  1. The Pegasus-printed Hylian shield from Friends set 42674 is up on Pick-a-Brick here in Canada.
  2. A lovely rendition into the early Classic Space colour scheme. Looks great, and the subtle addition of black and yellow is an excellent touch.
  3. Got 75385 Duel on Peridea last week, for 40% off. I was originally going to skip this set and maybe get Thrawn on the secondary market, since I’ve been doing more Castle builds than Star Wars in the last few years. In the end I decided that the discount combined with the extra minifigures and the parts made it worth picking up. I did build the set but left off the stickers, and almost immediately disassembled it for the pieces.
  4. Lovely design and colour. There are so many different shapes coming together!
  5. No offense taken, and no disrespect to you or yours either! 7668 was a fairly popular set, if I recall. It’s one of the few I got two of as a kid, despite my very limited resources (as well as 7667). Yeah, six years is still new, getting close though. I wonder if it’s too early to call the original ones ‘classic’ yet… I noticed the same thing. In fact, I prefer to army build newer Imperial officers and hunt around for older stormtroopers at used stores.
  6. Lovely build! For the size this is a fairly imposing robot. You’ve captured the Blacktron I look!
  7. A bit late, but I had that dream as a kid… got as far as Captain Panaka, two guards and a half-dozen of pilots. Also a small Gungan army of five minifigures to support them. I would have gladly taken Boss Nass at that age (and Queen Amidala, who I missed back in 2012). I will admit to being the exception here though! This is true, but also; I can’t think of anything but a few novels (now in Legends) that gave any focus to stormtrooper characters. Probably a few comics as well. But nothing to the scale of The Clone Wars (2008). There’s nothing to base a set off in the first place, no focus story or memorable plot. The Imperial minifigures everyone looks forward to are officers, in my experience.
  8. Amazing! The shield makes a great display piece, and it has a very interesting shape that I’ve not seen elsewhere.
  9. @Grover Thank you! I had to leave the story a bit open, since I didn’t have time to construct something more elaborate, and also needed to not trap myself for later. Rest assured that at least some of these characters, and the town, should appear again! After rereading the Mitgardian thread and finding that @soccerkid6 designed the shield, I knew I had to use it. I had already intended to get the Viking Village, but that moved up the timeline a little! As to the photos, I’m taking many notes! Eye level shots and better lighting are close to the top of my list. I’ve begun browsing the tutorials on the forums as well, for more tips.
  10. I like the variety of builds. Nice integration of large parts, and on the opposite end, those ‘tumbleweed’ huts with the branches are amazing! The dual names of ‘Notomys’ and ‘Evergreen Falls’ add an interesting flavour to the village.
  11. Very nicely done! It matches the original quite well, and I think the missing back wall helps to tie them more closely together.
  12. This is a lovely colour! It’s uncommon in my experience to see a castle which is not some shade of grey, or black (those that are not tend to be based off the 375 yellow castle). Magnificently executed, especially the contrast of the dark blue battlements with the rest of the wall. There seems to be some bending on the top corner of the castle. Probably not intentional, but it added some character to the build, in my view.
  13. As said by others, amazing skeleton dragon! This is a great combination of the various minifigures as well. I love all the dragonborn fighters!
  14. Congratulations to @T-86(swebrickLUG) and @Gideon! I certainly enjoyed myself, and it seems everyone else did too!
  15. @jtooker @Ben S @T-86(swebrickLUG) Thank you all! I figured that dark red would give the wood a fancier feel. The carpet colours are, of course, Mitgardian. @Kai NRG If you are looking for the carpet edge tiles, be prepared to use them lots to justify the expense! I will definitely feature them again in the future for this exact reason. I will also use your photography suggestion as well. I am working on a new build that I might experiment on for that purpose.
