As well as what Aanchir said, if everything was made out of LEGO, it would look terrible on screen, there would be zero textures, and a lot would be needed from the lighting engine, which is not the best thing to have. And of course things aren't taken from a GTA game.

I like the first option you gave, it adds another use for gems, and gives another good reason not to distribute them to mages . The second option would be way overpowered, though. Merge a shield with an Amethyst and you would be invincible against 80% of the opponents in the game.

Of course all classes, are diverse and adaptable, perhaps I should have said it like this: It's very easy to go another direction as a rogue, because there many convential examples that are all really different. And I think you don't really play Haldor as a barbarian, but more as a Shaman, I think you have it spot on, which is really cool. And maybe you will find out more about the G.I.A. in the future, maybe not.

It's not a criminal empire... Rouges are restricted to Flitwick. Beside the fact that a rogue is by definition potentially badass, I think also a big draw is that they are so diverse, there are so many directions you can go, with roleplaying, but also playstyle wise. You can go from a scout-style character, to duelist, to more a fighter style character.

I've said it before and I will say it again: Rogue does not equal Thief/Criminal .
