  1. Why will minifig count cause a hike in price ? On the second hand market, because of the "collectabilitly" of minifigs I can easily understand this, but why for Lego?
  2. I for one pray to the Lego gods that it doesn't .
  3. Frigintastic, simply out of this world! Interesting to see how big you made it. From the renderings I would expect something smaller, something between the size of an AT-AT and an AT-ST.
  4. One of the best (most thorough!) reviews I've ever read! This one is definitively a must-buy for me.
  5. If that was posted after I joined I totally missed it... But whoa! The 9493 looks a LOT better then the 6212! I can't be happier about not getting the 6212 (I almost did a couple of weeks ago). The new one is definitively a big improvement over it's predecessor, so if Lego keeps up the improvements (like what they did with the X-Wing), there is a lot of sets that would benefit from a face lift of this caliber.
  6. I stand corrected then . When I asked about the differences some weeks ago I didn't get much feedback, so I inferred that there weren't many differences - basically different minifigs. But from your list the new X-Wing is a true step forward. Cool!
  7. I don't have anything against reissuing sets, as long as there is some palpable improvement with the new set in relation to the older one, like with the #7144 Slave I and now the current issue #8097. But honestly, the differences between the X-Wing #6212 with the future #9493 seem to be minimal at best - just using different minifigs is NOT an improvement in my eyes.
  8. Awesome set! It's on my to get list. And I agree with the author, it should be WW rescuing SM, and not the opposite. Well, at least that's how I'll set it up.
  9. There's LOTS of stuff to reissue, but I can't think of many models that haven't been produced yet.
  10. VERY cool! It's nice to see a kid showing such creativity.
  11. Just a thought: maybe Lego is pushing out so many different minifigs because they're running out of new sets/ships ? Except for CW, I can't think of much stuff they haven't done yet.
  12. From what I saw, a very accurate assessment .
  13. Yep, they sure look nice. I'm looking forward to them.
  14. Darn, he has an unopened Republic gunship...
  15. A valid argument. If everybody keeps the helmet on the head on 99% of the time, why spend money on something you don't see or use ?
  16. Guys, a suggestion, but I really don't know if this is possible with the forum's software. Over at LugBrasil, we have a very interesting feature. If you use the following command line in your post: [brickset]8097-1[/brickset] It appears just as 8097 on the body of your post, but when you pass your mouse pointer over the text you see a small thumbnail of that set. I think it would be a pretty nifty feature to have here, but again, I don't have the foggiest if the software can accept that kind of code.
  17. Trying (hard!) to get a Slave 1 (#8097) .
  18. Collect unopened Lego sets?!? That just isn't possible in my universe. It would be like the rain falling up.
  19. PLEASE do! Being a big model like that I'm certain that you can come up with something interesting.
  20. Spiderman has almost as many films/shows as Batman, and you already have Spiderman sets (but did they sell well?), and definitively hasn't been around in the spotlight for the general public as long as Batman except for comic book fans. In 2012 we'll have Superman, so basically Lego is covering the bases. FF is largely unknown compared to Batman, I would say that for the not-comic book fan the X-Men are more popular then FF.
  21. What other hero, Marvel or DC, has had so many movies and cartoons on the big and small screen?
  22. Awesome! Is there any internal features?
  23. That makes a whole lot of sense. Thanx for the info!
  24. Can anybody comment on that?
