"I've killed my part." Guts only said.
-
Guts shakes his head: "There is no such thing as reanimation without consequence. Remember that."
-
Guts raised an eyebrow, and put his hands on the table, he answered, choosing his words very carefully: "Look. What you are suggesting is not possible. There is a tale, rooted here in Eubric about the very thing you are talking about. One of the founders of Heroica, I don't know his true name, but he was called the Miracle Worker. He wanted to bring back people from the death, as they really were. He was the most gifted Healer in the whole world and probably one of the most gifted users of magic in general in his time. He couldn't do it. It drove him mad. People can't be brought back from the death. Their corpses can be animated, but nothing more. The only undead with a free mind I know of are vampires, and while I don't know much, stories tell me they are very different, and do not grow. Obviously you are different, but what you said... is impossible. When a person dies, their soul, their essence, is no longer on this world, and it's impossible to bring them back."
-
"I thought you said you died when you were six months old. I won't hold it against you, you're not the only one who lies about their origin sometimes. Like yourself, this wasn't who I always was." Guts sat back, the undead was an enigma. It, or he, was the first undead Guts had seen or even heard of that had a true own will, although it could be entirely possible some mage was controlling him one way or the other. Also, it could be healed by conventional methods. That told Guts that this one was not in fact a servant of the cold lady Helvetia, or Zoot the dark one. It seemed the Gods did not see this one as their enemy, and that deserved some attention, at least.

Honestly, if you have a mage that has a damaging special, just make it an element. A lot of the time it is not specified, when it actually can be.
-
No, you are immune to damage that is specified as darkness. Like for example, a fire breath special will probably say: Does X amount of Fire Damage, etc.

Guts was walking over to the bar to get a new bottle of wine. When he saw the undead sketching, he decided to watch, when Sorrow was finished, the Raider said: "Not too bad. Someone you know? Or what you would like to be like?"
-
"Amusement? I was thinking practice, holy man. But fair enough, good luck." The Raider went back up to his table, the other heroes present in the hall didn't really look like they would have a decent chance against him anyways. Perhaps he would swing my Byblos later...
-
Guts walked around the Hall for a bit, there were no quests to sign up for. The demonspawn, Dek'ra was in the hall, and there were several new heroes, but Guts didn't care about any of them. Finally the Raider walked up to Maurice. and asked: "You up for a fight in the Arena, holy man?"

Guts swings by Portia's Potion Shack, buys 10 Meads, 10 Nostrums and 10 Smelling Salts for a total of 750 Gold. He also buys 3 Grand Potions, 5 remedies, 5 Smoke Bombs, 2 Neutralizers and 2 bottles of Deadly Venom for a total of 305 Gold. This leaves him with (2383 - 1055 = 1328 Gold).
-
Guts is the first of the party to make it back. Moments after opening the doors to the hall, the Raider is back at his usual table, the half full bottle of red wine still in hand. It was good to be back.

Again, thank you very much, Rumble, for hosting. I had a lot of fun, I really liked going on one of your quests again, as 13 was fantastic of course. The story continued, and it really ended now, which is kind of sad. It could continue with the Seamonster, and the Maginstrabanana and his order, and Hlin of course, but the story of Sorona, Haroka and the Darkstar is defenitely over (Or is it? Dun dun dun). The party was great, especially from a roleplaying perspective, Sorrow, Maurice and Nagure are all characters Guts hadn´t met, and I am glad he has now. Even though Guts was too powerful and made the battles hard to balance. The pictures were also great, I really like how you adapted to things we did on the fly, that was really cool. The Inquisitors were very well made as well, I thought. There were a lot of battles, and the puzzle was very cool also. I do have two points though. I think we missed stuff? We never went to the bridge. Was there a way to meet the other two inquisitors before the final battle? This might be a personal thing, but I felt the Darkstar thing wasn´t handled very well. There´s one thing you got to learn about your players, they are all paranoid, some more than others, but still. What that means is that if you want your players to do certain things, make that really clear, and let there be no room for error. Like, You got an apple, you can either give it to the red man, or the blue man. If you put the same person in a room, with an apple, and two men, they will probably eat the apple, or try to kill the men with the apple, know what I mean? Also, wouldn´t it be a great roleplay/story continuity if we did get that other reward as well?

Heroica RPG - Quest#52: Tower of Doom

The raider shrugged. "Or we could go with Mizuki´s idea and sell it?" -
Alright, if it doesn´t matter what we do with it anyway, you could finish up the quest If you want. Thank you very much for hosting, Rumble, It was a great quest. I will have some more detailled opinion on the Quest in the Questmaster´s Lounge.

"Well. That was awkward. Who´s for bringing this to the Ziegfrieds. They had a bounty equivalent of 1200 gold, a level of experience and improved reputation, if I remember correctly, for anyone who would bring this back." -
But the Ziegfrieds don´t know that. Come on, let us have this one!

"Magistrata, take a look at the Darkstar, make sure it´s safe to carry around, but don´t try anything, I´ll be standing right here with my blade out." -
I was going for lootwhore but that sounds a lot better!
-
I just realized something. If Guts were to hand the Darkstar over for inspection to the Magisteriatananata, he would say that it´s powers were gone, right? If that was the case, Guts wouldn´t have any problems handing it over to the Ziegfrieds, which in turn, would presumably grant us the promised reward of Quest 13, because let´s be honest, better late than never?
-
Why would you hand a very powerful artifact over to a kidnapper, that´s just common sense.
-
Maybe because Guts isn´t a magic user, it would be worthless for as long as he held it? Now what does Haroka´s head do? I am thinking... Joke, joke.

Heroica RPG - Quest#52: Tower of Doom

"Hm. I guess that IS the best option. As soon as we get back, I will run this thing by Byblos, and then present it to the veterans, if he doesn´t come up with a better solution. Feel free to accompany me." Guts knew he could control it. Demons and the Dark had tempted him before, but he had always resisted them, hadn´t he? Or was Nerwen right, and was their decision to leave Haroka alive back in Ve´er really an idea given to them by the wretched gem? But it seemed his party members did not think he could do it. The Raider decided to humour them, for now. He did not need the power of some trinket. Guts knew he was going to change the world. But not through the use of a dark artifact. -
Honestly, if you don´t want a Hero to use something, don´t give them the choice of what to do with it. Not knocking on your QM´ing, but it is my duty to get the most powerful items that I can, as a player.

"I have faith in the Gods, but less in the mortals that serve them. The Paladin Order is not an option." -
Why not? I just want to Jedi Mind Trick people!
