I need that head Phes! Its really cheap on Bricklink but I shant expect you to buy a head just for my icon. If you could see that'd be great... because I am really liking the quality of these pics. I will call next in line after Evil Yoda... I hope you have that head. I would keep the same body, same epaulettes(white) and same hat, and a black (cloth, not plastic) cape... but I will give more details when we find out if you have that head or not...

Desert Expedition. I was unfortunate to be going through a mild dark ages during this era, but I still knew it had potential... as I made sure I got a Scorpion Tracker (great little jeep for such a low price!), Bi-Wing Baron (one of the best biplanes), and an Oasis Ambush (very cool little set). But one set I never got my hands that I wanted (I remember seeing it in stores and wanting it but rather getting something else) was the Desert Expedition. The jeep was cool but the PLANE. That Sopwith Camel kind of plane made the set. I am glad to say I have almost every plane for the Adventurers, sometimes 2, but that plane I still don't have. I would love it. If anyone wants to talk about selling that set let me know!! I love all the vehicles with it... it is a whole expedition, with good guys and bad guys, and some neat items. Although it has no buildigns, I rather hated the buildings of the Egyptian Theme (most were pretty crappy), but it has vehicles, and I love Vehicles. I'd like to put in the truck in Pharohs Forbidden Ruins is pretty cool but it definately needs a better roof... if I recall it is kind of wierd how it closes at the top.

good choice for review Phes. This set definately gets a 5. I have a horror story about this set... behold... I was in the local K-mart and I was in the Lego section of the store (as usual) and it was in sad shape (yes friends, WORSE than most current Wal-Mart Lego sections!) I should have been able to tell the paticular K-Mart was going out of business, but I didn't know. I saw Lagoon Lock-Up, and with my (at the time) small interest in Pirates, it is a surprise I really wanted the set. I Occassional got really into Pirates (which is whY I was fortunate to have at least a few Pirate sets) but usually i was a town/space kind of guy (which is funny, because now I am a castle/pirate guy). I saw the beautiful set and loved it. I had remembered seeing it in books but never on shelves (if I did it was at Toys R Us and I was too busy looking at other sets). I asked my mom to buy it... and I asked my grandma to buy it - to no avail. I was heartbroken. Probably about 12 years later and I still don't have that amazing set... it hurts me every day... if anyone wants to sell it for a decent price, I'd love it. This set is a small fleeting glimpse into what could have been a much better Pirates theme (it was hard to get better, but this could have opened many doors). The UK name was Soldiers Tavern, which means this is a bar. Even if it is a military tavern, it is a building that could EASILY be converted to Civilian use (take away the jail and the cannon LOL) Not that you need to, as soldiers need their mess hall and booze, but imagine the possibilities of Colonial Taverns, Shops, Blacksmiths, and Merchant Docks... it could be amazing. They could be on the seafront like this one, or just inland (which would require grey baseplates probably... but green (like cannon cove) or yellow (to imply a dirt road) would do well too. This set has a huge amount of figures (5!!! that would be almost unthinkable for a set of its size now) and lots of awesome pieces. It even comes with one of those Lattice windows which always kick megablocks. I can't think of anything to make this set better... it is just perfect. Definately a serious nomination for a Legend (as in my opinion every pirate set deserves rerelease... ) that Lego should consider. I'd buy 10 probably. Bley and NewBrown couldnt ruin this one.

I actually liked the female lego figures. Its a shame that they became "rare" (the old female Forestwoman can go for up to $35.00 on Bricklink!!). They added a new dimension, but as all arguments say - most of Lego's fans are boys. As much as I'd like to see more female minifigs (oh and maybe a returned to quality, non juni0rized sets and "non this is how you play" themes), I know we will never see them. I think we should be happy if Lego would just return to good themes and included the female figs in at least the same frequency as they used to. I think a "Time-Travellers" theme would be cool... where the Time-Travellers (they could even be The Adventurers!!!!) have to go back in time to document/change certain events where Sam Sinister has altered them... or taken things from them... there could be things like travelling to the Colleseum to save an Emperor (Sam may have kidnapped him or something non-violent) that changed history... they could go to different periods of time... Prehistoric (Dinosaurs again?) Ancient (Cavemen?) Classical (Roman/Greece/Egyptian), Medieval (Europe), Imperial (Pirates/Colonial)19th Century (Wild West) and than maybe a "Current Day" (which would be in the 1930s/1940s in the Adventurers Timeline that has the time machine) and they have to do certain things to redo/change things that Sam did to make the current time back to normal! This could either revolve around history to be able to teach kids, or revolve around a made up event, in a historically accurate period (and the buildings, items, weapons, characters of the period would be used to teach). This would be good for kids, TLG, and AFOLs! This would work as the only new pieces would need to be for the Classical Period because Lego has no Roman/Greek pieces. (Lego already has Dinosaurs (Dino Island), Cavemen (just need maybe new Torsos/heads), Medieval (Castle), Imperial (Pirates), 19th Century (Wild West) and current (The Adventurers). If they wanted they could even go into the future (current day) and teach about computers or SOMETHING. It would be amazing.

When I get on to board a plane the metal detector goes off because of my Katana. LoL. Nice Vig... this is a world of Lego... just because he wears a turban doesnt mean he is Muslim! Last time I checked there was no religions/skin colors in the lego SYSTEM World (no, the black Ambulance Driver from Spiderman and the Basketball guys DON'T count!) (p.s. correct me if i'm wrong!)

PEOPLE! Thats amazing!!! That makes those sets look pretty good, and they are back to doing GOOD displays for their sets. The Viking one is still computer animated backgrounds, but this one is like the olden days - paper mache and lego trees and background buildings made out of Lego! Awesome!

I keep wishing/praying/hoping that they'll make a Pirates of the Caribbean line. It would be perfect; they already have most of the needed molds for pirate stuff; it fits in with their liscencing trend, and the movies are marketed towards Lego's core audience anyways! Plus they'll get at least two years out of it, if they start RIGHT THIS MINUTE. There's one movie due this year, and then another next year too. *sigh* I know it'll never happen :( But imagine; a Black Pearl and Interceptor model... *sigh* Yup. me and my friends discussed this. There would definately be The Black Pearl, The Intercepter, probably no Dauntless (it just isn't in the movie enough and the kids will already have the massive Black Pearl), there would be Jack Sparrows sinking boat (the one he arrives at Port Royal in) and probably the cave battle scene, and maybe the jail... there could definately be more. Unfortunately I remember reading somewhere that Megablocks got the POTC Liscence... sorry to be the bearer of horrifyingly bad news...

Not bad, it just seems like it should be a bit lower. Seems a little tall for a car. But other than that... 2 thumbs up.

This is amazing! Very simple, but I like. It makes me really, really, REALLY wish lego would do a "Desert Knights" theme in the vein of classic castle... maybe I should try to do that... make some 'Desert Knight' MOC's... ohh... but Castle stuff costs so much and I don't have enough to make it... but I could try... I just dont want to haul out all my lego again... my room is so clean X-D I'd give your MOC a 9/10... I would love to see a whole theme like this - classic castle with Egyptian/Middle-eastern influence... would be aweeesome.

Space fans should be happy. I'm not sure, but I know that TONNES of castle fans would kill for a Lord of the Rings Theme with the quality of the Star Wars theme. Same goes for a well-designed Pirates of the Carribean Theme. I would be in joy buying these sets, and even if they have SOME specialized parts that blatantly make it of the LOTR or POTC world, you can take those out and use the other 90-95% pieces that aren't super specialized. Space fans should be happy they are still getting blasters, windshields, engines, boosters, yadayayada! I would love the return of Classic Space (I used to be a HUGE space fan... I have tonnes of Classic Space sets and parts that I dont use anymore because I am a Pirates/Castle/Adventurers fan... I wish I had realzied this when I was younger). If Classic Space returned it'd be a step in the right direction! And vahkimetru... do you want comments on the set or the photoshopping... because the set is a little hard to see.

This is incredibly sad! Adventurers was one of THE great themes (which also includes Castle, Town, Train, Space, Wild West, and my personal favourite.. PIRATES). I remember back before we even knew about the DINO line, there was an image that said "Dino" and it had a cool propeller plane and it was possibly a prototype for a never released new set for an Unreleased Adventurers line. I want to get all the Adventurers sets one day... but I am broke... and I still need more pirates.

I'd probably have to say Star Wars. Who buys those sets anyway? I guess lego thought there would be a huge devoted following of Star Wars who would buy every set. Now THAT backfired! *yoda* (lol...) I wouldn't at all think Time Cruisers was an utter failure. They brought out Time Twisters a year later. I doubt it did incredible, but it couldn't have been as bad as Jack Stone or the utterly painful Basketball. (I still see hundreds of those crappy things everywhere)

In Winnipeg, the only store you can go to without being horribly dissapointed is Toys R Us. It doesn't have HALF the space it used to (Oh... I remember the days of the early to mid 90's... When half of an entire BACK ROW of the store had lego... just massive walls of lego... oh god... I wish I could go back... Now at my Wal-Mart and Zellers, lego takes up maybe 1 or 2 sections. Whereas Megablocks and other cheap buildings companies have the rest of the aisle. Whoever was talking about smaller sets selling well is damn correct. When I was a kid I ONLY got sets more than $30.00 or $40.00 on my Birthday or Christmas. Even for good report cards I remember the best I would get is $20.00... and I was good at trying to go higher! Not that I complained, because back than a $20.00 was actually cool. I think Lego is in trouble... whether people want to admit it or not... snefroe1 hit the nail on the head. Lego is losing its loyal fanbase. If they don't start making better sets that aren't just fads and trends. And they can't just keep making Star Wars sets (eventually they WILL run out LOL... even if they do all the extended Universe stuff... alot of the non-collector buyers will have no clue what the extended universe stuff is and may not buy it unless it has Luke or Han or Chewie or Darth). I don't know what Lego can do. I want them to bring back better set design and the general aura of the old lego, but updated with the better minifigs and the new bley (I dont have THAT much old grey so its not terrible for me). I don't think the Pirates line as was would sell very good in todays market besides to people like Phes, us non-Inquisition pirate fans, and a few kids who get it. If they updated and took inspiration from Pirates of the Carribean (they made Johnny Thunder who is a blatant ripoff of Indiana Jones - lets see some crazy dark pirate character!). Same with Castle. The new Knights Kingdom in my opinion is terrible (not as bad as the last 2!!!) but it is at least updated to how kids today want it. Now lets just make it GOOD.

Cool Phes!I like it. My only problem with the set is that the Lego System Pirates never used horses. This would be much more a Napoleonics Era set... if Lego ever had the brains to explore that incredible era in their sets. Perhaps calling this set a "Imperial Boarding Party" and taking away the horse and the cannon and maybe putting another soldier in their would be interesting. Besides the Horse, I love this MOC... I would definately buy 50 of these. It brings back a time when you looked at sets and imagined the possibilities. This is only an army set (like you say, the Frontier Patrol)... try making a small building next time... perhaps in the vein of 6259 Broadsides Brig... or start even smaller... like the (in my opinion) simpleand tiny brilliance of 1795 Imperial Cannon.(one of my favourite sets for some reason) I would love to see how you do this. Maybe I should pull out my lego again and try to make a small 'cute' lego set. *y* And what does JiPay mean about the comment that a set like that is going to be released?! CONFUSED.

Yes! You can intersect them! It seems easier for the PIRATE Fan to use Castle elements - paticularily for buildings - I have wanted to make a Fortress out of grey Castle Pieces... Hideouts with Black Castle pieces... Many of the non-armoured Castle Bodies can be used for Civilians in the pirate time-line - that also works with pirate-bodies in the Castle timeline! Go for it! There just can't be an armoured Knight fighting an Musket wielding Imperial Guard! Unless you want it to of course!

Cool Ship! I love the roof and dark bley/gray that it has! That REALLY makes me want to see a good non juni0rized castle sets again! And most importantly a NAVAL Castle theme... If not at least lets get some System Pirates back! WHat a shame it will never, EVER, happen!

Paul Martin's campaign sucked so its no wonder he lost. Can you believe those adds they had out? I don't like Conservatives but something had to happen. As long as Harper doesn't try dismantling Public Healthcare or becoming buddy buddy with the United States(I want us to be close to the United States, without them we are ALOT worse off)... but the fact Harper has told them to fook off in concerns to OUR Arctic Waters, has made me actually like the guy. I am all for gay marriage and peoples rights, and I don't like how Harper is going to try to take away gay Marriage... but if the Free Vote doesnt change the matter, than Harper is probably going to bury it and leave it alone. His childcare plan (if what I read was correct) was a little better than the Liberals. But than again, the Liberals were going to pay part of University Tuition... so i'm a little dissapointed about that. Paul Martin lost his fire. he used to be this crazy guy who was somewhat charismatic and you wouldn't mind backing. By the election, he was just pathetic. The NDP would be interesting but as someone said I dont think they could hold up enough. I would love to see them as the main opposition. If they could work the United States on things than I think it would be great for them to take power actually! Harper will be held in check by 3 left-leaning parties (The Liberals under Paul martin were leaning pretty far left). I think he won't be able to dismantle the Healthcare system or take away Gay marriage. And with his promise to defend Canadian Soverignity up north, i'm pretty excited to see what he can do. I still think he is a douche though LOL and I wonder if Stephen Harper will ever meet Bono and attempt to help Africa like Paul Martin did :oo
