  1. I really appreciate the site. I go to it all the time when I want references for older Technic sets rather than YouTube or places like Brickset. Gives me a quick and comprehensive view of things without needing to jump around in a YouTube video. It was especially helpful when I was making a MOC based on the Arctic Action line, so I'd hate to see the site go.
  2. That chassis looks fascinating. Can't wait to see how it turns out in the end.
  3. Apologies for necro-posting, but this is pretty cool. I should try this myself sometime.
  4. https://flic.kr/p/2skqdnZ The display I built for Brickworld Chicago this year. Ran out of pins and time to fully make it all I desired, but more pictures and design details can be found in the link below. Though in short, my goal was to create biomes for each of my Throwbot/Slizer MOCs using as much of the Technic library that I could. https://board.ttvchannel.com/t/world-of-throwbots-slizers-bwc-2026-display/73891?u=ajtazt
  5. And adding this to the list of things to try, because this is really cool. I'm surprised by how well it does run.
  6. Congrats to all winners and fellow competitors! Showed me that there is a whole lot more that could be done with these limits and things to start trying.
  7. Entry: Spinning Desk Toys Functions: Generally speaking, fidget when bored. Drinking Bird - Weighted back and forth rocking. Orbital Kinetic Sculpture - Multiple spinning rings. Images & Video: Technic Drinking Bird Technic Orbital Kinetic Sculpture Topic:
  8. Thanks! As for the bird, I tried a couple of experiments but couldn't get it to quite work. Plastic banging against plastic killed momentum and wasn't something I wanted in general, but rubber killed it even faster. I tried various solid and more hollow rubber against rubber for the beak hitting the cup, but it kept killing all momentum. If I had some rubber parts with air inside, maybe it would have had the bounce I wanted? Further testing required...and also I need to source some much older tires. I actually did that for one of its earlier versions...That I forgot to record because I'm not used to doing WIP photos/videos. But I found hitting the frame more fun and gave it a better spin. Or at least seemed like better spinning to me, less restricted.
  9. Very well done. The helicopter's functions surprise me the most between the pullback motor and the old hockey gear box (or spring box?) being used. I need to start experimenting more with both those parts.
  10. The use of pullbacks is a nice surprise. I would have thought those parts would add too much weight, but I guess that's what I get for not weighing them. Any further work on the truck yet?
  11. I like this direction a lot, it's very fun and creative. Looking forward to seeing the final versions!
  12. Thanks! I've been aware of Eurobricks, but for some reason I just haven't bothered to really check it out here. Looks neat and been enjoying going through this Technic section. Just need to remember to leave comments on stuff, since I can't be lazy and just give a Like. ___ Alright, I think I'm set on my pair! Technic Drinking Bird Technic Orbital Kinetic Sculpture
  13. Hello All! Perhaps cutting it close, but I want to try my hand at one of these contests. Hopefully I'll have more time to work these later today or tomorrow, but I'm thinking of doing a Drinking Bird and one of those...spinning planet things powered by magnets. I don't remember if they have an actual name but you'll get the idea in the second image below. Just prototyping the functions for now, keeping it simple with more weight/balance spinning. Maybe experimenting on using gear functions or a magnet system in the future could be fun but likely out of scope for my limited building time this go around.
