LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Tauntaunwampa replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yes, I did see the Watto and the other sets, they're at the front of the photograph. I do agree with you on that we will not see many sets in this picture, particularly the ones that you suggested. It's already been confirmed that we are not seeing that Yavin set at the bottom. If you have played the game would would of noticed in the bonus level that several of the buildings were taken directly from sets. Weathertop, Rivendell, Helms Deep, The Black Gate etc. I could go one. What I'm saying that because I saw in the game and now again in the lego office photo. There could be a possbility that it could become a set.I'm just speculating, not confirming. I have 2 sources which correlate and backup my point. Neither definitely confirm that we are getting a particular set, but seeing it in both the office picture and the game, we could see the Lorien set. People just really want that set. If they see hope they'll cling to it hahahah- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Tauntaunwampa replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Looking at the pictures of the offices at LEGO. I think that most of the Lord of the Rings sets that are featured on the back wall will become sets. You can already see Helms Deep and what looks like Shelob. You can also see the set Rivendell. There is also a set in the first column, third grid down that looks like the one featured in the bonus level in Lego Lord of the Rings. Knowing that some of the buildings in the Lego Lord of the Rings Video Game bonus level are actually real sets there is a slight possibility that those sets that are featured on that back wall are going to be real sets. I see a Balrog (first column, 4 grids down), the Lorien set featured in the game, Orthanc. I can't make out the other sets but it looks as if we are getting another Isengard/Orc forge.- 7,499 replies

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Tauntaunwampa replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think that the descriptions have been confused. There was talk about a year ago describing that there was going to be an LEGO Flying Dutchman (seperate from the LEGO Spongebob Squarepants set). There were no preliminary pictures but there was a couple of users on the forums who had connections with the workers of the LEGO Stores and they confirmed that there was going to the a LEGO Flying Dutchman that was over 2000 pieces. It was soon cancelled and nothing more has been heard of it. This is all from memory so it may be hazy. I seriously doubt that there will be a corsair ship with 10-12 mini-figures. The ships had minimal screen time and would not be a good set for the line's second wave. Also, to debunk rumors of a mixed Hobbit and Lord of the Rings wave, LEGO has stated in the past that these lines are separate- 7,499 replies

Super Hero Caption Contest! Week One

"Holy limited edition Batman! This time the exclusive figures are hunting us down!" -
I think that Disney would do a great job of it. Star Wars was getting stale, near to the point of cringe worthy after Episode 1. The storyline was horrible; there were no characters that the audience could relate to etc. etc. What Lucas did create in the prequel trilogy that was amazing was an expansion of the Star Wars universe. This expansion has led to many spin offs and side stories which is evident due to the amount of comics, books, games etc. which are not only limited to the prequel trilogy. Disney could be creating one of these spin offs. It would introduce new characters, new places, and new vehicles. A goldmine for merchandising rights. This is where I think Disney saw the potential in the ownership of Lucasfilm. I highly doubt that Disney would start where Episode 6 left off or visualise some of the Expanded Universe material considering that the actors are too old for their roles .If you argue that these actors can be replaced, I don't think it would be appropriate to bring other actors in to play those role (Zack Effron as Luke Skywalker) as that story has been told and it would be disrespectful to the other actors as well cause a rampaging fire of anger from the Original trilogy fans. The films produced by Disney would have to be completely separate from the Fall of Anakin/Rise of Luke storyline. Taking this into account I think that the new characters will be alike of the Luke, Leia and Han trio but not the same. The new films will somewhat be influenced by the fall of the Republic and Rise of the Empire events because these are major events in the films and in the context of the Star Wars Universe itself. Comparing this to the Marvel Universe, The events which transpired in the films have started a timeline of its own. Taking some aspects from the comics and using them for inspiration material. But the point here is that the comic and films are almost completely separate from each other. All that they have in common is that they are in the same universe (characters, subplots etc.) While I think that Disney will go along a path similar to Marvel, they will still keep to the timeline set out by George Lucas in his previous films but the use different characters and different events that ultimately will be effected by the greater events that occurred in the George Lucas era films, will be of more use to Disney than simply picking up where a story left off.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Tauntaunwampa replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Exactly my point. A $20/$30 set would appeal to both audiences with a reasonable seasoning of minifigures. The set itself would be minimal, only containing very obvious details that are seen in the film. I did have another thought today, We didn't recognise which part of the film that this particular lego Bane came from which means that he could be considered the neutral version, which is why we see him in the teaser photos with this uniform on. My point is that despite the connection that i said previously, the use of this costume of Bane in the teaser pictures created a neutral image of Bane which LEGO based the minifigure on. So with this neutrality, they could still be producing LEGO sets of the BAT and the Tumbler. Why do they tease us? Lego are so cruel sometimes. I really hope i have made sense -

Thank you :D. It would be a real shame if they didn't do the BAT but you have to think about it in terms of LEGOs market. Kids wouldn't want a flying vehicle that looks like a beetle. If they haven't seen the movie, it just wouldn't make any sense to them. After all it isn't the classical superhero type movie, this is Nolan, Its heaps deeper than that. LEGO could of gone with the play set approach as it would be appealing to the younger audience as well as the older audience (by providing a TDKR set). Depending on the sales of this set, there could be a slight possibility that there will be a wave 2 but this won't happen for AT LEAST another year or two. Again, I'm only guessing, I don't like to guess what the set will be without actual confirmation For the sake of the risk of not having vehicles, can someone please prove me wrong :D -

If you notice, the minifigure of Bane has no sleeves. Having watched it yesterday I noticed that there was only one scene where Bane had no sleeves. The set could be a play set like the spiderman one rather than various vehicles which would be most unfortunate as they have so much potential for vehicles. It could include play features associated with the movie. -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion

Not to mention that there is a missing serial number (9475) in the Lord of the Rings sets. I would prefer TDKR sets as there would be more appeal for it at this time of the year. -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
Tauntaunwampa replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
There is a possibility that there will be one or two sets released for each of the movies under discussion (The Dark Knight Rises, Green Lanters, Man of Steel) So for example with the Dark Knight Rises, all the fans expect (in terms of minifigures) would be Batman, Bane Catwoman and perhaps another. So it would be a largish set consisting of most of the well known elements from the movies such as the Tumbler as well as the minifigures. There would not be room for smaller characters such as a policeman or a thug. We have already seen it with Spiderman as we have got spiderman himself, a main villain and another figure as well as a largish base. If i'm not expressing my point clearly enough i feel that rather than releasing themed waves (Comic Book Batman, The Avengers) We see more themed sets (One or to sets for each movie) being released in one wave. -
Just added another plate at the bottom of my Black Peal to make it appear the same size as the Queen Anne's Revenge. I will be taking both ships up to two decks sometime in the future. There is one problem with the extension though, the sails. The sails on the Pearl are too unevenly distributed, I tried to even them out but it doesn't work because of the cannons. I also tried moving the sail closest to the stern but that didn't work either. Hope you like, pieces supplied from Bricklink.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

The Skiff looks nice, but I'm not sure if it would go well with my collection. I might just bricklink Boba and Luke, they're pretty good minifigures.
