  1. I really like that. Has made me really want to spend more time working on my own designs - probably without PF in them this time haha
  2. When I found the shock absorbers in the box from ebay I just couldnt help myself. I must admit that it is an extremely weak point and the rear suspension over the drive wheels doesnt actually do anything at all - the suspension runs up to the red bars covering the battery box and that links back to the same rigid frame the bottom of the absorbers is connected too haha. The steering just about works, but tends to skip a lot, which I think is due to the ridiculous design of my suspension haha
  3. That's gonna be massive lol Cant wait to see more work done on it.
  4. That is really nice, I'm still trying to get used to studless too so I know your pain. I dont suppose you have a video of it in action?
  5. This is as far as this particular design is going: There is absolutely no design what so ever for the end result, purely a test piece to work to work out how to do things
  6. I've had a look at the model again and realised one of the weak spots was my own fault, I forgot to push two rods in which help to hold the turntable section in. And for my own peace I have also added 2 1x8 strips to the front and back of the turn tables base to give it a little extra strength and I think its worked: The thing hanging from the front is the MOC (well technical exercise) I am working on and is completely clear of the floor - around 1-2mm - and has been hanging there for around 5mins now. I dont dare extend the boom on the truck, but I'm happy with its strength as that model I'm building is getting pretty heavy lol
  7. Nice video. Have you tested its ability to grip/lift anything yet?
  8. I just received the Pneumatic set 8854, and the model looks great, but it is seriously lacking in strength for the lift arm turntable, it becomes loose as soon as you raise and extend the arm, let alone adding any weight to crane :-( I still like it though, I and gonna see if there is anything I can do to help that problem. I am over the moon with the ebay seller though as there were 12 shock absorbers as well as an assortment of extra cogs, studded bricks, studless 1x7 bent lift arms :-) I have already removed 2 of the 3 universal joints in place of normal connecting collars so I can use them elsewhere haha
  9. That is very kool, although I think the two men on the roof are about to have a free flying lesson
  10. A good way to increase your count is to look at other peoples post and make comments/ask questions etc. Can't wait to see your work
  11. Can someone point me to some how to designs for steering racks?
  12. Support added, I've basically said that seeing other GBC designs I would love to get involved, but the lack of balls makes it hard lol
  13. Something like this? Its larger than your model as I dont have the smaller "twisting link" thingy, tomorrow I will have a 2nd one when the postman turns up as I got a complete 8854 set nice and cheap. All I need to do now is work out how to attach that to the model and giving some steering lol
  14. Thats really nice, cant wait for it to be completed and see a video of it in action
  15. D'oh! I was watching its head/neck and tail so much I didn't notice the knees bending haha I like it even more now!
  16. Does anyone know if the legs were flexible too? I know that the set is not designed to move the legs, but it would be an interesting MOC of the set/another design
  17. I think he meant "the stud parts don't suit it either" - the mix of studded and studless, but if you dont have enough spare studless I dont see a problem with it
  18. That explains why is shot across the living room floor and straight in to the door when I let it go haha I'm gonna have a look for a system that allows steering of the front wheels - possible return to centre if I have the parts/technical ability to - not sure if I can keep it as 4WD though lol I also want to try and add some sort of suspension system at some point, but that might have to wait until I have more parts/sets
  19. I've seen that before, but never thought much of it, but seeing the video makes me want one, its such a smooth system.
  20. I have loved watching videos of the machines that use them and always thought they came from some other toy set or something lol. I'll happily add my support to Cuusoo for the project, but have no idea what sort of value to put on them, any hints?
  21. Thats really nice, cant wait to see it completed
  22. They are nice MOCs. I love the baby unimog in front of the big daddy one
  23. The set up allows for 4wd, clearly it has no steering at the moment, but that is beside the point If I'm right the gearing has been up-rated, but thats because I only have 1 of the larger gears, which wont be a problem when its converted to 2wd for the working model. This is my first step in to MOCing and would appreciate confirmation I did it correctly lol
  24. As you all know I am new to MOCing etc and was wondering if, assuming there isnt a list already, someone to tell me all of the basics that people should know when MOCing. I know that there are some fantastic designs out there, and what I am looking for is designs for gearing for axles, steering set ups, I'm sure I have seen a linear actuator somewhere, raisers (or what ever they are called - the things to raise an arm on a pivot e.g. cranes etc). And anything else that is important to know.
