  1. "Thank you, Sir Leonard. I think we all underestimated him, to our peril." "Well, Count Knyghton, Luke, it appears that we have reached the end of another journey together. If you ever require my services again, you know who to ask." Arthur pulls Luke aside for a moment and speaks quietly. "Luke, I know that wielding that staff has been difficult for you, so I'll happily take it back from you if you'd like. Rest assured, I shall be disposing of it properly once I return to Eubric. I think Sir Alexandre would appreciate having his bedroll back as well." "Farewell, my friends! Do not hesitate to drop by the Hall whenever you can, we would all be more than happy to see you!"
  2. Yeah, but he's stuck crawling around sewers in Quest 35 for the next six months. I jest, I jest.
  3. *cough* Scroll of Luck *cough* So to review: Cronk: high SP, Guardian Angel, healing, general awesomeness Arthur: Scroll of Luck, Shield that stuns enemies, status effects up the wazoo ( ) Atramor: Badly Poisoning (to all enemies if you can convince whoever owns that whip to sell), healing, 16x damage to rats, Hexing, Special Mirror, general awesomeness Oh yeah. This will be epic.
  4. It's actually a barbecue, according to my uncle. Woooow, it's been a long time since I've really stretched my role-playing muscles. I need to do that more often! Also, now that Arthur is (pretty much) a Sorcerer (basically as soon as he gets back to the Hall), Cronk, Atramor, and Arthur need to sign up for Fields of Glory sometime. Not before Quest 38, though!
  5. "Very well. Perhaps another time. When we return to the Hall, I'll be sure to inform Byblos that you are to be granted full access to our own Library, should you ever decide to visit. Please do so! And bring bananas to bribe Byblos with. Farewell, Emperor! May we meet again, and soon!" "Well, fellows, I am ready to go. Knyghton?" "Aye, I'm ready as well. It's been a pleasure, but I'm ready ta go home." "Then go home we shall, old friend." --- As Arthur followed Sir Leofard and the others, his heart was moved. What had once been an arid, soul-sucking wasteland was now a thriving oasis in the desert--a hard land, to be sure, but one full of life. For the first time in a long time, he was at peace. As the party walked onward, Arthur let his thoughts flow from his lips into song, just as Caroline had taught him so long ago. A painful past...but no longer would it weigh him down. As he sang, a familiar silhouette flew across the sky behind him. "We're done, but it's not over, We'll start it again, after the end of the day; It keeps getting better, Don't be afraid, we'll do it together, Come on, come on, You know, It's your time to move, it's my time to move, Come on, Come on, Let go, Leave it all behind, Your past and mine... Gone are the days of summer, We couldn't change it if we tried. Why would we want to? Let's go where we got to, Our paths will cross again in time. It's never the same tomorrow, And tomorrow's never clear, So come on, come on, You know, Our time...Our time is here! We know, but we're not certain, How can we be? How can we see what's ahead? The road keeps on turning, And all we can do is travel each day to the next. Come on, come on, You know, It's your time to move, it's my time to move, Come on, Come on, Let go, Leave it all behind, Your past and mine... Gone are the days of summer, We couldn't change it if we tried. Why would we want to? Let's go where we got to, Our paths will cross again in time. It's never the same tomorrow, And tomorrow's never clear, So come on, come on, You know, Our time...Our time is here! Gone are the days of summer, We couldn't change it if we tried. So come on, Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on, So come on, come on, You know, Our time...Our time is here!"
  6. ... I want Zepher pictures! EDIT: Actually, on that note: a picture from my trip. Zeph, you never told us that Wren was building Chaos Factories in Idaho!
  7. "Your highness, I seem to recall a promise made, that, once the battle for the Empire was won, we would, together, pore over some of the ancient texts of your library, and perhaps recover some of the knowlege and wisdom of the ancient past of Dastan. With the Dragons--herefore and forever after I name them Karath Dastanitha, "Dastan's Stweards" in the tongue of my people--once again filling the skies of this land, I can think of no better time. Perhaps we may speak with the Dragons and their Breeders you mentioned earlier, what now seems a lifetime ago?" As Arthur starts out the door with Alandri, he belatedly notices the others. "You three go on, I'll catch up before anything too important happens." OOC: Doc, if you want to run an epic roleplaying session, I'm up for a couple more hours, otherwise though Arthur and Alandri can exchange A-mail coordinates and talk about other stuff off-screen and Arthur will rejoin the others for the ending.
  8. Grah, SO upset that I missed the ending of the epic battle! Oh, well, I'll make up for it by going nuts with roleplaying with Alandri. Also, am I the only one unable to see the ending pictures of the battle in Quest 30? Photobucket seems to be glitching up.
  9. "Impressive, Atramor! This is definitely something to ponder..."
  10. OK, looks like it might be a little longer than I thought before I can get internet again, so again, my earlier "plans" stand, with the added note that once the battle is over, Arthur will exchange his Scroll of Confusion with De'kra's Scroll. I'll find and quote that post for easy reference.
  11. "You lucky wolf! I'd give quite a bit for a chance to spend some time with--and get some answers from--the Lady Wren, her mysteries are most...intriguing." "By any chance, would you care to share your answers? I know, from my own meeting with her, that she came here simply to help two people--do you have any clue who they would be? And have you any idea what interest she would have in Ella?"
  12. Sorry I've been MIA, I'm on the way back home. Hopefully I'll be back up to speed on Thursday, thanks to an unexpected trip to the Hoover Dam. No guarantees, though, I have to sort out a tangled mess of college paperwork that day, so...
  13. "Right. Sorry if I've been incommunicative, I've been...thinking." As the fight against the beasts of Zoot--no, of Wren, he thought--raged on, a lull in the combat gave Arthur a moment to glance into the South Hall, filled with the bodies of fallen Rogue Lions. He surveyed the carnage...perhaps it was the bond Vipera had forged between them all, or perhaps it was De'kra's song, but whatever the cause, something stirred within him, a piece of the larger puzzle falling into place. "I did this," he said softly, the words nonetheless reaching to all the other Heroes, thanks to Vipera. He shook his head, in an almost amused fashion. "So be it," he added casually, his previous emotion all but erased. He returned his attention to Chaos Beast B, casting an Ice Spell at it from the Back Row. As he released his magicks, Arthur surveyed the team of Heroes in the East Hall. It felt...right. "We make a pretty badass team, don't we?" he said with a chuckle. "We should do this again sometime." As he turned to Atramor, Arthur sensed a strange disturbance from the Witch. "Atramor, you seem weakened for some reason. Would you mind explaining why?"
  14. Arthur hears a familiar tune coming from the South Hall, and does a double-take as he realizes it is De'kra singing. Did Dad travel to his homeland? How is it that people way out here know the ways of the Zut'tau'ri? Of my father? Nodding thankfully at Cronk's Angel, Arthur aims another Ice spell from the Back Row at Chaos Beast A.
  15. Don't let Monk Pretzel anywhere near Hybros, then.

  17. Will do, I've been coming up with ideas along my trip.
  18. OOC: Chaos Beast A should be Sealed. "All right, Cronk, since the other Chaos Beasts can't hit us with Free Hits, let's focus on killing at least one of them." Arthur pulls out his Opal and casts an Ice spell at Chaos Beast A from the Back Row.
  19. Whew, traveling is tough! I just have a few hours online before it's back to the "vacation"! First of all: Thanks for the epic tag, Sandy! I'm honored. Making the Theatre was one of my favorite experiences, both the set-building and the writing were a TON of fun. Second: Hey, I won something in the Lottery! I'm quite pleased that De'kra got the Scroll of Frailty, I'm glad that in-character De'kra would be likely to swap with Arthur. Third: As to Quest 35... Sir, your ability to troll Arthur knows no bounds. Keep it up. I can't wait to get back so I can really get back into roleplaying with the rest of you, if I can get online after the Final Battle but before the Dastan Quests end, you might see some interesting developments from Arthur!
  20. OOC: Have unexpected internet access tonight, hooray! Arthur felt his pack grow heavier, and he quickly checked to see what had happened. Inside, he found an extra Scroll of Confusion, with a piece of pink stationery attached. After the mumbo jumbo about the Lottery, he saw a small note scribbled at the bottom: Arthur rolls his eyes, and returns to Sealing Chaos Beast A from the Back row. Recalling the list of prizes and winners, Arthur shouts, "De'kra, this may not be the best time, but...if we get a moment, would you mind swapping your Lottery prize with me?"
  21. Well, this is my last post before leaving. Hopefully I'll be able to get on during my trip, but if not, my actions as stated earlier stand. Bye, everyone, see you in a week!
  22. A question on Quest 39: Docken is half Knight; doesn't that mean he should have been Stunned in Round 4 when he rolled Special Damage against the enemy Knight?
  23. Arthur scowls as William falls. "Well, that was a waste of a good Mead." He throws a glance at Cronk. "Note to self: never Hasten myself without the aid of a Nostrum as well; today, the extra speed just seems like a second chance to take damage." Arthur hears Atramor's suggestion and nods, using the Scroll of Sleep on Chaos Beast C from the Back Row."
  24. I used to hate hexes for wargames, I always got confused when trying to plan strategy. Thanks to Doc, though, I love them now--well, for medieval (D&D, Heroica, etc.) settings; I still can't stand 'em in sci-fi. Really, though, this makes a lot of sense--hexagons are rather organic shapes, being found everywhere from beehives to snowflakes to molecular structures, which is perfect for a setting in which almost everything is handmade or organic. In contrast, sci-fi consists primarily of artificial, man-made environments, so the cold, artificial square suits it well. I may be overthinking this, though.
  25. OK, I hate to do this, but my Internet access will be really spotty starting Monday and continuing for about a week, so I need to make some preparations in advance just in case I'm not able to get online. First, should the need arise, Zepher may determine Arthur's role-playing actions, particularly if Wren is involved. As far as battle actions go, Arthur will follow the other Heroes' advice in this order: Atramor, then Cronk, then Skrall. Second: If the Dastan Quest ends, please consider Arthur to be signed up for Quest 38. Third: If the Dastan Quest ends, Arthur will immediately settle as many of his debts as possible. This means: The_Customizer, Erdathcath may take 75 Gold from Arthur, if you are still willing to sell him your Scroll of Weakening. Bricksandparts, Alf is authorized to claim 124 gold, as previously agreed, for the purchase of the Healing Staff and for the purchase of the Scroll of Luck. Fourth: If Arthur wins a Scroll from the lottery that he already has (this includes the Scroll of Weakening if Erdathcath says she's still willing to sell it), he will attempt to negotiate a trade for a Scroll of Frailty. If he wins anything else, he will hold on to it. Fifth: If Arthur has any leftover money, he will attempt to purchase a Robe of Archmagi, or, if he does not have enough money for this, a pair of Spellbound Gloves. He will make no other purchases. Lastly: To the Party Leaders of the Dastan Quests (Skrall, Thothwick, Sarick): Arthur will seek the Topaz from Lord Blackenord, as well as as much Gold as he can convince you to let him have. He will not seek the Zoot's Plaything, though he will ask to touch it for just a moment, to give it to whoever ultimately recieves it. I hate to have to put this in such a cold, mechanical manner, but I want to be prepared in case Idaho has no wi-fi.
