No, your post was directly attacking my opinion, i'm not amused.
-
I did specifically say it was my own opinion.
-
Well, as some of you may have figured out, I'm a fan of low/dark fantasy, so yeah. Of course, everyone can have their own creative freedom, and I was just giving my opinion for it ;). I'm not bothered by the way how many people seem to do it now. By the way: Tolkien laid the roots for today's Fantasy literature, but he is far from the best writer, and frankly the books are very dated at this point. (all in my humble opinion ). As for Arasmyth, if Guts ever meets him, he will probably refuse to think he is an elf, or assume Arasmyth used magic to grow himself a beard
-
Well, not that it matters, since we already have an elf with a beard . Seriously though, I remember this was brought up a long time ago, and I think we agreed that we go by the common fantasy thing: Elves grow normally for the first 20 years, but then age very slowly from that point on. I personally think stuff like 400 years is ridiculous, and an elf should live maybe 2 times as long as a human, but what can you do.

It was always stated it would only be available through specific channels, and was first only available for pre order from Curse, and now also from amazon.

I gave it to Dyric, will need to speak to him

"Let me tell you something, boy. I have been doing this for a whole lot longer than you have, unless you are hiding the wrinkles of an old man under that babyface. Now, if I haven't heard of you, that means you have not GOT a reputation, got it? Let me guess, rich family, got slaughtered by bandits, maybe the rest of the village too? Now you are after the ones that did this, out for revenge, sound familiar? Let me give you a hint: If the people, or whatever it was that turned you into the heap of arrogant, entitled brat are even running for you, the last thing you would want is a reputation. The quickest kill is the one that is not seen coming, or some bullcrap like that. Now move out."
-
Ooc: Oh well. "Stop complaining, Rone, it is made of steel, it is nothing but a glorified knife. Like your 'reputation' is nothing more but your glorified ego." Guts took the crossbow in his hand. It was quite heavy, made of darksteel. Darksteel. Guts could not tell if it was real Strivvian darksteel, or an imitation at first glance, and he was not about to waste time to try and find out. Real Darksteel was from Strivvi, his birthplace, forged by the mage-blacksmiths. It made Guts smirk, thinking of... home? Guts throws the heavy weapon to Dyric, making the younger rogue recatch his balance. "Take it, it seems powerful enough to shoot someone's leg off at the knee, bet you can have some fun with it."
-
Well, I did it mostly for the fact to know if he was a demon, which could be a possiblity, since the throwing knife is diamond infused, but if you can say right here that he is not, we leave it as is.
-
I think it would a cool idea to have more "Witch Amulets", that morph the ability into other types of venom we have seen.
-
I guess I could not use the nostrum? "Damn. Oh well, we are not hired to kill him, anyway. Something tells me he will be back next night, and we will be right here, waiting for him." Guts sighed, the old rogue was tired, it had been a little over 48 hours since he had last slept, and it was taking it's toll on him. With a steady hand, Guts sheathed his blade, 'Lifestealer' as was inscripted in the handle, and put away the throwing knife, which was glowing slightly, as a result of the fusion with the gem. This job was less straightforward than he had once thought, sure, the man was no vampire, so in theory they had completed the assignment, but their employer probably wants specifics. It's going to cost him extra. Guts smirked at the thought what Count Shadeaux could really be: a mage, a demon, worse? With a voice no less solid as usual, Guts said to the others: "Got this Crossbow here. Any of you thinking about using ranged weapons in the future? " Not waiting for an awnser, and swinging the crossbow over his shoulder for now, Guts headed to the Fountain.

I think having a "final encounter" in general is a good thing, depending on the Quest, both are of course very reasonable. *Cough* Quest 23 did not have one *Cough*
-
Unless the target is immune. I know that if an Assassin was to go on a Quest hosted by me, major npc's would indeed be immune to instant kills.
-
I actually think all Rogue's advanced classes are pretty good.
-
Well, considering Guts despises Magic, or more specifically it's users, because he believes they are the reason that undead and demons exist, something very major would need to happen before he would consider learning magic.
-
Raiders seem to be very popular, guess what Guts is going to be .
-
Guts quickly hands 50 gold to Dak, and keeps the other items for himself, for now. He then quickly takes a Mead and a Nostrum, and runs towards the other fight. If I can still fight in this round. Guts chucks his throwing knife at the count, from the back row.

Love the tights on the Avalonian . Lord Shale said about the incident: "While I am at this moment unable to confirm or deny any allegiance to either of the forces at war, I can say we foresee this war effort will strengthen the economy of Historica as a whole. Arms and armaments will be required, and the military sector will require to enlist additional personel. The backlash if the Drow wins? Well, we won't have access to the Avalonian grainfields, but I do have some negotiations going with a Mitgardian... No, I don't see a reason to intervene at this stage."
-
"Pray to your Gods for mercy, for I won't have it. " Guts, completely focussed on the battle, prepares himself to once again attack Castor and Deuces. Same battle order.

Great, I now imagine talking Count Shadeaux talking as Christian Bale's Batman. Thanks a lot. <Super low, gruffy voice> I'm Noctus, the leader Eubric deserves. Strange, I wanna help the Shadeaux now...

Well, we are of course talking about the Fantasy zombie, which of course finds it roots in magic, as for your question: There are probably awnsers to it, there are even really cool books out there describing how to survive in a zombie apocalypse and all the characteristics of zombies (or 'them', as the professional term is) but I don't know, really, what I would say is that the bacteria/virus feeds on the flesh/tissue of the dead person, and that the brain serves as some sort of hub for all the zombie's coordination. Blood does not circulate in the zombie anyway.
-
Well, a zombie is definitely not sentient, is slowly rotting away (makes disabling it quite easy) and can only be killed by taking out the brain, or removing the head from the body. It has no superhuman strength, other than the fact it does not get tired. It does not require sustenance (It kills/infects people and eats them for unclear purposes, they "live" just as long without as with food). Vampires are sentient alright, have superhuman strength, strong regenerative abilities, sometimes powerful mental abilites. They can be killed by silver bullet through the heart, a wooden stake through the heart, or by taking out the brain or removing the head from the body, or sunlight, of course. It needs sleep (at least, it can sleep) and it needs sustenance, in the form of (human) blood, they also sometimes enjoy "mortal" food, but it is unclear if it provides any sustenance. I say they are different enough
-
Hmm, How I have learned that vampires are made by infection (that kills) indeed, but that the person only becomes a vampire after they die. But because the person lives on as a vampire, the change is very subtle, and at first, the person appearance won't even have changed, and one can assume the Vampire's weaknesses would not be as prominent on the newborn vampire as well. So maybe it's just a courtesy thing: The Vampires are not considered living by normal people, but they actually are. We don't know, I think. Harder question than I at first thought

It is not Twilight. No sparkles.
