  1. Hello everyone, This polybag review ought to be shared with all of you in a few months ago, since my last visit to LEGOLAND Malaysia in September 2013 and this polybag was part of my shopping basket. I am pleased to pick this up quickly and polybags do not come so easily at times, so I just pick it without hesitation. Let's see if this polybag is worth the effort and value. Name: 30252 Crug's Swamp Jet Theme: LEGO System / Legends of Chima Year: 2013 Pieces: 23 Minifigs: 1 minifigure Price: USD N.A, GBP N.A, EURO N.A, SGD $8.00, RM 19.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original polybag image of the 30252 Crug's Swamp Jet Back view of the original polybag image of the 30252 Crug's Swamp Jet Ready for some fast speedy water action? This will be a short and comprehensive review. More importantly, this polybag served as an appetiser for any LEGO individuals who are unsure of this new Legends of Chima LEGO Theme. This polybag will allow you to have a good insight and deeper appreciation of the new minifigures designing concept which is largely based on the animal tribes rivalry over the control of 'chi' crystals. In this context, this polybag is all about the aquatic deployment of the swamp jet for the Crocodile Tribe. Instruction Manual (Front) Instruction Manual (Back) The LEGO building content These are the laid out content of building up this lovely little new LEGO Legends of Chima polybag set. The building process is quick and fast. It probably take the builder less than five minutes to finish building. After the built is completed, this is the only remaining spare part. My name is Crug and I belonged to the Croc tribe Crug's body structure revolved around the minifigure scale and the outer layer features his crocodile physical characteristics. The level of details is highly recognised, coupled with the fact that it comes with back printing and double head printing. These details are welcoming to know. Crug has appeared in just a few LEGO sets and not to mention that he has his very own new Speedorz set as well. My only complaint is the lack of weapon for Crug. It could be much complete in this manner The completed built of the Swamp Jet After completing the built of the Swamp Jet, you may find the entire design to be very simplistic. True enough, it utilise less than 30 bricks to construct this Swamp Jet and yet an individual can still readily recognise the direct usage of it. The overall colour schema made use of grey, red and dark olive green combination which is the primary colour of the Crocodile Tribe. On a whole approach, this is certainly an effective simplistic Swamp Jet that can be quickly deployed to respond towards water skirmishes. Lifting the front of the Swamp Jet The front of the Swamp Jet can be lifted upwards. Somehow or another, I find it quite familiar and able to relate it to the crocodile jaws. Where shall I place the 'CHI' crystal in order to power up my Swamp Jet? To conclude, I am very satisfied with this polybag design and more importantly, it is able to provide me a greater insight to the Crocodile Tribe minifigure in terms of seeing and appreciating the in-depth design features. This also allow me to obtain Crug in an inexpensive manner without buying regular LEGO sets. All in all, I will encourage you to grab this without second thought only if the pricing is very very reasonable. Otherwise, it's alright to give it a miss. Summary review Playability: 6/10 (The Swamp Jet can be deployed in many water battles quickly.) Design: 7/10 (Limited parts and simplistic design but able to utilise the parts well.) Price: 8/10 (The price that I paid for, is quite reasonable for a polybag price.) Overall: 7/10 (Grab this polybag if you are able to find it reasonably priced.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. 4. [pid][/pid] Hello everyone, Isn't it wonderful to suddenly be able to reminisce the excellent LEGO Pirates II series since it was first released in 2009. We have also gotten some good Pirate sets along the way through the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean. And now, we see the latest minifigure pack in pre-packed condition out of the blue in a matter of recent days. I am very pleased to be able to pick this pack up at the LEGOLAND Malaysia, located at the 'Big Shop'. Although the price is on the high side, but I am very pleased to get it and take a better look for myself if it is indeed worth the money to acquire it. Name: 850839 Pirate minifigure pack Theme: LEGO System / Pirates Year: 2013 Pieces: 39 Minifigs: 4 minifigures Price: USD N.A, GBP N.A, EURO N.A, SGD $23.90, RM 59.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original packing image of the 850839 Pirate minifigure pack Back view of the original packing image of the 850839 Pirate minifigure pack Look here, mates! We have more new Pirate crew for recruiting Wow, this packing looks like any other regular typical battle pack which we have seen in the medieval castle, city, space, Halloween themes, etc, over recent years. It is a pleasant surprise to see this minifigure pack to appear in the market but I personally find it more of a re-hash of minifigure pack that just will like to rid of the extra parts in the warehouse, or you could really simply put it as a hint or a teaser of a new Pirates III theme in the near future. No one can be certain of the intentions of this mysterious minifigure pack except TLG planning. Perhaps, time will tell us soon. The content of the sealed box Within the sealed box, it comes with one small package, four pre-assembled minifigures with accessories and an instruction manual to build up the little scene. I will also like to mention that this package is built in these following countries and unfortunately the place that the package is produced from, is also notorious from the poorly made minifigure types with the marked symbol below the armpit. It is unfortunate even though the quality has slightly improved but you could see and feel visible differences. To me, that is considered a huge disappointment to a certain extent. It is not quite exact the same quality like the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series, but maybe I am being too paranoid and sceptical due to early misconceptions. Front - Instruction Manual Back - Instruction Manual Building parts These are the parts from the small little package that will be used to build up the tiny little hide out for the Pirates to hide themselves from impending threat or to camouflage their treasure chest. It is definitely not very complicated to begin with. Useful parts and accessories In this package, these are some of the very useful parts and accessories that is definitely welcoming for any minifigures context. Weaponries such as the scimitar and flintlock pistol are good choice of weapons even though there is no typical traditional cutlasses for the pirates. I am not complaining since I got plentiful of such weapons. The crab and parrot are also excellent addition to the total count of animals inventories. Not to forget that, printed tiles like the new 2x2 map tile which I am very sure that I have not seen it before, and the printed ship bottle from the Pirates of the Caribbean. Lastly, the chicken drum stick and barrel are equally useful for any play settings, not restricting to Pirates. Treasure chest with chrome gold I am very pleased that the treasure chest came with the right content as reflected on the packaging. To me, this is a plus point as I had very bad experience from my 4181 Isla De Muerta review. I will be very upset if I have gotten the pearl gold colour instead of the chrome gold. I am glad this has been successfully resolved. The Pirates minifigures This pack come with a Pirate Captain and I am not deeply mistaken about it, two male henchmen and a female Pirate. Most of the parts in there are pretty much re-hash with little room for new creativity and imagination. Even though they have tried to shuffle in with a couple of new faces but it does not really hold much water as well and I find it weak in settings of the choice of minifigures too. Good news for some, there are back printing for all of the four minifigures who love a detail for minifigures. Do you like this minifigure pack? To conclude, I am not pretty satisfied with this new Pirate minifigure pack. It made up of too many re-hashes and the quality is not too desirable to my standard. The pricing is steep and the money probably warrant you to get a better LEGO playset instead. The good point in this pack is the useful building elements, parts and accessories which is decent and good selection, but unfortunately the quantity is low for the good stuff. In the end, I most likely bought this minifigure pack on impulse and I really want to find out for myself if the gold bar is indeed chrome. I am glad that TLG didn't mislead me to obtain a pearl gold bar instead. All in all, I only recommend you to get this minifigure pack if you are truly wanting to complete the LEGO Pirate theme or a true hardcore LEGO Pirates fan. Summary review Playability: 3/10 (Limited playability and probably depend a lot more on the integration of your own Pirates theme.) Design: 5/10 (Design is pretty simple and the selling point is probably the good selection of parts and accessories) Price: 3/10 (Price is expensive to my taste and not quite worth the money to acquire it with the extreme low parts to price ratio.) Overall: 3.7/10 (Grab this if you are really intending to complete every single LEGO Pirate sets out there.) I gave it a "2" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr and My Brickshelf (When moderated)

  6. Keep up the good work guys! I am sure we will be seeing plentiful of innovative entries in this contest!
  7. Hello everyone, I had a great gift from my wife, Belun and another fun trip to LEGOLAND Malaysia yesterday. My wife surprised me with a nice re-creation of this mysterious MOC which is sighted in LEGOLAND Malaysia near the PAB section. Wish I could credit the original builder appropriately. Apparently, she was inspired by it and took it upon herself by re-creating this MOC by just viewing it. I am surprised that she have the energy and motivation to finish the entire built with just 30 minutes or less with slight modifications, by finding these bricks in the PAB selection. Very nicely done, if you asked me! I love it as it is and it is a perfect gift. Thought that I will like to share this simple MOC with you guys. A beautiful gift done by my wife, Belun A nice view from the slant to view the red heart Top view of the red heart Side view of the red heart Bottom view of the red heart
  8. Series 11 has been sighted in LEGOLAND Malaysia on 1 Sep 2013!
  9. This news is very intriguing indeed! I hope it is a sign of the return of Pirates III!
  10. Post moved to discussion topic.
  11. Great job guys! I hope I have not owe any of you any outstanding packages! Really nice of the winners to come forth to share their winnings with the community and you guys earned it. Keep up the good work and I hope to bring more of such fun in the near future.
  12. A very interesting discussion but I thought I had seen a discussion like this before, Meanwhile, my biggest collection is the S3 Elves, more than 100 pieces. Other notable army builders' minifigures in significant quantities, Gladiators, Forestmen, Dwarf Warriors, Viking Warriors, etc Can't remember the rest though.
  13. + 1 to Cecilie! Many thanks for the trade.
  14. Thank you Jimbee for this insightful review. This set is something which have never been presented before and is clearly targeted at the builders who have a strong passion towards architecture building through usage of LEGO bricks to present them in abstract art. Although the set may present itself in merely a collection of just monotonous white bricks, but the selling point is get builders who are interested in architecture designs to follow up with in-depth inspirational journey with renowned architects to share their processes and ideas in this very thick publication title that is part of this set. TLG has been very kind enough to actually release their content in their domain and allow us to really experience the full content for free and more importantly to show and allow us to appreciate this set to the fullest. I am quite aware that there are many people out there who is not buying the idea of this set as it is just clearly show that it is just a box filled with white part bricks. It is not as shallow as it seems. But I have to admit that the disappointing thing in this set, is the lack of bricks to allow the builder to build all of the inspirational design that clearly set the limitation of the different illustrating inspirations. To me, that can be quite frustrating. Nonetheless, I am very pleased to see something very different and clearly understand that TLG indeed value the LEGO Architecture Product line.

  16. Thank you very much to all of you who have taken their time to compose your comments. It is very interesting to read your take on this series and I can definitely agree with you on the sub-par distribution ratio for Series 11 but there is nothing that we can do about it. Hopefully, this will help all of us to be able to acquire all of my fave minifigures! Aww, thank you for the update. I really hope this may change for the better. Both the Tiki Warrior's face mask and Grandma's basket are made up of semi-soft medium plastic. The Welder's equipment are also made up of the same material as well. No, it is not transparent. However, the visor showed a slight reflection on the right side.
  17. I apologies for the merge of the topics as I do not able to relate the thought process of the topics behind both of the intent and since both of the topics' intent is pretty similar, I made the judgement call as a mod. If you really want to re-consolidate your discussions into two distinct directions, please PM me for further discussion. Meanwhile, I hope you will also respect my initial decision on this matter and this is not a 'done' deal, so you can definitely appeal it. Thanks.
  18. I have merged both topics together for a consolidated discussion.
  19. Great to know that it is up!
  20. Thank you very much guys who have taken their time to compose their thoughts and share with the rest in this review. It is very interesting to see each other take. There are endless possibilities to what one can do with the duplicate minifigures. Most probably, I could do repetitions of different looking visual for the same genre. Pengy, I can't wait to see you in action to pull these new designs to create more Batman theme related minifigures, especially the 'new' Scarecrow design. You have certainly nail that down. I thought have the Barbarian to be able to wield duo swords will make him appear to be 100% offensive mode. Still, you apt description of the giant pole axe will be a much better choice. Miss Kyle, it is very insightful to hear your thoughts on their festive outfit especially for my lack of knowledge in this area. It is indeed very interesting to see the people wearing this iconic clothings. Thank you so much chiukeung. I am looking forward to find out what our Asian counterparts, HKLUG felt about this new series. Actually I shared your same sentiments too, but maybe perhaps it is the tiring hunt of Mr. Gold make the entire collecting process much tedious and less enjoyable and it is not as if it was enjoyable in the past. It just make it worse. Nonetheless, this new series remain to serve its greater purpose by able to continue to overwhelm us with excitement. Ouch, thank you so much DrLegostar. I lost that image which I have taken for her dual sided feeling that show her annoying face. Geez, thank you for pointing it out. Are you saying that Series 11 will not be available in Denmark? How true is your source of information? Because I really find it very hard to believe that this is not extended to its own country mates.
  21. Thank you very much guys for your comments. Not really very strange to me, at least you can lie the Gingerbread Man in a flat position. That is an interesting take. I didn't notice this point either. Actually I did mention in the review and here is a quick link to indicate his back printing.
  22. And, the review is now available for viewing. I really hope you will enjoy the coverage and continue supporting the LEGO CMFs. Keep the polling results coming. I am very interested to find out your choices.
  23. Dear all, I am very pleased to present to all of you on my latest completed reviewing project, of the 71002 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11. This review is now officially fit for public viewing. Please feel free to leave your thoughts! WhiteFang
