Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Virginia_Bricks replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would assume we get a Chamber of Secrets because the Grand Staircase, Viaduct Entrance and DADA Tower will all have dungeons that need scenes (and it seems Lego isn't going to do empty ones, whereas the Potions classroom can be exchanged with the preset ones). The Slytherin Common room should be guaranteed but that is still probably up to 4 more dungeon scenes. -

I'm pretty sure the place the flying lesson takes place is in the part of the castle not in the outline we have, which makes me feel like it will be similar to the Owlery. -

I would guess this set would be between the size of the Ministry set, Whomping Willow, Hogsmeade and the playset Hogwarts express, which puts us between 6-9 minifigures. Bellatrix, Narcissa, the trio, and Griphook (only because they have a recent mold from Gringotts) all seem a given. Therefore, between Dobby, Luna, Draco, Grindlewald, Lucius and Greyback you would get 2-3. -

Sounds good! I wonder how they will do Malfoy Manor to not make it to dark (thematically not color wise) because the only movie scenes from there are both too dark for Lego (or any kids toy company). -

Have they been reliable in the past? I see in that news channel the rumor about the Jango Fett helmet for Star Wars next year and I'm just not confident that seems legitimate, so wondering if this is another individual creating fake leaks to drive traffic to their page. -

It doesn't rule it out because we got a Diagon Alley GWP two years before we got the D2C, but I would rule it out for 2025. But I am also not sure how popular of a D2C it would be compared to something like Hogsmeade which would be a similar type build. -

Most likely Deathly Hallows and the scene with the statues or after the battle with the Golden Trio. -

My thoughts on the viaduct are more that this year's modular sets were: One large portion (Great Hall), one small main connected portion (Boat House), one interchangeable small portion (Potions), and one unconnected portion (Owlrey). And this lineup created well four sets that can go together but could also stand on their own. I expect the large set to come in the summer since Lego typically releases expensive sets late spring, summer. And the interchangeable portion I think could be one of the upper classrooms this year. Quidditch Pitch, Greenhouses, Whomping Willow, etc... seem like good sets for the unconnected portion. What they do for a small connected portion is harder to imagine, but the viaduct seems viable -

Then replace it with a polybag. While Brickheadz are a separate theme, they are usually promoted with their subtheme -

Brickheadz Pack - Weasley Related (My guess Ginny, Molly, Fred and George) Viaduct set (part of modular system, similar to Boathouse) Greenhouse set (part of modular system, similar to Owlrey) A new privet drive playset 18+ Set - Thestral (Seems unlikely, but they have recently done creates from 1-4, so this would fit Order of Phoenix) Forbidden Forest expansion remake of Sirius and Harry on the lake A Fawkes set similar to Hedwig this year Those are my guesses/hopes -

My only complaint is they skimped out a little on the dungeon rooms. I wish they made it $210 instead of $200 and add those ~100 parts to flesh those rooms out better. But other than that, I think it is a great model. It seems they are following the design of 71043 just at playscale, but that also means this will be far the most expensive modular Hogwarts and likely to run around $1000 when all sets are complete. -

Also, not like minifigures are exactly perfect representations. So just modify the design slightly so it fits as a kids toy. I mean the legs for Harry and Victor are full length when they should have been dual-molded to be perfectly accurate. -

Personally I think the main viaduct should be a separate set. It will be a large enough # of bricks that the price point could be a $35-45 USD set. I just don't know if there is an iconic of enough scene that can be done on it. The small back viaduct will be included in either of the towers it connects to, but I would be surprised if it was in both of them. EDIT: Was thinking more and I think the only scene from the movies from the Viaduct would be McGonagall before the Battle of Hogwarts deploying the statues. Doesn't feel like that scene would be good enough for a set. -

Affordable sets in the modular castle system. Besides the Owlery, those other sets are not in the castle system. The castle system prices are 38, 40, 45, and 200 USD. -

I agree, there is plenty of underground scenes left to include. Just noting that they take up budget in the sets making it harder to do affordable small sets above ground. Unless they separate them but it seems Lego is avoiding making sets in this system that can't stand alone, but I am sure the designers will get creative and find a solution. -

The issue with expanding beyond the picture is the dungeons. Lego might have shot themselves in the foot with including dungeons actually below ground because now every other set needs them as well so that the entire system is on the same level. Clearly exterior is a priority in this system so I don't expect that approach to change. What that means is a decent amount of the budget for sets going forward will be spent on things like the bathroom and Hufflepuff common room and not expanding the castle outward. What I am more interested in is the Hogwarts related sets that aren't part of the system. This could be a way to get our first Greenhouse set or eventually a new Quidditch pitch set which could be easily combined with the system. -

We only got four sets specific to the new modular castle this year. Those you mention could be integrated with it, but are not designed with that purpose. Just like The Black Lake set last year was not part of the old modular castle. I expect we will get 4 sets each year for 3 years total. 12 total specific sets for the modular castle. -

Does Lego ever run deals during the Hogwarts GWP week or is it just the GWP? Wondering both about 2x VIP points and specific set sales. -

Hoping that it is a modular classroom similar to the Potions Classroom set but just a little simpler and less figures so that is falls within the GWP requirements. -

Oh, I believe you are correct just wish it was different. Since this won't be the complete castle (that would take 6+ years of sets), when I MOC the remaining sections maybe I will just include an empty dungeon for this to slide into. -

The Star Wars summer wave is delayed 2 months this year so I would assume it is the same thing for Harry Potter. And it is only delayed for NA. Overall disappointed in the potions classroom set because there is no added exterior. It is great for play and customizability but it feels like a wasted set in the modular castle lineup if you want a detailed interior AND exterior of the castle. Going to wait till next year to think about purchasing it and see if one on next year's wave has a an incomplete dungeon you can slide this into. -

Honestly battle packs like Star Wars make very little sense for Harry Potter because no one is building an army of Harrys, Lunas, etc..... Battle packs work well for figures you want 10+ of that are the same (or for some 100+), which I just don't think there are for a theme like Harry Potter besides maybe dementors. Also Star Wars has 2x the number of sets a year because of its popularity so there are more things they can experiment with there. -

I think you are right with that is comes with its own castle section that it can slide out of. Based on price and leaked piece count it seems to be around the size of the boathouse with more smaller pieces, so I am guessing it will be a rock cliff exterior that something in the 2025 wave will sit on. And the slide out portion is a play feature more than a modularity feature.
