewhere in the thread, but cannot find it back. My orders from China always come in the plastic bags, no box, no leaflet. Just want to recapitulate what I am still missing and what is coming up in the near future..
  4. My wallet hates you for posting that picture!.. :-) The images of the new 75094 Tydirium already looked tempting, but the pricetag didn't really convince me, so I was considering to restore my old 7264, who has quite some yellowed parts.. But now seeing them side by side, I am sure I will send the Tydirium the clearance codes, so it can land in my collection..
  5. Without any doubt, the sets of the GotG sub-theme. Or at least the Milano, the Rocket polybag and the Starblaster Showdown sets. Only the Knowhere Escape didn't convince me, despite the figs. In fact, although I only have a limited interest in the Superheroes theme, I rank the GotG, together with some Ultra Agents, among the best Lego released in 2014
  6. I have read already several posts from people who would like a Steve Rogers or a Bruce Banner fig... ??? What am i missing here? I can only imagine them as a minifigure in city clothes... what is so special about that?, that it cannot be done with just a random torso / legs combination? Now if it were a fig depicting Banners transformation into Hulk, with e.g. a torn shirt and his face turning green ( a bit like the Clark Kent fig ) I could understand... But just a civilian fig? I do not realy get this... Here in Belgium we didn't have GotG in the 2014 catalogue neither. This happened with other superheroes sets / lines in the past too.. For some reason Lego doesn't sell their complete range in the main toy stores in some countries.. Lucky we have an official Lego shop since last year.. ( and there is of course the net too.. TLG still seems to have problems understanding what "global market" means.. )
  7. Really liking the looks of the Quinjet. I missed the old one; it wasn't a priority buy for me, so I kept postponing it untill it wasn't available anymore. But this one is a must buy.. I don't understand people complaining about the fact that we get, again, one. Yes, it is another quinjet.. or at least its a plane that bears the same name, but the design is completely different. A lot sleeker. The old one looked like a cargo plane, this is a stealth attack plane.. And.. yes we already had Hawkeye in a vehicle ( a blue pickup) , but this time it's a different looking Hawkeye in a black jeep.. Really, I do not know what people are hoping for, but besides cars, planes, part of a building... what else could Lego offer within their price tags? Taking into account that they also have to follow a bit the movies / license guidelines... If they don't there are complaints too. Remember the Mandarins fire breathing golfcart.. For army building reasons it's a pitty that the Hydra vehicles and soldiers follow another color scheme again; not the dark colors seen in CA1 or the green comics looks from the Red Skull set.. but I suppose this is due to their AoU movie appearance too.. Not sure about the fortress set yet, but the Hydra duel set (with the jeep and the buggy) looks pretty acceptable for its price tag.. The hulkbuster set doesn't look that overwhelming to me, but this will be the cheapest way so far to get an official bigfig hulk. For about double the price one pays on Bricklink (europe) for a purple pants hulk, you will get now Hulk, a decent mini mech, and a handfull of interesting minifigs... seems to be the definition of a no-brainer. The tower set seems to represent the shape of the Stark Avengers tower rather well, but combined with the figs / as a playset it looks odd. I.m.o. it would look a lot better still if it was done in a kind of architecture style... Almost sure I ll pass and try to source a couple of those iron legion bots elsewhere.. The sub-ultron soldiers seem to have an interesting headpiece.. , and I usually pick up at least 1 of the smallest sets / battlepacks anyway..
  8. Apparently another set where the minigfigs are the selling factor. The model itself isn't bad, but I still prefer the real TIE advanced.. ;despite maybe some more advance building techniques or pieces might have been used for this "prototype" compared to the 8017. However, aprox 50 euros seems a lot of money for a ship this size... The central bankers in europe are praying for some inflation,.. Lego is only trying to help them a bit I guess..
  9. A tough call between between the alien, snake charmer or goblin. I welcome every new alien head(mold), but the series 6 grey alien, ser 8 AQ queen or even the ser3 green alien (as a herald for AQ) pleased and surprised me a bit more. I guess most peoples favourite will be the goblin, for obvious reasons.. and I fear he will be as sought after as the series 2 elf.. army build by castle and LotR fans.. lets hope Lego doesn't make it one of the rare ones in the box. But finally I chose the snakecharmer as favourite. A nice looking figure, pleasing color combo and having some interesting new accessories ( turban and snake). Awaiting your tradidtional review WF, usually they reveal some still unknown details..
  10. Overall a very nice series.. but 3 euro a piece? I guess this will be the first series I am not going to complete.. and limit the amount of multiples too..
  11. Great idea and execution DanSto. That slide is hilarious.. Those troopers must literally feel like shit when being deployed on the battlefield.. After the ST-ST "Chicken Walker", the AT-AT "Camel" or "Cow" as my children call it, we have the AT-DT ; nicknamed the "Trooper Pooper"..
  12. Great show again BeLug. I spent a interesting and inspiring afternoon there this weekend. Nice idea to give a goody bag to the visiting children too, my son was realy pleased with it.
  13. My son has marked the dates on the calendar... so I guess I' ll have to surrender..
  14. What a nice tribute to one of Lego greatest (super)-heroes Peppermint-M. I was in my dark ages when Johnny and his friends travelled the world, but once I discovered Bricklink, one of my first "projects" was building a collection of adventurers minifigs, (and some sets). Maybe the fact that seeing the IJ sets got me out of my dark ages had something to do with that?
  15. Up till now I am loyal to Lego when it comes to sets and loose parts for my own (AFOL) purposes. I do buy from other suppliers sometimes, e.g. Brickarms, but I do not see them as clone brands, since they deliver parts TLG doesn't produce. However, lately I am more and more turning to actual clone brands because imho Lego fails to be what it is supposed to be : a kid's toy. I still might buy (on sale) a missing set for my AFOL SW OT collection, or a set that is a good parts pack for its price.. But paying ridiculous prices for a poorly designed licensed set, who's only reason to exist, and only reason why the kids want that set, are the included minifigs.. I don't do that anymore. One can of course try to get the desired figures from bricklink, which I sometimes do. But though paying between 10 -20 euros for a 1.5 inch, 10 g plastic fig can be "justified" when you see it as an addition to an (adults) collection, it becomes another story when you see it as a toy which will be tossed around and engage in "combat".. Which is what my 9 and 11 year old boys, as most kids I guess, do with their figures.. So if I can get then a 6 or 8 figs set from a knock off brand, for about half the price of 1 legit figure, its an easy decision..
  16. The Decool GotG figs seems to have reached ebay now... but still with a "premiere" price tag.. Up till now also only showing images of the boxes. Has anybody allready seen pics of the figs themselves?
  17. True.. but on the other hand: all those kids wanting stormtroopers after seeing the Rebels show would probably not distinguish between the classic OT and the Rebel stormtroopers. They would want the BP anyway. So offering OT or Rebels style wouldn't make any difference when it comes to sales to the core market (kids / boys). However, making them OT would mean an additional sale to the AFOL/ collectors public. True, they only represent a small % of the market, but many AFOL SW fans would probably buy multiples of the BP, whereas most kids are limited by their pocket money budget. Again, we are only talking about some % here, but these days a lot of sales responsables would kill to see a rise in sales of 2 or 3%..
  18. It seems Halloween is approaching; the horror, the horror !!! I must say though that I have been pleasantly surprised a couple of times (not allways) by Decool and SY figures. Specially the Hulk and Thing bigfigs, and some Iron man variations... Waiting for the Punisher set to arrive in my mailbox now. Can somebody enlighten me on the source for the SY? version Black Widow? It clearly isn't based on the Lego one; is it good quality wise? And have the latests SY Fantastic4 or the GotG set been seen on ebay yet?
  19. You have instructions or a LDD file for that second build to share with us vitreolum? .. It looks quiet well in this picture.. but I guess its just a thing that can be done one time.. if somebody tries to copy it, this novelty technique won't work anymore
  20. Not at all.. that is like getting the 79015's for free..
  21. Feathers?? In a barber shop??? You being an australian must know that real men don't use feathers to shave...
  22. In fact, what was said was : " I am not sure what to think about the Tusken though.. I welcome the fact that the head is done with a new mold, giving details as the goggles and the spikes on the head.. but, at least on the pictures, it seems to big.. inflated.. a balloon head. I'll have to hold one in order to make a final judgement, but I am glad I kept my original 2002 Tuskens" Seems like an elaborated opinion to me.. adding arguments to the discussion.. on topic even. People critisizing new sets instead of just uttering "awesome!" "I NEED this!!!!!" are as big a Lego fan as most on EB.. But being a Lego fan doesn't mean blind adoration for everything coming from Billund..
  23. Who would have imagined it..., but after being disapointed about next years SW sets, this elves line is a pleasant surprise. Not that I am that much excited by the theme itself, and I couldn't care less about the minidolls (though I wouldn't mind to see some of the characters in minifig form), but in a way these sets are refreshing. I especially like all the new colors of foliage. And a couple of extra purple and pink(ish) slopes and arches are allways welcome too. Friends allready added some interesting new colors, but the palette of this elves theme seems even better. Really great part packs for alien mocs or adding details and highlights to grey or tan builds.. I wonder how these hairpieces will look on flesh minifigs..
  24. These pictures confirm what I already suspected after seeing the prelims.. a big part of my Lego budget will not be spent on Star Wars next year. 75078 : When I first heard about the ITT, I was planning to buy mutiples of the battlepack, in order to expand my actual stormtrooper army .. platoon.. to a small batallion. But though my stormies are already a motley crew, ranging from the 2002 yellow heads until the 2013 Endor battlepack version, I am not willing to put Droopy faces into the blend.. I just find them to far off. 75079 : I like those black guards... though not neceseraly to be used as SW figures.. 1 pack will be enough 75088 : Senate commandos?.. wtf are those? I am not realy a PT fan, but if they looked anything like the blue senate guards seen behind Palpatine in Phantom Menace I would buy a couple of them, but as they are represented here.. pass.. 75089 : Geonosis troopers ... mmm, ok. I don't know what they have to do with SW, but parts of the figs might be usefull as military in general.. 75090 : Speeder bike... only reason I was eventually interested in this one was because of the colorfull Mandalorian outfit.. but without the signature helmet, I see no reason to get this set. 75086 : droid carrier ; as said before; I am not really a big PT fan and have no need for a droid army.. I still have the 7126.. that is enough. 75084 : Wookiee gunship.. excuse me? What has this thing to do with the typical steampunk-meets-organic style of the Wookiee technology? Just seems a rehash of a republic gunship.. 75080 : AAT .. a PT vehicle I do like, but I missed the Y2K one. I read a lot of complaints that it is to small, but I allways had the impresion that the CW version was to big. This one might even be at scale.. I ll have to see it build and depending on the pricetag / sale, I might get one for my little Theed setup. Wondering if there will be an update of the 7124 Flash speeder too.. 75082 TIE prototype & 75083 AT-DP ; interesting and couple of nice minifigs. But no must haves though.. maybe if I find them on a good sale.. ( not likely in Belgium / Europe) 75081 : I missed the original one, so the T16 is a gap in my OT collection I want to fill. I am not sure what to think about the Tusken though.. I welcome the fact that the head is done with a new mold, giving details as the goggles and the spikes on the head.. but, at least on the pictures, it seems to big.. inflated.. a balloon head. I'll have to hold one in order to make a final judgement, but I am glad I kept my original 2002 Tuskens Microfighters : this wave looks a bit bland compared to the previous one. I only like the design of the 75074 Snowspeeder, and it comes with a new variation of a rebel pilot / helmet.. Well, in 2015 I might get the Sandcrawler as a little treat for myself.. without feeling to guilty for overspending on Lego SW afterall
