  1. Brother... We were forged in victory. A victory that ended the great purge and brought fourth the reign of the Eurobricks fleet. Born from the depths of the internet connection, rooted in the river of people's imagination, our fleet emerged out of the galactic crisis. As it grew, so too did the might of it's users. We created a world of peace, a world of freedom and justice, a world that lives in the shadow and security of our fleet. A fleet that has come to be the absolute measure of strength and power. Brother, put aside the petty grievances that have splinted us for so long. We will unite. We will stand together. And we will wipe out this TIE Avenger curse. EUROBRICKS. WILL. PREVAIL.
  2. This is certainly one demanding human being, rightfully so. I have been thinking about this as well. While this definitely appears to be our best bet right now, does the piece count match a potential TIE Avenger play scale set? Build-wise, I considered the best point of comparison would be 2019's Major Vonreg's TIE Fighter. Yet I was shocked to see the piece count as low as 496... Though given the fact that more modern sets contain more smaller parts, this inflated count is easily explained. And when you look at more recent releases such as the TIE Bomber (625 pieces plus side build) and the Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor (957 pieces, I'd imagine 650+ parts reserved for the latter), you get dangerously close to them 775 pieces. So yeah, fingers crossed for sure.
  3. Yeah, that's fair enough. Didn't know the building techniques were all that different compared to play scale sets, superior even, though I suppose it makes perfect sense for a pure display model. They won't have to deal with designing actual interiors, too Which compliments your point of lesser stability standards being needed. Due to similarities in scale, the Slave 1 might not be the first ship I would consider in terms of new additions to the Starship Collection. But it would be a valid choice nonetheless. 30 days until I will be joined by the most detailed Cad Bane minifigure yet... allegedly.
  4. The current Slave 1 might as well already be considered midi-scale. Apart from no minifigure included, I don't know how an official model would actually differ from that. Oh, my complaints was strictly or primarily based on the source material. It just annoyed me that something like Andor, which I like to consider the best thing ever happened since the Disney Star Wars takeover, is getting next to no coverage. While stuff like Mandalorian season 3 and Ahsoka, which I would perceive mediocre at best, both got above average coverage. However, that doesn't mean I have any hate left in my heart for these sets at all. Like I said, there have been some great sets coming out of those shows. Some of them I own myself. I planned to pick up more but it wasn't meant to be. And I truly do understand the reasoning behind all these decisions. But so too do I realize that even slightly more Andor sets couldn't have hurt anybody. It may very well be less toyetic than almost everything else, but there is still plenty of ships that would make a damn fine toy or display model, I'd say. So yeah, still somewhat annoying to me, though. No, it's just Lego's pockets which got even bigger throughout the years.
  5. Get ready for the $60 Midi-scale Starfighters! Due to release in 2028 onwards! I'm usually not one of the "everything was better back then" kinda days, but I swear to the maker, when it comes to big old companies' pricing policies, we live in the stupidest timeline. Yeah, this is certainly true. I wish it would happen on a more regular basis. Well, it's that time of the year again when I gather every one of my Star Wars plastic puppets, strip them off all their handheld accessories and put them down in the "bacta tank" for some extensive cleaning/healing purposes. It's a whole process.
  6. Look at you guys with all your perfectly sound arguments and all. The thing is... I know. Coming off the only proper Andor season 2 play set, I was just a little bit... melancholic. So I won't be even pretending to be the reasonable person in this very conversation. I know, I don't. The argument about Lego system scale sets being still a toy for kids obviously still rings true. And we won't have to argue that the show definitely isn't suitable to watch for children like most other Disney Star Wars shows are. What the hell, I know adult folks who just don't see the appeal of Andor either and find it too boring to watch. Yet I still stand by my point that more could have been done... more still can be done. Especially with Lego's love to speak to the adult market. Though to be perfectly honest with you, if the TIE Avengers had released as a Midi-scale with zero minifigs, I probably had complained about this, too. What I want, is not what I'm gonna receive and I need to accept that. Just a mere day later, this feels already easier to do. Ha, how could I not mention overpriced Super Battle Pack slop in the same sentence as outrageously overpriced Jedi Starfighters. When I finally get the former, which despite some very decent price drops I'm still in no rush to do so, I will put both sets next to each other and say "that will be $90 good sir." NINETY. US. DOLLARS. Yep, to me it's just super noticable that you wouldn't have gotten that amount of minifigs if this wasn't split from two separate sets. So that's definitely something that can work in the modularity's favour. Can you send me something of your hopium bottle? I'd like to have some of it, too. Although good for your wallet in the present, you'd like to see better LSW days again as well, don't you?
  7. Oh, no, no, no... I'm not calling these sets slop. I'm calling these shows, despite them delivering some very solid sets, slop. Uninspired, unimaginative, mass produced filthy slop. And yes, I'm not blaming those sub-themes per se for the lack of Andor. I'm blaming Lego for not taking a little bit more creative risk to see it done. And I partially blame the general audience for eating up some slop like Ahsoka with covered eyes, while abondoning Andor altogether. What can I say, man. I'm hot off the heels of the U-Wing and some of my initial frustration starts showing up again, making me more emotional than rational right about now. I know Andor is not as merchandise compatible as the other mentioned TV shows are. And that removing two other sub-themes would probably have it replaced by something else. However, that doesn't mean that the best you can do is a single set per season. Like I said, if quality was automatically matching quantity (fully aware it doesn't always work out like this), then Andor could have been an absolute frontrunner and giving us sets left and right. Just sad that Andor ended up as niche as it was, that's basically all I'm saying. Yeah, I'm still quite fond of these mid-sized sets. Could use some more of those super solid $40 sets. And I mean proper sets for 40 bucks... not outrageously overpriced Jedi Starfighters. Mando 3 TV show slop or not, I really enjoyed that 1-2 punch and would like to see this modular approach being utilized more often for Lego Star Wars. If you think about it, the benefit of getting this in a double pack rather than a single set, can not be understated. You get eight full figs and around 400 pieces for 60 bucks. That's not too shabby. Because it definitely would be worse on the figure front if this was one bigger set. But this way, due to the Battle Pack, the count kinda gets inflated.
  8. Oh man, I know quality and quantity can unfortunately be sometimes at odds with each other, but if it weren't and one is to apply that to the Andor show, we would have been blessed with so many Andor sets down the line. If necessary, cut down all that Mando season 3 and Ahsoka slop. And you might as well further adjust the already slim offerings for the Kenobi show and The Book of Boba Fett. By the maker, what could have been! My 2025 Lego Star Wars set list appears to be much bigger than some of you guys in here. Let's say it was more than @CloneCommando99 and less than @BrickBob Studpants. In chronological order, they were as follow: ARC-170 Starfighter, Ahsoka's Jedi Interceptor (both birthday gifts), Imperial Star Destroyer plus Kamino Training Facility, Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter Microfighter, Death Trooper & Night Trooper Battle Pack, Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator, Jango Fett's Slave 1, Rebel U-Wing Starfighter. Including the GWP, that makes nine full sets. To me, based on the last couple of years, pretty much an average amount of sets.
  9. Depending on the set, I sometimes would play something in the background, like a few TCW episodes, to compliment the overall building experience, but it usually distracts me too much. So I like to let Lego be one of those savory screen-less hobbies you can have as well. That's also a nice way of saying that I freaking suck at the multitasking thing. So nah, just putting some fitting music on next to the set is the sweet spot for me. And yeah... I'm always on the high end when when it comes to building time. If it's a small up to medium sized set, then it's... okay, I'd say. Then I can manage 300 pieces per hour, deliberately taking my time. But anything drastically above that tanks down that average rather quickly. I just have trouble concentrating in a single sitting way beyond the two hour mark. So I have to take some breaks in between building 1000+ pieces sets. Which "luckily" are getting more rare by Lego nowadays anyways. The pleasure is truly on my side as well, man. Really like reading your takes independent of my own. Though they seem to tend to match together often quite nicely. My Christmas wish is more Jedi minifigures for the foreseeable future. Getting an awesome new Plo Koon was great. So was getting the best Obi-Wan figure they ever made. But don't let that be a fluke. Please keep on doing them. Bring back long overdue main characters like Count freaking Dooku. And please deliver a TCW General Anakin Skywalker minifig on the same level as the aforementioned Kenobi figure. Sincerely, thank you.
  10. You are obviously joking, but this is actually what should happen, if an actual TIE Avengers ever materializes. Also, holy smokes, you weren't kidding with your "through the roof swooshability" claim in regards to the U-Wing. It's so silky smooth to swoosh that thing around, like I absolutely adore it. Listening to some of the incredible Andor score went really hard when building this set. Speaking of which, it took me almost two hours to build this sucker. For my personal low standards, this is actually on the quicker side. In reality, this is bordering on embarrassment. I mean, little kids are supposed to build these play sets with ease in absolutely no time. Sometimes, my mental health is really worrying me.
  11. Haha, merry Christmas to you man. Merry Christmas to each and everyone at Eurobricks. Merry the Force be with you. Always.
  12. I don't know how they work out their business relationship. They most definitely could. So as far as I'm concerned, they're already saving costs aplenty for every "Updated Edition". I remember reading an interview at the back of one of the character encyclopedias. And there it sounded like the Lego design team was heavily involved when it came to choosing and creating the figure. And I'd wonder if that wouldn't be the case. Just look up that video. It's called "Star Wars Episode 1 Amidi-Amidala". I find it hilarious to this day.
  13. Yeah, that's a pretty logical conclusion to draw from this Advent Calendar. It makes sense they used much of their available budget on that new mould at the expense of a couple of figs. Whereas the Lego books have obviously much less room for compensating higher figure production costs. I don't know if making that thing thinner, use less printing would do any good in that regard. I wanna say that these things are typically full of mistakes and reusing lots of prior prints anyways, so what gives. You definitely have a fair point there going on. Sure, why not? I see no way why she wouldn't have worked out. Just wanted to say that these books already brought forth many unique versions of popular characters. The white prototype Boba Fett is one of the prime examples. They've proved on numerous occasions that it can be much better than some of what we are getting nowadays. It actually didn't use to suck. This is why some lackluster decisions tend to bother me this much. It's like I'm held to a higher standard. Yes, something went wrong there. There might have been a communication problem. You gotta read the following using your best Da Ba Dee Da Ba Di impression Now listen up. Here's the story. About a little queen that lives in Naboo. All day and all night it's all going wrong. Like her failure for negotiation. No communication with the trade federation in this dangerous situation for lack of negotiation. To make their invasion of theirs take place they cut off communication from the station in SPACE. And I'm the queen Amidi-Amidala. Amidi-Amidala. Amidi-Amidala. Amidi-Amidala. Amidi-Amidala. Amidi-Amidala.
  14. All good, man. And I was under the same impression. Almost like they conceptualized this figure first, then took a drastically different approach for the actual anniversary line-up and this was just one of the leftovers. Just wanted to say, a TPM figure on the level of TROS Palpatine would have made me pretty happy. Come to think of it, since you never got him from Episode 1, how about a proper TPM Senate Palpatine? The options for much better alternatives are seemingly endless. The more I think about it, the worse it really gets. Time to get more positive thoughts on again.
  15. Thanks, super stoked to finally get off building again. And yes, pretty sure I heard something along those lines. Might be a good time to rewatch some of the second season. I was specifically talking about last year's Visual Dictionary that included the 25th anniversary Darth Maul figure. Literally any other character I just listed, even if you exclude Boss Nass due to budget reasons, would have been better than that! I'm also no sequel person. Never was, never will be. But I could instantly recognize the appeal of finally getting a special and still missing version of Palpatine. In principle, this is as much about filling the gapes than what I am looking into for TPM, just for a whole different era. So I can wholeheartedly respect anyone's wish fulfilled. Yet I saw no one losing their minds over another Maul figure. I just can't stand boring uncreative choices like that. It screams missed opportunity and little else.
  16. Of course he can... Just because it never happened with minifigures that require new moulds, doesn't mean it can't happen at all. You notice the same when you look at the Advent Calenders. The Star Wars ones never came with new pieces for the minifigs. This year, they included an entire new piece for Babu Frik like nothing happened. So yeah, nothing is really set in stone. But let's say no Boss Nass, how about Shmi, Theed Padme or an updated Jar Jar or Watto instead? Anything is better than what we've got. I would still consider AotC to be the most neglected sub-theme out of the core Skywalker Saga. Though I suppose TPM doesn't track much behind. Nowadays, both get neglect pretty hard. At the top off my head, he isn't. Which drastically lowers the chances of him ever getting an official minifigure. I am bound to keep his profile picture forever.
  17. Yes, every time I've got this no brainer scenarios right before my eyes, I kinda don't think it will happen at all, but Lego going down down the generic route, which is usually what happens. Boss Nass, or some other new never before seen character for the Visual Dictionary? Ha, no chance! How about the 37th Darth Maul figure instead? And let's slap a non-compatible 25th anniversary logo on his back to make him technically exclusive. It's always so obvious what will or won't happen. And yes... bringing back the Gungan mould only for Darth Jar Jar was just the cherry on top. ROTS was also robbed hard this year, yeah. How can you be on the Billund council and not do a set about the Jedi one? Seize the opportunity to deliver an awesome Palpatine's Arrest remake? No, how about nothing in that regard? The whole thing was nothing but a big excuse for Lego to put even more Clones to the forefront. I'm afraid AOTC will share the same fate in 2027. Or being overshadowed by the 50th Star Wars anniversary altogether. I've been saying this every now and then and I will say it again: If certain sub-themes like Episode I and II would get even a bit more regular releases in between anniversaries, you wouldn't need to be so dependent and laser focused on these single years. But when this is our only shot at some new/long overdue minifigs or remake of older sets, seeing the actual result can be rather depressing. Honestly, it's such a waste. If that's all we get: YOU. BETTER. MAKE. IT. COUNT. THEN. It can't be that hard, can it? U-Wing arrived in the meantime and I'm very looking forward to assemble that thing. Haven't done so since the Slave 1 three months ago. The box art is truly peak, by the way.
  18. Given the increase of Clones in certain key areas as of late, more than fine, I'd imagine. Gotta be nice for people who are after that sorta thing. I almost never change anything up about my minifigures. Actually only when I have to slightly modify Gonk feet's or make a tiny stand for buildable droids for them to be able to stay on a baseplate. Yes... just yes. Believe me, it annoys the hell out of me when a brand new TPM set releases nowadays, which is a rarity in and of itself, and then you only get like surface stuff level of minifigs. A new Watto, wouldn't have been the first time showing up for the Infiltrator, was a solid choice next to Panaka. Shmi, by all means, would have been a perfect anniversary figure. So too would have been Boss Nass for the Dictionary! Don't get me wrong, the Saw Gererra fig was an awesome addition, personally the best of the bunch, but I can't shake the feeling that in terms of TPM, several big opportunities were missed last year.
  19. Yeah, I have the same feeling all the time with other people already having expressed the same thoughts as I was about to write. I usually end up posting my views anyways, but I'd by lying by saying that it doesn't affect my personal motivation or something. It's definitely much more fun to join new conversations among the early birds, seeing everyone's fresh, unfiltered reactions and excitement. And no, I don't have beef with anyone in here, either. Just a couple of people I can't really identify with but nothing personal. As for the usual subjects, at least from my standpoint, I'm having a pretty good time. Most of the upcoming sets from the May/June wave should be based on Mando & Grogu. So I recon it's gonna be a while until we get more concrete info. Even though I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't take Lego forever to officially reveal the January wave. So maybe we can get things out a little quicker than usual. If not, some leaks will have us covered... eventually. =)
  20. It's time for "The People vs. George Holiday Special. And I know exactly what video you are talking about... just hilarious! We will see, I guess. But I feel like we are doing this for a whole while now. Always speculating in a "if they are done with thing X, they might start toning this sub-theme down", but it never really happened. Next year might be different due to the new Mando movie release. Let's see how the summer wave plays out. Regarding the Turbo Tank, it's currently available for 105€, so 30% down from it's full price of 150€. Which would typically be enough for me to get any Lego Star Wars set that I still consider worth owning. But in this case, I still wait for like 40/50%. And even then there couldn't be anything for me to get instead. Yes, it's way up there for me as well. Actually, come to think of it, it might be my number one, too. I remember some of the initial leaks were confirming Captain Achilles for this set, which later on was debunked, only to reconfirm his inclusion. This made me very happy. I was hoping the same for Captain Panaka/Padme minifigure, first confirmed then denied, in the 2024 Sith Infiltrator, but this time it didn't pan out.
  21. Easy skip, then. As far as May the 4th promos go, dedicated minifigure guy over here. But since I won't have a fitting Lego Shop exclusive to reach the ridiculously high threshold for next year anyways, it will be of no consequence to me. So yeah, let them all have their glory Mando time. Roses are red Violets are blue I want that Avenger treaty signed But not nearly as much as you. It's alright. Don't mention it. I'll see myself out. Sounds great. I think even all four minifigs are exclusive, because the K-2SO has slightly different torso printing. You definitely had me at the super swooshability. But yeah, we already ordered it. Very confident I will enjoy this one next week. But have you checked what experienced man is masquerading as good old Santa? I mean, it could be George Lucas for all we know! Yeah, as long as there is enough demand, why would they wanna stop the delivery? The profit margins gotta be cranked up to eleven. Maybe that's what their motto "only the best is good enough" is really referring to. Ha, did anybody actually believed the 187th rumours/leaks back then? I know, I sure as hell didn't. But that was one Ace Mace figure. Also, I swear to the maker, if they don't finally come to their senses and put a freaking Crab Droid in a possible Battle Pack, even I'll be at a loss for words. Seriously... don't you dare putting yet another Dwarf Spider Droid in there, Lego! Maybe this blessed generation made a bet how many attempts it took for their head to get crushed like a grape when continuously hitting the wall. And they just couldn't settle the battle on six or seven. Thus, they are stuck in a time loop of seemingly endless stupidity. Oh, my bad, I wasn't properly reading the last part of your posting. So I was under the impression you haven't gotten this set yet. The recommendation was addressed directly to you. But best of luck to your expansion plans, man.
  22. I was finally able to get the U-Wing, courtesy of a pretty fair 30% discount.
  23. That's good. After the upcoming Clone Pilot, I wasn't planning to pick up yet another one of these Magazines. As these things have gotten extremely expensive as of late. So I wanna make every minifigure count. We just might during "my early days" on Eurobricks. In the last couple of months, I just took notice of some situations where I would go on and quote some of your postings and you wouldn't reply to me even once. Despite being fully aware that not nearly every topic is worth further discussion, i was sometimes under the impression you had a personal vendetta or something stupid like that. Yep, the minifigures, like Lego every so often intends to, are a clear standout for the set. Even though I really enjoy the look of the build, too. Lame landing position notwithstanding, the ship looks to be so damn swooshable.
  24. I know, right... A totally terrific transition, if I say so myself. Haha, you do know that Santa doesn’t exist, right? Just kidding, I know how passionate some of you americans tend to take Christmas season. Well yeah, it's just straight up gonna be another erigiously overpriced Super Battle Pack. The fact that we still haven't received some new Kaschyyyk Troopers with now utterly necessary helmet holes makes me a little nervous. So yep... book it. Wolfpack would be a good second guess and at least something we haven't gotten in ages. Oh shoot, I first thought to be just too sick and tired right now to comprehend this supposedly cursed number combination. But to be perfectly honest with you, I literally didn't have a clue about any of it. I was reading out loud both postings and my significant other had to explain it to me. Seems like I haven't missed all that much. Can't recommend the Boarding the Tantive IV set enough. Above average minifigure selection, quite good design, very sturdy build, some pretty neat functionality. Just a well realized overall package that leaves almost nothing to be desired. Other than Lego being Lego, it's kinda unbelievable it took them 25 years to create such a play set based on what is widely considered to be one of the most iconic scenes in the history of Star Wars. Though given it was a near perfect product to position your latest LSW anniversary, I'm glad that they finally did!
  25. Hey there, here I thought we would never interact with each other. If we ever did, I don't remember. Oh okay, I see. As far as this Christmas goes, I was actually kinda torn between the aforementioned U-Wing and the V-19 Torrent. The latter, especially on sale for 40 bucks, is the more attractive deal to me. But given that my birthday ain't that far away anyways, I'm probably sticking to that. As for the Yellow Clone Trooper TM Battle Pack, it's currently available at a pretty reasonable 25€ on Amazon DE. But given I'd rather want to enjoy my time during the festive days, I kindly decline and save it for later.
