Please tell me they do. I got a character coming up who was originally going to be a prosecutor until I was reminded that Eubric has no judicial system, so he's more or less a Miles Edgeworth lookalike at this point. They do. Interestingly, it's actually possible (within the laws of Mercutio) for the Heroes of Quest 56 to sue Masson, as the nearest living representative of the Apprentice, who posted a false Quest listing (that is, a fraudulent contract). The same goes for several Quests, actually--though note that, as far as I see, Masson would be the only defendant who would be willing to appear in court to answer for his cousin's actions. ...dammit, Endgame, I think I'm going to have to recruit you. (Both for finishing sets and for planning for the potential future.) Shame...oh, well, there'll be later Quests I'll be able to host you on.

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours

Arthur repeats. -
Haldor. Haldorhaldorhaldorhaldor. Haldor. No, seriously, either you take him or you make Scorpiox co-QM. It just wouldn't be right without him.

Priests of Mercutio are contract lawyers. All I'm sayin'.

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours

OOC: I'm a Mystic Knight, not a Knight or a Paladin, so I imagine the Zap-Tap would only work if I rolled Damage myself. It's basically a slightly upgraded Counterstrike Gloves. -

OOC: Not that it particularly matters this time (since I didn't hit Indiacca), but Arthur was using Ice. Same damage, just different element. Also, Sandy runs Damage and Special Damage as "no effect" when attacking an ally. And as usual, Enchantments go to shield. "Ellaria, Ahvialyn, Lady Calaryl, are you all right? I'm switching to cast Ice at Indiacca from the back this time, if you want to take a moment to heal yourself." "Lady Nerwen, if you could Frail one swordsman and then heal one of our allies, that'd be great. Lord Boomingham would be wide open to take the one you Frail, then. Everyone else save the Duke should target the Chieftan or Indiacca, my armor can absorb the other swordsman's Free Hit. The Duke should continue his previous action." -

OOC: Yes, it's been done in the past. In fact the final battle of...67, was it?...the same strategy was used, again for purposes of a chance to roll Sentinel. -

"All right, this should be a snap. Master Shawe, I believe it would be best if you used the Ranged battle style from the Front Row for the moment, to maximize the odds that your sword will hit the Spearman and bypass his defenses. Lady Ellaria, if you could focus on using my Unlucky Horseshoe to Jinx the enemies one by one, that would be fantastic. Lady Nerwen--care to Frail Lord Boomingham's target before he strikes?" "Duke Bârbêthân, I'm going to make a strange request, but: I think it would be best for you to practice your battle skills by attacking me, preferably from the Back Row for safety. My armor will absorb the worst of it, and it will help you to improve your battle skills--not to mention it would allow you an opportunity to jump into the Sentinel stance if need be, which you can't do if you're not in battle stance." Arthur casts Ice at the Pongcanis Chieftan from the Back Row. "Lady Nerwen, put me first and let me absorb Indiacca's Free Hit--it won't hurt too bad, and it'll keep him from buffing his allies." -
I'm also in the market for a trident, if Posades doesn't check his PMs.

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: Doc, did you see my previous OOC? I figure all of the relevant NPCs were among our troops (and presumably still alive, even), so it wouldn't be a big deal to have reclaimed my stuff before we went inside. Also, Grand Tonics restore 15 Ether, not 10. If Calaryl gets to borrow my Sticky Gloves, Arthur will give her a Nostrum to drink. Otherwise, he's ready for battle. -
Can someone please tell Posades to check his damn PMs?

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours

"De'kra and I have both noticed such things before. There were a few times in the Hall in which time itself reversed, and few seemed to notice a thing--though in the largest occurrence, it seemed like entire days passed by, and nearly a week's worth of time was rewritten. Fortunately, that time a Mage of unknown origin made a portal to the fortress of Bric'bay, where many Heroes passed the time stop in safety...though there was still some major memory loss of that time--some attribute it to the wine, but it's more than possible that the rules of the universe itself stopped applying, especially considering all of the insane things that happened that none of us should have lived through." -
Question about Circle of Mages: will it still work if the original Mages have transferred to an Expert Class that doesn't use Ether? For example, if Arthur was a Skirmisher in the same party as an Archmage, would the Archmage still be able to use Arthur's scroll collection, even though Arthur was a Skirmisher? And I guess the same sort of thing goes for the other Expert Class interactions--if a Barbarian Chieftan NPC showed up in Thormanil's next Quest, for example, would the NPC still be Encouraged and Thormanil Inspired?

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: Whoops, forgot to reclaim my gear from Sir Kadarphazân, Saevel, and Elerylian. I'd prefer to lend the Sticky Gloves to Calaryl, the Cloak of Deception to Bârbêthân, and the Scarf of Misfortune to Shawe. "...Aaand second chance squandered. Throlar, please pass your old shield to the Duke, and Lady Calaryl, I think it would be best if you borrowed my Staff of the Cultist Battlemage--Lady Nerwen, would you mind letting me cast Luck on Lady Calaryl as well? Ought we call in the Knights as well?" After casting luck on Lady Calaryl, Arthur drinks a Grand Tonic, then double-checks and finds himself ready for battle. -
Re: Cutscenes, Zeph: do you hate them on principle, or do you just find them to be a pain to write and rarely able to achieve what they're supposed to achieve as effectively as they could?
-
Yeah, Arthur's done some flip-flopping too. Unavoidable considering how long we've been out--we change as people in that time, when it's only been a couple of days in-game. Also, can those Party Bombs please become a regular thing?

See also: Quest 8, Quest 53 (mechanically speaking, all things considered).

Welcome to Eurobricks! Good to see someone else around here from the LA area.

OOC: If only Chrome's Elven troops attack, they can't take damage, so by precedent of the hunt for Lady Leofwena, the battle should have ended automatically. I imagine that's why Doc has to delay. Also, don't hold up for me for any reason--I'm busy tomorrow and pretty much all of next week, so we can just move that RP bit to the Mopags or just get rid of it entirely. Would fit better vs. the Mopags anyway. -
...I am seriously tempted to start a Kickstarter or something to fund a new computer. Seriously, I am getting WAY too much flak for trying to use this overgrown toaster of a laptop for everything. >_<
-
I agree with Pie. Though I wouldn't be opposed to having two "pages" side-by-side if possible--it can get a bit annoying to scroll through everything at times, and text wouldn't help that one bit.
-
If there's anything I can do to help, let me know. Obviously, sets are my weak point as well, but if you'd like to steal an NPC of mine or something you've seen (or even want one you haven't seen ) for whatever reason, let me know.

You mean that Immune to Jinxed jerk who decided to drink a Nostrum on his first turn even though I was Lucky?

I think Death awards too much of a multiplier for what it is. Even at the tougher levels, a party could easily clear a good chunk of the Fields normally or with easier challenges, and then come back to an Easy-difficulty battle and enable Death for a quick +60 GP. I'd say swap it with one of the lower 2.x* or one of the higher 1.x* challenges. Also, Close Combat offers a pitifully low multiplier for what it is.
