  1. Thankyou for the positive comment. i got the mushrooms from Legoland amusement park near Munich. heh, yes the scorpion is kinda out of place, i NEED to get a mutant lizard or two.
  2. Thankyou for the comments. Yes originaly the unit was hollow to allow for the insertion of a minifig pilot, but i thought it made the mecha look a little insubstantial, so i filled it with a torso made of blue 2 x 4 and 2 x 3 bricks, but after your observation, i think i will return to the original idea and devise a cockpit of some sort. The face was quite intentional, it was meant to be seen as Samurai Mempo, but unfortunately it seems i did not achive the effect. i guess there is much work to be done with this unit.
  3. It makes me mad with desire for the pink hat! Nice work, heh.

  5. Beautiful work!! " it's so strange. I know I should be sad, and I am, part of me is. But it's like... it's like I'm having the most beautiful dream... and the most terrible nightmare, all at once". - Donna Hayward

  9. Yes this has been posted elsewhere previously, but i believe this is a more suitable place. Registration is open for Brickvention 2008. Brickvention 2008 will be held over the Australia Day long weekend, 25-27 January 2008. Similar to the 2006 event, it will feature presentations, games, competitions, trading, and of course models by LEGO fans from all over Australia. With much so more space available, the 2008 event promises to be even bigger and better than 2006! Information about the event can be found at: http://www.brickventures.com/index.php/Bri...ntion-2008.html Limited information available at this time. Date: Saturday Jan. 26 and Sunday 27 Jan. 2008 (Saturday is only open to pre-registered attendees. Sunday is open to the Public) Location: Level 12, 300 Flinders St. Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (right in the CBD, across the road from Flinders St. train station.)
  10. thank-you all for your kind words of welcome.... yeah Melbourne is a 'nice' place..... The Lego hunting is good in terms of thrift stores and garage sales, markets etc. For new sets though, the standard TRU and department store support is a little slim, though recently i have been purchasing quite a few medium sized castle sets, Exo - force and Bionicle large sets for under $20 au , so perhaps not so bad around Xmas time, yeah! ,heh.... Nearby to where i am, in a suburb named 'Moonee Ponds' is the first 'Lego Education centre' in Australia, i believe another opened in the Queensland city of Brisbane recently. They sell some supplemental parts, minifigs etc. but tend to be rather overpriced. So Melbourne Lego consumption is o.k. And YES! i am exited to see the Minifig custom section, Minifigs are the main focus of my Lego addiction and, coincidentally i am currently moulding and casting some new parts for my 'Fig's including several different geisha wigs and oriental fans, stay tuned for pics soon...... My main focus of brick building is minifig custom across several 'themes', i am creating an army of classic blue spacemen at the moment, as well as the Gotham City Special Operations Group, they are coming along nicely if i do say so myself , heh (pics to follow soon). i build Mecha and Spacecraft both flying and rolling, and also this year the city theme has started to really grab me (large Hauler etc.) and am working on a city layout loosely based on sections of Hong Kong. i also enjoy building some fairly abstract structures purely for their aesthetic value. No theme no story, just 'the build', hehhe.... i am happy to see other Australian's and indeed other 'Melburnian's' here on Eurobricks, anybody able to tell me anything about the Melbourne LUG? i am located in Melbourne most of the time, as i said, but sometimes travel to Bangkok and Hong Kong; and i hope to move to Kyoto Japan by the end of 2008, so am alway's eager to hear of lego event's etc in those locations.. Nice to be welcome, i feel at home already..
  11. hello everybody, thought it was about time to join... i am located in Melbourne Australia, most of the time....
  12. The 2008 Exo - Force, Police and Mars sets are all available in limited amounts in TRU stores around Australia...... Still waiting on those impulse though, me wanty!!
  13. Beautiful design. Not at all "strange" to me. i do believe lego designers are incorporating techniques learned from MOC's in a large number of the newer sets, this Rogue Shadow is a good example of this, along with the mini robots in the 2008 Exo-Force sets. I really do enjoy the non traditional, heh......
