  1. I've seen these small sets in my local Daiso store about a year or so ago at the toy section. Haven't been paying much attention to it nor looking since then. Don't know much about the quality of the bricks...
  2. Thanks for the response! I actually need hard copies of Hispabrick magazines for my personal library. Unfortunately, I can't speak nor understand Spanish so ordering through Bubok is out of the question. I recall contacting an editor of the magazine before asking how to place an order but can't find his e-mail anymore... Need more help!
  3. Hello everyone, Need help on how to buy Hispabrick Magazines (Issues 1-9). Please let me know and thanks!
  4. ...and stockpiled it is!... there are three Target stores within 30 minutes' drive away from where I live so last Sunday, I 'visited' two of the three stores... the first store have around 40-50 of each BF sets and the second store have 50-60 of each sets... ...an interesting observation, I saw a lady bought a space police set... I wonder if she knows that the price of that set will be 35% less in ten days... ...I'm a bit disappointed on this considering the Target stores near me have done what TRU has done... increase the price of each and every set from $3-12, depending on the size... will just wait for a better deal next time...
  5. I will confirm Prozac's statement... I did see the X-Wing, too, in my Target store... and LOTS of them... selling for $2.99 when I checked the price but the tag on the shelf said $3.49...
  6. ...I first saw both Stormtrooper and Darth Vader alarm clocks on eBay a few weeks ago (selling for US$49.99 each plus shipping), so I checked the internet (out of curiosity of how much it really cost). Found it on Amazon.Com for US$29.99 each, no sales tax and no shipping. Bought the Stormtrooper for myself and Darth Vader for my wife (birthday gift). Will open both around Christmas-time. So if you don't have a K-Mart nearby, your best best is to buy it online. Hope this helps to those who wants one or two...
  7. There are two Costco near where I live and both stores have stocks of the said Lego Star Wars sets. The price is $48.99 or something, each set; so it's still cheaper than ordering online. Hope this helps!
  8. ...buying 16 minifigs from S@H is like the lotto or the sweapstakes... you'll never know if you're going to win or not, how much or none at all... same with the minifigs... you can get lucky or not, depending on which ones you'd like to have. With Series 1, I was lucky enough to get 3 clowns in my order (unfortunately no cheerleader or skateboarder which I have to buy online at a ridiculous price to complete a set). With series 2 (16 minifigs total), I got 1 each of the pharaoh & roman soldier to complete the set. So, good luck!...
  9. Hopefully this will help... my daughter picked one up at the Lego store in Downtown Disney today, of all places. Lucky I guess. Also, checking the Lego website, it is listed as available with a price of US$29.99 (I think).
  10. I went to the nearest Lego store this afternoon and saw the new City/Train sets already on the shelves. No minifigs. When I inquired, I was told that 3 boxes are going to be available come Monday morning but this is the last shipment this store is getting. I'm still 5 minifigs short of having a complete set. Next stop was TRU but have none either. Will check Borders on Saturday. For those who's S@H orders were processed, good for you. I placed my online order Monday morning and got the cancellation notice Wednesday evening. As I always say, you win some-you loose some.
  11. I hate to be the bearer of bad news... Two days ago, I placed my 3rd order at S@H for the minifigs. My online order was accepted and confirmed. Then yesterday, I received an e-mail, stating that my order of 5 minifigs was cancelled with no explanation at all (I did order 2 other smaller sets - these were shipped according to a separate e-mail). So this morning, I called S@H to find out what the reason of the cancellation is. I was told that S@H limits purchases of 5 minifigs per household, not per order. Huh!? And when I informed the person I was talking to that this was the only way I can buy them, he said that the limit of 5 per household was lifted yesterday but then they sold out and so the cancellation of my order. What in the name of...!? I really don't buy this crap (and I mean CRAP! - I rarely get frustrated) because I was able to place 2 separate orders in the past for the minifigs (see my earlier postings in this thread). I apologize to ALL TLG/S@H employees who does their job wonderfully for this outburst. So there you have it folks... Any of you guys/gals had the same experience and what alibi were you told by the S@H employee you spoke to?
  12. My 2nd order of 5 packets arrived today from S@H. 1st packet=Ninja, 2nd packet=Ninja, 3rd packet=Indian, 4th packet=Robot and 5th packet=Forestman. Time to place another order at S@H. Still need 5 minifigs to complete a set.
  13. My first order of 5 packets arrived today from S@H. 1st packet=clown, 2nd packet=clown, 3rd packet=indian, 4th packet=spaceman and 5th packet=clown. That's 3 clowns, an indian and a spaceman. Although I'm happy that I got the clown (these are my first), I already have the indian and spaceman. I'll be waiting for my second order, hopefully arriving in the next few days. I still need 7 figures to complete a set. Is it worth placing one or two more orders at S@H?
  14. First time I've heard of this Tower Bridge set was about a week ago, from a Lego store employee. They already have it on hand to build as a store display. No word as to when it'll be out for public display. I suggest for those who lives near a Lego store to keep an eye open if you'd like to see this new set in person...
  15. I placed 2 separate orders for the minifigs (5 per order). Both orders will be arriving most likely next week. Will keep you posted on the first 5 I get... Cross my fingers! I'm sorry to hear about your dilemma. Anybody else who has the same experience with S@H? Let's hear it here.
  16. Can't seem to get this at my Lego store (I was told it's always sold out the first day it's stocked), so I placed 2 separate orders at S@H. Still waiting for my first order to arrive (orders placed in a week's interval). Three weeks ago, I found these at TRU for $1.99, I bought 8 packs. At that time, there were at least a box and a half but I recon, let others have the chance to buy some. Last week when I went back (they're sold out, that's because this guy who got there ahead of me bought the whole, unopened box!), the price has gone up to $2.49 per pack. Good luck to all of us who hasn't completed a set yet.
  17. Great observation! Keen eyesight! I got my first 8 packs of minifigs yesterday and didn't notice a thing! Getting old, I guess. I'm just happy that TLC's giving us something new and add to each and everyone's collection.
  18. I'd say give yourself until December (no later) to purchase the Fire Brigade and mid next year for the Grand Emporium. You should've saved enough funds by then. I myself have a budget for my Lego purchases and have kept track of how much I spend each month/year. I found out immediately that my initial budget for Lego was not enough, so I doubled that amount each year divided into 12 months. Taking 2009 as an example, I went over 250% of my new budget. As for this year, I've spent a few hundred dollars over compared to last year's first four months! There are just so many beautiful and interesting sets, I can't help myself not buying. Good luck and play well!
  19. During my early years of collecting bulk Lego and not paying attention to non-Lego bricks, it didn't really bothered me that much. But as I got educated afterwards, I went back and started separating the non-Lego bricks and donated most of it to the Salvation Army. Since that day, every time I encounter a non-Lego brick on a new acquisition, it goes directly to the trash.
  20. I just tell myself that, "it's all in a day's work" when sorting/looking for a specific part(s)... to eliminate frustration.
  21. I'm not sure where your location is... city, country... but here in northern California, USA, I have not seen this set in the stores (Target, Walmart, Toys R' Us and Lego brand store) since October or November of 2009. My suggestion is for you to buy one if you do see it, funds allowing... Good luck!
  22. I also live in the SF/Bay Area, It was my day off yesterday and visited the Target store at Serramonte Mall in Daly City. Found the 2 City and Duplo sets but not Star Wars. Next stop was the Target store in Colma... jackpot! As expected, there were less than 5 of each of the Star Wars sets, but plentiful of the City and Duplo sets. Didn't go to the one in Tanforan Park Mall... For those of you who missed out, try tomorrow (Sunday) real early. A restock might be in progress tonight. Good luck to all you hunters out there.
  23. Done...

    Should I?

I say, go ahead and cut it. The minifig is more expensive than the keychain version. Who knows, maybe in the near future you'd be able to buy a new keychain which is much cheaper than the current price of 20 pounds for a minifig. Good luck!
  25. When I consider an order or a package important or valuable, I make sure that it is insured (if possible), even if I have to pay extra - postal service or have a tracking number - UPS; this way I don't have to think too much about it not reaching me. Then I tell myself to have patience by not counting the days. It helps to condition your mind - waiting at times stresses the mind and the body. Try to relax and think positive.
