  1. Having looked more closely at @EKae's ldd file I have a few more notes: - I am not sure of the skeleton design of the body - it seems a bit overly complex and not 100% sturdy when you would grab the model there, but I could be wrong? - Having axles and 2x2 bricks inside the side tubes should not be needed - The engines look a bit heavy with many 2x2 round brick inside - that could cause a bit of sacking especially with the middle ones that are only held up by 2476 - The sloping of some of the engines seem a bit off, but the area where the engines and body meet is also where this ldd differs from mine the most :) - The cockpit seem a little off as well, I think the "sides" are too high - A few details are missing here and there These are just notes, not a critique, I am still impressed with what have been made here just by looking at the pictures :) I think you all know the instructions maker working on this :) I'll let him give you an ETA on the instructions. Some of you may be thinking why I don't just share my ldd file already. The reason is instructions are being made and having the original ldd file might put people off getting the instructions which in turn would make spending a 100+ hours making instructions less worth it.
  2. Isn't it around 930 parts? Can't remember anymore ;)
  3. I haven't run a conplete comparison of our files, but many of the outer bricks looks to be the same. The internals seem a bit different though. I will get back with an ETA on instructions ASAP :)
  4. I will return with and estimate to how long asap :) (@ecmo47) - regarding those bricks. I put on the middle engines using technic bricks, but those could do the trick as well - they are used on the 10019 as far as I remember. But get them NEW since the pin part of them can be a bit soft on used bricks and make your engines sack.
  5. Go for it Lobot! There will be instructions on their way soon for the Blockade Runner as well :)
  6. Looking great EKae - and you are welcome ;)
  7. This is looks pretty close to my ldd :) Since this is out there, I might just as well share my own ldd. I was actually going to make instructions for it, but I don't know if there is interest now the ldd's are out there? The reason I wasn't going to share the ldd because of the floating bricks, but I see you have many of the same floating bricks going on :) A few notes after a quick glance: The core of my version is a bit different I am using different hinges for the sides - the old plate hinges are very expensive :) I have also designed it in two sections, that you stick together. I think the 2 x 2 round bricks in the engines cores are a bit redundant. The detailing look very close to the original - good job :)
  8. Great work guys! It won't be long before TLG makes these - watch out! :D
  9. Looks great! :) And I agree, a lot of ships in TFA felt a bit lazy - especially when you compare it to the reverse engineered "evolution" presented in the prequels. But I guess that is my biggest problem with TFA - it felt lazy :)
  10. Yeah a dish on top, probably an 8 x 8. But I think the 10 x 10 is closest :)
  11. Hi Khaled, if you think 12 x 12 is a better fit (I am not 100% sure, but maybe) you could go for piece 95188 (x4) instead: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=95188#T=C What do you think? :)
  12. Excellent build! I am doing something similar at the moment and I had somehow forgotten that the 10 x 10 dish existed for the bottom dome - I will get that asap! What I find most impressive it the sturdiness of it all - such a big ship on just one leg! I would like to see Lego try to pull that off! :)
  13. These are great! And so many of them! Have you thought about making a separate post of some of them with more pictures? :) Hint: Invisible Hand ;)
  14. Great, the more the merrier :) I put in some obscure greeblies that also makes the made 1 plate thickness longer :) The added length can be agued for or against since the source material is so blurry though :)
  15. I could make one, but I am in the middle of posting something big ;)
  16. Correct, don't worry about them - I only used them all in grey sine I have a ton left over from the modding my SSD bottom (they were a lot cheaper back then:D )
  17. Excellent! Looks spot on! Although I have since added a little obscure detail to my model - but it is somewhere it can't be seen so there is no way of telling if it is correct or not :P :)
  18. Thank you :) Wow, that UB-820 is very well reverse-engineered! Glad to be of help :D
  19. Looks good! But the engines should be more "on top" of the wings - and perhaps a little bit larger if possible :)
  20. This is very vey impressive! I have got to ask - any glue used anywhere? You have really nailed to look and the details of the film model - kudos!
  21. If I get the time I could take some more pics of them if you need them :) These are great - although the wing's nose is a bit skinny :) Are the Capital ships going to be to scale?
  22. Way to go! You will soon have a massive fleet :) I have just made two more TIEs - and given them lasers :)
  23. Hi David, if I know the scale I want to build at, I begin calculating the proportions by looking at pictures of the models from the movies. Then I start up ldd and make a crude skeleton to match those proportions. This skeleton is just meant to give me a sense of what goes where. Certain larger details - such as an egine - may be designed seperately to give me a sense of what the skeleton needs to support. When designing the final skeleton it is important to have an idea of what goes where - that is why certain structures sometimes are sketched out beforehand. When the model is "done" I order the bricks from bricklink. I then build the model, but I often redesign a lot of things when I have the physical model. There is a lot of back and forth in this process, but that is how you get the best results. If you begin by making a skeleton, then add details and stop, then your model might not be the best it can be. It is an iterative process, my models are never done :)
  24. Thank you :) Btw you read my mind ;) Happy New Year mate! I am not sure it can be called a mod anymore - so much is being changed/rebuilt. More like a 10030 tribute :D Spot on! :) Hehe, I would have to basically start over and, for now, I am using my limited spare time on a another project ;)
  25. You guys crack me up :D Yes, there is a chance - maybe if my son helps me it will be possible ;)
