Was not meant as an insult, just pointing out poor spelling. And i gave you concession as you do not natively speak English. i dont know what you mean by "but i already know about that" . You really should give up on proving how intelligent you think you are. It is a bit sad really - First the mini lecture on edged weaponry followed by comments like - "I'm an Italian teacher" and "even if it is my fourth language" indicate to me a minor superiority complex that needs to be addressed. You wanted an insult, consider that to be yours. Oh and Bonaparte i fail to see how expressing my opinion about how stale a thread has become from within that thread should ever require me to be a moderator. i do not need to report my opinion to anybody other than the people within the thread concerned. i do not see why i would bother to use the report button or PM anybody.

Welcome iotacode, obviously you have not been on this forum too long, 75 - 80% of what you will find here is "i bought" "i want to buy" or "i own". But amongst the remaining 20 - 25% i am sure you will find some great "constructive conversations" get some news and see some nice MOCs. Hope you enjoy your time here.... Now onto the thread topic - i really like the Comic Con set, but yes it is literally a bit of a "con"..... The opportunity to own a few Clones a bit early and the addition of some nice packaging does not justify the high price of this set. To purchase it on E-bay for an even higher price is just foolish. i can understand why "completist collectors" would do so, but then i have never understood their reasoning. i have never bought something that i did not like just for the sake of completing a collection of things that i do. i am patient enough to await the release of both of the Clone Wars battle packs.

Well i find your opinion rather sad. i like to discuss things that actually exist ie: the Pirate minifigs that actually started this thread. The thread began to discuss the pictured minifigs and has become ruminative drivel all too rapidly. i dont think anybody finds going over anything again and again to be enjoyable. Repetition is most tedious, however enjoyable the original idea or object was in the beginning. i personally have never found anticipation to be any fun at all, i am a here and now type of person myself. And to answer your question, i am posting in this thread because it has gone on far too long and felt that it needed to be said.

Actually i am rather well versed in the manufacture and usage of edged weaponry already, but thanks anyway for your "lesson". What i said was that TLG would feel the two weapons were close enough in appearance that they would not have to go to the extra expense of producing a new part, especially as it would only be appearing in one or two sets. Why you felt the need to expound your "knowledge" i have no idea, but congratulations on your research skills. Though your spelling could do with some work (long and strait?) though as you are in Italy one would assume that English is not your first language, so i guess it is understandable.

Sorry to say it but the box says 24 'gifts' are included, and Zeki has provided pictures of all 24 sets. So (thankfully) no Santa this year. Anybody whom wishes to see the sets assembled as they are intended to be displayed can find pics on Flickr and elsewhere on the interweb from a toy show earlier this year.

i am not particularly sure why you quoted my post, and what it had to do with what you went on to say. Yes i also believe that the Lego Pirates theme is set to return, but as i said, i feel that this thread of rumor and conjecture has gone on and on for far too long. OBVIOUSLY the return of the theme is highly anticipated, and yes it has been said many many times that a large section of the community believe this to be so, - woo-hoo!! Does it "feel good" to re-hash "evidence" that is weak at best (why would TLG make a new part for a one off character in one or two sets when they have a part already that they feel to be "close enough" ? Henry Jones Snr has a grey pith helmet as "evidence" of this fact) Many other people on this forum have cited far more credible evidence than that to indicate the return of the Pirates theme and fuel the speculation and collectivist unfounded statements that this thread has become. "Pirates Will come back!" - now i have said it, i too feel good.
-
Mister Phes your statement actually holds less value than, "Maybe, Maybe not". As usual a thread on EB has been reduced to a collection of conjecture filled murmurs and wishful guesses. The speculation is actually quite pointless and rather vapid.

That is just plain awesome... A free Clone with a magazine, i'd never have imagined it! i only wish it were available where i am located.... Would have bought myself a few at that price!

As Robbo says, S@H is the place. They are only available via Shop@Home or an official Lego store (which Australia does not have). The Battle-Packs are not sold in generic retail stores. If you do not wish to incur the outrageous postage rates offered by S@H you should try Bricklink. -
Can you please clarify what you mean by wave 3 of the impulse sets? As far as i am aware two "waves" of impulse sets are due for release in 2008. i am currently living in Australia and can tell you sets 5610 through to 5617 were released simultaneously in a large cardboard store display. Most stores did not utilize the display, they just put the sets straight on the shelf. Set 6514 The Good Wizard was one of the first released, strange that you cant get it wherever you are located. Sets 5619 through to 5621 are currently unreleased so far here. The entire impulse set list: - First Half of 2008 5610 Builder - City - Construction - 23 pieces 5611 Public Works - City - Transport - 31 pieces 5612 Police Officer - City - Police - 21 pieces 5613 Firefighter - City - Fire - 25 pieces 5614 The Good Wizard - Castle - 16 pieces 5615 The Knight - Castle - 21 pieces 5616 Mini-Robot - Mars Mission - 24 pieces 5617 Alien Jet - Mars Mission - 21 pieces - Late 2008 5619 Crystal Hawk - Mars Mission - 26 pieces 5618 Troll Warrior - Castle - 19 pieces 5620 Street Cleaner - City - Construction - 22 pieces 5621 Coast Guard Kayak - City - Coast Guard - 21 pieces

i ordered mine from the Lego kids club in June. Not too bad for $30 AU. Does anybody actually know when it ships? No mention of the Medieval calendar getting a release here in Australia, yet. i particularly like the bottle palette and trolley, but i cant work out what the Police scene is supposed to be - a bench and lamp for torture and interrogation perhaps? Reminds me of the room found in the tower of the Arkham set. i am in agreement that the snowman is indeed missing his carrot nose, but i think Lego used up their surplus of those in their egg and bunny Easter sets in 2008.

One of my favorite MOCs of yours Sir Nadroj. Sometimes the quick builds are the nicest.. Did not yet get that lovely Bus myself, it is not so easy or cheap to get in Australia, but get it i must! So many nice parts (portholes, wheels, fish-head etc)....

Currently listening to - Tim Hecker - Atlas. i would not really label it as `music' (though music is just organized noise) - though i feel the definition - indescribable, beautiful, haunting sound - comes across as a bit pretentious... Feeling a little out of place around these parts, rock, pop, classical and their harder and softer variants seem to be the audio of choice here on EB. Does anybody on EB listen to anything that they would consider non- "mainstream" music? So far in this thread, other than perhaps some of the more extreme "Metal" i have seen no indication of this. i am not asking in order to provoke any kind of arguments over "taste", each to their own™ as they say, i am asking because i do have a genuine interest.
-
i must agree with several of the above posts - you have captured the character and look of the band splendidly!! And i really like the overall stage design and pyro effects a great deal. Awesome MOC!!
-
Why would you sit here on EB and expect the builder to come answer your questions? It only takes a single click and a little reading to work out the answers for yourself. Or if you really need a response from the builder, it only takes a modicum of effort to go to Flickr and mail him there. Whilst EB is a wonderful resource and forum for discussion, it is only one of many sites that make up the online Lego community.

Forget about the Star Justice set, the Hoth base is a far superior set, and much better value also... -
A few more pics to be found at Mocpages. i believe it to be quite bad form not to credit the builder (Alex Eylar BTW) when posting a link.

Its actually a rather poorly written over-opinionated piece of (intended) correspondence. The letter is just a volley of personal taste and self opinion full of objectionable statements, many of which the Lego Company has proven to be factually incorrect, by way of stringent consumer testing and thorough research. It is nice to see you got to vent in public, and share your frustration with others (the beauty of forums), but seriously, how many letters like this do you think the Lego Company receive each week?

Yes it is real, it is a `Pirate store display`... Click the above link for further info. BTW it really did not take more than 30 seconds of searching to find this info.

Well...... the sales are all over (though K-mart has 20% off every couple of months) - so now we might finally see an Australian retail release of the Agents Theme.... Did not purchase any of the larger sets myself in the HUGE discount sales, a hundred dollar discount on a set that is already a few hundred is a great saving, but still a little too 'rich' for me, (got bills, rent to pay, gotta eat, occasionally etc) . i did pick up a whole lot of smaller sets very cheaply though (most of the Exo-Force theme etc.) , so the sales were good for me too. Whilst watching parents violently battle over SpongeBob and Police sets i got to thinking, it would be of deep interest to me to find out how much the famed "Lego Dark Age" that occurs during the life of many Lego fans is due to often blamed social pressures (peers, sports, girls) , and how much it is actually due to the need to devote ones OWN income to the Lego hobby... hmmmmm..... -
My guess as to whom designed this set would be Mr. Zumbi.Apparently this fine Polish builder is now a member of TLC design team - Yay!! Mr Zumbi is very well known for his 'Hot-Rod" designs and builds, among many other wonderful MOCs.

i really fail to see how Lego releasing a Pirate theme could be grounds for any kind of legal action. Nobody owns the intellectual property rights to the idea of piracy, that would be a truly absurd concept. It's akin to being sued for releasing the Racers theme, because somebody else already invented cars.

- i am old & grumpy.... - i am not judging anybody, just supporting the fact that 'teens' do not belong in an 'adult' discussion group. - i think that clowns and creampies kind of fall into the 'cutesy' category, personal opinion really. - i am aware of the 'talent' of many TFOLs, i admire their work on FlickR daily. - i made no claims of maturity, i may be an adult but i am by no means 'mature' ( i play with Lego, a children's toy). - i do not understand how the presence of numerous teens contributes to EB, quantity does not equal quality. - The purpose of Forums is for individuals to express their personal opinion about a given subject, you seem a little oversensitive to comment, i suggest you develop a 'thicker skin' before continuing to enter into communal discussion. - i am very happy for you that you are confident in your 'maturity'......
