    There's the weapon classes. If that machete fits into one of the weapon classes a rogue can use, then yes. So for example if it was a Machete (WP: 3, Dagger). A rogue could use it.

    No, it's good, because now you can just make whatever enemies you want and don't have to worry that they'll be too strong, because they won't be, probably. Guts enters the maze, and places his hand along the left wall until he reaches the end.
