Arthur would be a complete monster with that wand. Fortunately for you all, his Lens lets him do basically the same thing (though imagine if he used the wand and the Lens... In any event, I've got other plans in mind for Arthur, so you can rest assured that I will not get involved in the inevitable bidding war over this particular item...

The Lucky Die and the Aqua Gear are both Accessories, so they can't be equipped at the same time.
-
I have to agree, even though that means I can't build the character. Speaking of which, when are you coming back to Heroica? We've got three open Quests and a severe shortage of dwarves...plus, Waterbrick Down is planning a Quest around dwarven society...

I'm seriously hoping Atramor gets back in time so I can finally Quest with him. Also looking forward to the inevitable philosophical rematch with Cronk, and exploring Arthur's unexpected respect for Haldor. I'm really hoping to meet up with Skrall again, too, and Tensi as well if she's back from Quest 50 by then. I'm also REALLY hoping that Docken, Thothwick, and Hybros come along as well, all of them are characters that Arthur's been waiting quite a while for the chance to Quest with. Interaction with Dagerfall will be interesting as well, given that Arthur joined Heroica quite a while after Daggerfall, but is already around the same level--I can already tell that the two of them will clash somewhat if they Quest together (to say nothing of Dyric--back when Arthur was merely suggesting that Wren might be on to something, he and Arthur almost came to blows, by now it'll likely be considerably worse, which is really ironic considering what good friends The Legonater and I are on another site ). Basically, it's another Dastan-level opportunity for interaction, and I absolutely cannot wait. (No, really, if I didn't have Quest 51 to divert my anticipation, I might actually have lost my sanity by this point. ) At the same time, Quest 51 promises to have lots of great character interaction opportunities, especially if some of the Quest 44 participants come along for the ride. All in all, the remainder of 2012 and the start of 2013 are looking really good for Arthur!

I'm sorry, is Cronk wishing he'd brought along someone with moral views that are more Gray?

Arthur stops into the Marketplace for the first time since his trip to Ennon, and strides directly to Elphaba's stall--this was not his first meeting with the enigmatic witch at all. He noted the book Fifty Shades of Bley with a somewhat morbid fascination, but the lightness of his coin purse restrained him from taking more than a cursory glance. He remembered Wren's words at the Eye of Ennoc, and wondered... Shaking himself from his reverie, he passed over 100 Gold to Elphaba, taking a brightly-shining Diamond in return. He had parted with the last of his Gold, but he knew that fortune would favor him again soon. It had to. It was his destiny. His new gemstone in hand, Arthur leaves the Marketplace and returns to the Hall.
-
Arthur accepts the Gold with a chuckle. "I'm afraid that's exactly what I'll have to do, but at this price, it's definitely worth it. Elphaba doesn't carry Diamonds every day, and Diamonds are a spellcaster's second-best friend, after all." Arthur winks before getting up from his table and heading over to the Marketplace.

Is there, by chance, a plugin for the board that would let us create tables without the use of HTML? (Forgive me if this is self-evidently impossible, HTML is the biggest gap in my knowledge of computers. )

On the one hand, I'm really happy for that, since now Arthur has a chance to (possibly) Quest with De'kra and Hybros; on the other, I'm sad, because Arthur's plan to help Thormanil run an extortion scheme is ruined. EDIT: And Nerwen, and Thothwick, I REALLY want a chance to talk more with those two. Nerwen in particular might help Arthur grow softer in some ways, particularly if De'kra is involved. ...I just realized I've basically named half of the people from Dastan that Arthur hasn't yet had major interactions with. Those Quests really were a magnet for people with great stories to tell, like most of Zepher and Doc and JimB's Quests, actually.

"Most likely within the week", Arthur replied, "If I'm not mistaken, the notice on the Board mentioned the 10th, that's less than four days from now; closer to three, now that the sun is almost set." A stray thought came to Arthur's mind, but he absently dismissed it; now was not a good time to take note of the peculiarities of the flow of time, and besides, his friend De'kra had a more removed perspective of such things--the shade would make sense of it when next they met. He hoped the Assassin would return to the Hall before he himself departed, though--of the three other Heroes who'd signed up, he only knew two--he'd fought alongside Tarn in Dastan for a brief time in the final battle, and had loaned the mage Siercon some gold mere hours before both departed for their own Quests. Worthy allies, true, but unfamiliar nonetheless. Thinking on it a moment longer, he continued. "I think Tarn might make good use of both those items, though he, too, appears to be short on Gold." Seeing Siercon sitting not far away, a plan comes to mind. "Perhaps if you sign up for the Quest, you, I, Siercon, and Tarn could pool our resources to do all our shopping with Elphaba, and work out terms to be repaid along the Quest. What do you say? Shall we go over and have a chat together?"

Very true--I like long Quests when I can actually DO things. Now that I think about it, I complained (too much ) during both Quests 17 and 31 when activity dropped.
-
I actually prefer the longer-length Quests 17, and Dastan were all about 3 months long, which is just perfect for me; it allows for lots of room for experience and loot gain, while at the same time allowing plenty of change in the outside world in the meantime--some of the greatest fun I've had in the Hall is having Arthur react to recent events as related to him by the Library and the other Heroes.
-
Help me bug Doc incessantly once he gets back from his trip, then. Most likely, if approved, my Quest will be departing sometime in January or February, given my current stage of planning, though it could always come a little later if need be.
-
PM me the list when you've finalized your design, please; Haldor's a character I can see interacting with Arthur a lot in the future, especially if they both make it on the final Wren Quest. @Zeph: Really? Interesting...you aren't planning on utilizing the Cathedral of Mercuito, by any chance, are you? Speaking of which, I need to go poke Doc again. Never mind, my sense of time is really skewed. On another note, should Arthur buy a Magnifying Glass or a Magic Compass? Which would be more useful in the long run?

It's not. Also @ Quest 44: Why have none of you thought to have Skuld use her Scroll of Sealing during this Quest? Skuld is seriously one of the coolest party NPCs we've seen thus far, but no one seems to pay attention to her at all. Also, weird request: I really, really want to see Skuld talking with Hoptet, it just seems like they'd get along well and it'd be a great chance to expose Hoptet to some unfamiliar beliefs. Sandy, Professor Flitwick, any chance Hoptet could meet the Heroes for a short chat when the Heroes take Skuld home?

The Marketplace sells WP:5 shields. It's not fantastic, but then again everyone has to start somewhere. I was actually thinking more along the lines of RP terms--i.e. if someone got a stupidly lucky hit on XX and killed him, Nyx a Hero could bring him back to life. Also, for enemies like the Pheles rod--if it had accidentally been destroyed too early, the Heroes could have brought it back. (For that matter, they could have brought Shaun back as well, though with him being undead that sort of doesn't make sense. Also, I literally just made the Shaun of the Dead connection.

Don't you just love it when people don't bother to read the posts in a Quest and just go with their own plan based solely upon their own stats? Especially when the Party Leader has already outlined a plan for everyone? [/sarcasm] Actually, odd question: is it possible for Heroes to use a Phoenix Essence on an enemy that has been knocked out? Probably not, especially given the purpose of Necromancers, but still, best to get confirmation on this.

Yes, Doc's helping me out with sets. Once he gets back to his collection, the edifice of the Cathedral will be first thing we work on.

Arthur approached Thormanil once more. The Raider looked most displeased, but Arthur hoped that had to do with Alexandre's departure and not his own sign-up for Quest 51. "Thormanil," he says, "It appears I find myself in need of Gold. If you could loan me 126 gold for a Diamond and Magic Compass, I'd be most grateful." He glances at the other man's expression and decides to add, "You know, we don't have to wait for our shot in the Fields to make some money. A good Quest would be a great thing--we could get some decent experience and loot, and I have a feeling we'd be back before the year closes." He pauses, considering. "Unless you have some quarrel with the Ji Pei or some great love for the Bonapartes, I think you'd make a fine Quest-mate on Quest 51." Arthur falls silent to wait for Thormanil's reply.
-
Is it just me, or does there always seem to be a surplus of either Heroes or Quests? I mean, not too long ago almost EVERYONE was in the Hall at the same time, and there weren't too many Quests available for sign-ups. Now there are three Quests open, and only five people have signed up for any of them. Hopefully Quests 44 and/or 47 will finish up soon, so we can have some company on Quest 51.

After having watched Quest 42, and followed the current Unlimited Quest team, I'm doubly reminded of the importance of having SP, especially if, as a Berserker, you can't switch targets once you get low on Health. That was Benji's biggest problem as a Warden, as well--not enough SP.
-
Tarn's back! Yaay! Hey, Quest 44-ies, don't have Skuld heal any of the enemies, otherwise she'll just heal the Pheles Rod.

Cronk is such a hypocrite.
