Here's the story for 2015: Devolved Toa Nuva (now Mata), living on Spherus Magna, must collect some golden masks and fight the Lord of Skull Spiders, who is taking control of their villagers with skull spiders. See how easy that was? They don't need to throw away all of the established lore. In can be kept there, in the background, for them to call upon at any time, without getting in the way of the main story.

Wow, people will literally complain about anything. Anyway, does anyone have any idea how long we'll have to wait to expect follow-ups on LEGO.com? Surely this has happened before - people finding Ninjago pictures on the cache a while before release, etc.

You're forgetting that, in the last piece of story we got, Velika was going round killing everyone he considered a possible threat to him. Karzahni was his first victim, and he was Artakha's brother. Artakha himself was last seen in a Great Being fortress on Bota Magna, arguing with Tuyet, Miserix, Brutaka, Axonn, Vezon and Helryx... while Velika was outside working on rigging the place to blow. If he succeeded, it's possible that Artakha's mask was blown far away, and the Toa have to reclaim it. That's just my two cents.

In 2001, all the villains we got in set form were just possessed Rahi. The "Lord of Skull Spiders"'s name implies sentience and leadership, so I'm willing to bet that it will be a satisfying character instead of a generic enemy or mook.

I just had a sudden realization. In early 2009, the Agori were the defenders of the Glatorian in arena matches. Perhaps the Defenders are just Agori?

Teridax and the Makuta species don't have to return for Bionicle to succeed. There are countless other villains I can think of, most of which have red eyes just like in that picture - TSO, the Skrall, Skakdi, Barraki, Marendar etc. If I had to argue I'd say that the smooth front of the helmet that the red eyes belongs to looks most like a Skrall. Plus, what's to stop them from introducing new villains, like they have done every other year? And sure, Spherus Magna was reformed, but most of the planet is still untouched upon by story (for example the entirety of Bota Magna). They don't imply a reboot either. If that's the direction TLC wanted to take, they'd bring it back to basics and make sets with CCBS that closely resemble the 2001 era. Literally the only similarities to 2001 that is in the picture is the jungle theme and the names of the original six Toa. I don't remember the Matoran or Turaga being almost as big as the Toa themselves, nor do I remember golden armour or a special, as-of-yet unknown mask.

I don't know why people still think this is a reboot. The inclusion of the Defenders, the golden armour, Skull Spider and the jungle backgrounds heavily implies that this is a continuation (though one that is set in the future of the story to separate it from the serials).

I wouldn't be surprised if HF had a "Make up your own ending!" ending, considering that's what they always do at the end of each wave anyway. Also, the same thing happened with Slizers...

So instead of mask packs, you'll just get an extra random Kanohi in the set? It's an interesting theory...

Unless you have any sources to back up this rumour, I doubt it. We already know that Minecraft sets are regularly being released, they're working on a minifigure scale series, and we've even seen the minifigures themselves... so why be so secretive about it?

Don't worry guys, even if the reveal isn't Bionicle, don't be disheartened. There's already plenty of substantial evidence towards it coming back next year, but for all we know it might still be very early stages. It could always be revealed at NYCC instead (which was said to have been more likely than an SDCC reveal anyway).

I've been waiting for a Green Lantern set since the Super Heroes announcement in 2011... and to make it even better, it's not "Batman ft. GL" this time, it's "GL ft. Batman"! 2015 can't come soon enough, though there are still tons of this years' SH minifigs I have yet to get...

Another fake leak is floating around, so allow me to be the first to discredit its legitimacy. First of all, its set number doesn't match up with the other sets (775##), and on the side of the box is the picture of the Movie-Edition Kraahkan from Bricklink, which is a mold that was thrown away after 2003. I don't know who's making these fakes or for what purpose but it's starting to get irritating.

Mata feet with the new ball sockets would be great! In fact, ALL of the old Bionicle parts with the new sockets would be great...
