  1. I'm not in. Just kidding of course I'm in! Who wouldn't join a free raffle?
  2. Even if they are cheap non-LEGO "toys" (I call them trash as they always end up in the dump, too bad they don't give higher-quality toys), I might pick some/a couple up as they go for quite a bit unopened on Bricklink. Anyone know when this starts?
  3. I don't think it has to do with building skill, thats's what the age suggestions are for. Odd ,I've never heard of these before. I would guess you could save up some amount and send them in for a t-shirt or a little set.
  4. I spy more LEGO! On the second guitar you showed, tell me those aren't LEGO tubes going to the "dissconnected' piece. Cool guitars, but they are a little too over-rusted. Also, I don't really like the glowing orb in the second one, it's not very steam.
  5. I dought LEGO meant to imitate Lord of the Rings, or ride on the popularity of it. In fact, it is quite unfair to say that. So many popular titles are based in this fantasy world of Elves and Dwavres that LEGO can ride on fans of just about all of these titles. You know, it can take three or more years for LEGO to create a theme from point of conception to release. So it might make sense that LEGO is hoping to ride the wave of Pirates of the Carribean fans. Yet agian, LEGO is probably trying to avoid Pirates of the Carribean after MegaBloks got it's lesence, and I can picture some fool saying, "Oh noes, LEGO is copying MegaBloks!!!!11!11one!!1". It was probably in TLG's best interest to wait a while and try not to let too much fantasy in their own Pirate theme, sticking to thier Pirate theme's roots.
  6. Go ahead and ask. No hurt will come from inquiry! In fact just about every place I go with LEGO I ask if they have anything new in the back!
  7. I can't seem to get the form to work, even with Hinckley's PDF I would be grateful if someone sent this in for me: thank you very much if someone could
  8. I thought you alredy had that hair? It was in your sig a couple weeks ago.
  9. I must resist the urge to say I drink your milkshake... there it went. LOVELY pictures. I the condors and kid picture. You should enter it in a competion or fair. By the way, all the minifigs I take on vacation don't usually come back...
  10. Death button? Just kidding, awesome bus! I like the drivers area, the headrests are cool! How many people can fit in this bus, and do you have a link to the factory page? (I want one )
  11. If it's you spending all your money she's worried about, you might try looking for cheap LEGO collections - not only will you get more bang for your buck, but you will please her as well by showing her you know how to spot a bargain and save money!
  12. $40 US for around 40 lbs of LEGO, found on craigslist. pics
  13. CONSPIRACY!!! No, just kidding. I think the 50 year aniversary is for the LEGO brick. I am not sure what that set contains... Windows and doors, but of what type and are they LEGO system? The file it is under is accesories... did LEGO ever make windows and doors... for real houses? ! I am getting ahead of myself. The 50th might be for the modern LEGO brick... Further investigation shows that this set, released in 1858, has the newer non-slotted bricks and the tubes system. But after further investigation on sets in 1957, other sets have the stud and tube design. Then I found this. So the 50th was of bricks that fit together. I also heard here that that church earlier mentioned wasn't ABS plastic, but something else. Anyone else have anything to add?
  14. I heard about this on TBB. I am somewhat suprised you ran into them on accident! (You did, right?) Those are are all quite large. I especially like the solar system, although pluto has been removed as a planet since about a year ago! It is amazing how the Solar System and Aloha Pencil balance!... Sinner must be angry, Nathan seems to be using artificially created gravity! I found this rather annoying: As if someone who is in the mall doesn't know where they are. It also sound kind of snobby somehow.
  15. I have a suggestion - could you use ears from the werewolf head? I think it might be easier to make, plus there is more suface for gluing and a better "ear-like" shape. I read in another forum that Warhammer paint works well on plastics and there are lots of colors, too.
  16. TLC considers Pirates an evergreen theme. Lets go down the checklist. -Rennaisance of LEGO Town - check -Rennaisance of LEGO Space- check -Rennaisance of LEGO Castle- check -Rennaisance of Pirates- soon to come? :cry_happy: :cry_happy:
  17. A really good way to find the piece is to find a set that has it in any color, search the set, go to it's inventory, and click on the said piece, and then the color you need (or if you need the set it comes in, click "included in sets"). It's really pretty easy. By the way, no probem! It took me like half a minute !
  18. It's Dark bley in two sets: Aquabase Invasionm and The Batcopter: The Chase for the Scarecrow. Hope I helped out!
  19. Sothe visor is not the official? I thought it was a Mars Mission visor... silly me.
  20. Since when do you need a mold for a stamp? (which they already have anyway) However, printing is expensive, especially on minifig parts (the printed minifig torso being the most expensive part that TLC produces) so it is a little bit unrealistic to expect TLC to print those.
  21. The second one down on the far right looks like he was aplying matching face paint when he was decapitated!

That's great! You might want to use an Agents suit for an aditional cyclist, and for a couple helmets you could use the SW rebel one, it looks similar to a streamlined helmet if you know what I mean. Great road, I want to make SNOT surfaces but have a small amount of regular bricks.
  23. Finding used LEGO offline isn't easy. But, if you do find it, you've basically hit the jackpot. People underestimate the price of the brick, and you get a steal. It's even better when you get a whole collection free. Sure, you might have to sort out a couple of megabloks but the LEGO usually outweighs the MB if you play it right. So, what's this thread about? Well, I thought it would be neat to post great LEGO deals you've gotten in your area (or online, that's cool too). Just say what you got, where you got it and how much you paid, it's that simple (and you get bragging rights too! ) If you want to add a picture, feel free to! I'll start it off: -creator 4115 box filled to the brim, however about half was MB. I got it for $2 at a yard sale. It had a fig, so I'm not complaining -Mindstorms RIS 1.5, mostly complete with all the good stuff ... $12 at Goodwill (Thrift store chain) -SpongeBob Krusty Krab, $3 also at Goodwill. -a 2-foot-tall pail about 3/4 filled with pure LEGO, from a neighbor who was moving... free ! Please tell us, your fellow EBers about your bargain loot!
  24. Ahh, free LEGO. Nothing better. I have recived (or bought very cheaply): •A two foot tall pail about 3/4 full from my neighbor •Minstorms RIS 1.5 - not complete, but had smart brick and motors, all the valuables - $12 at Goodwill! •Krusty Krab SpongeBob set - complete, $3 from that same Goodwill. I might also soon ask another neigbor if he still wants his LEGO. He's 20, so I'm pretty sure he doen't want it anymore. Anyone know any good ideas to approach him? (I'm 13, and we don't make all that much contact.)
  25. Look at this.(sort by: Highest Pice) Talk about insane prices! I could buy a nice car for the price of that toy fair invitation!
