  1. A UCS Jango's Slave 1 and playset Jango's Slave 1 in the same year is basically a 0% chance.
  2. Maybe... But they could do a $120 set of the tower next to the Grand Staircase and a $160/80 set for the Viaduct entrance and one swappable interior module and call it complete. While most of here would love an updated Clock Tower set or Astronomy Tower set, they could easily be excluded from the silhouette. What are people's opinions of exclusive minifigures in books? Picked up the Cedric Diggory second task figure with the book, but really don't care for the book.
  3. I display my favorite scenes from each movie, so having duplicates is wonderful so every room can be full of activity. Like right now Lockhart is in my Great Hall and Quirrell is in the dungeons. Canonical? Absolutely not, but I prefer mini-figure scale sets so I can effectively play with it like a dollhouse.
  4. Finally saw a comparison of the 2024 Great Hall to the Great Hall portion of the D2C Hogwarts. Roughly the same length, but 2 studs wider and ~6 studs taller. If these expanded dimensions hold for the Main Tower, we should be able to expect 14-16 studs wide and 70-76 studs tall. Given the interior modules height of 12 studs, I am predicting two swappable modules (12 studs high each), 30 studs high for the staircase, and whatever remains for Dumbledore's Office. If you use approximate brick volume the Great Hall is 9,088 bricks, so the Main Tower should be roughly 11,360 given a roughly 25% higher price and piece count. That makes the dimensions of 13 (depth) x 14 (width) x 70 (height) somewhat reasonable as 12,740 bricks of volume. That gives me hope the tower next to the Main Tower will be excluded and a standalone set. Otherwise they would need to seriously limit the size of the Main Tower itself.
  5. It would have required a new mold and they already did that for Neel so a second new mold was probably not in the budget.
  6. 4 vs 3 minifigures and especially 1 professor minifigure vs 2 professor minifgures. Common interpretation is a minifigure reflects $5 in value for Lego pricing
  7. Because is its gritty and dark. It doesn't lend itself well to toys.
  8. I didn't pace myself well and all three new Castle sets were built in 3 days. But here are my short thoughts: Dueling Club: Compact build and good minifigures. Looks very good in the Great Hall. But probably my least favorite of the 3 Charms Class: Comparing to Potions, feels less crowded and more refined. My favorite set of the wave and I really hope we get at least 2 more classrooms in that style. Flying Lesson: Solid exterior build and I like the modules. Personally I don't think Transfiguration could be done much better (granted the same could be said for Charms) so I'm happy to see it included. Nice volume to the silhouette also.
  9. It was a month delayed then because of when they reviewed the rest of the Jan 1 wave. Maybe Lego just didn't want to release it in February.
  10. Maybe, but I feel like we might get 2 medium sets next year each with a Common Room. Like take the Malfoy Manor price point for a Castle Set and exchange it with the Flying Lesson set's price point. I'm also trying to manifest they will do 4 years for this modular wave and then each year will need the flagship modular set.
  11. If they include the Gryffindor Common Room, I would then say Nearly Headless Nick over the Bloody Baron. I just think Lego plans to include all house ghosts with their respective common rooms. That and all the first 5 DADA professors. I was speculating on them including the Slytherin Common Room instead. As it stands, we only have 1 Hufflepuff student, 2 Ravenclaw students, and 3 Slytherin students so far in the 7 castle sets. I don't think the Greenhouse set will include any non-Gryffindor students, so if the Main Tower doesn't we would be 2/3 of the way through the castle with little besides Gryffindor. And Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students are cheap enough to produce since they don't need new molds or prints. I would expect the dungeon module and module between Dumbledore's Office and the Grand Staircase are both removable. I expect there just to be a void behind a square module, similar to in the Great Hall there is space between the modules and the rock wall.
  12. Since we won't get much more in terms of leaks for a while, I have been dreaming up the expected minifigure lineup for the Main Tower. Assuming its either COS or POA based and has 13 minifigures (25% more cost = 2 more minifigures): COS: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, Lockhart, Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, Random Hufflepuff, Random Ravenclaw, Bloody Barron, Moaning Myrtle, Big Fig Basilisk POA: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, Lupin, Sirius, Fred W, George W, Random Hufflepuff, Random Ravenclaw, Bloody Barron, Professor Binns, Hippogriff
  13. I get that, but I don't think those two modules are worth more than $10 combined and probably around 100 pieces total, so Flying Lesson would have likely been $70 at the cheapest.
  14. One June wave, with two castle sets: Main Tower and Herbology. The owlery won’t connect to the main castle since it doesn’t canonically connect.
  15. They could have made better modules and then charged $100 instead of $80. Some fans might not like it, but Lego made the right decision. Now a kid can use their allowance money and get Charms on their own instead of it being paywalled behind a $100 set. And an adult can get both and use the bricks from the less detailed modules to MOC up the main set or display them separately.
  16. I don't think they think they are the same. They just don't want to create another torso only for a polybag. Even though it could be easily used for other sets in nearly all themes.
  17. FIFY. There is a large segment of consumers who don't mind the prices, so why wouldn't Lego release higher get the extra profits and then discount it for the rest of the market.
  18. Poly bag image leaked and Harry is the minifigure (unless you count the statue). Not sure if the torso is new, but overall a meh polybag. Edit: Torso is the Oliver Wood torso from Flying Lesson
  19. Those are all great sets for a younger audience getting into Lego and/or Harry Potter for the first time Battle packs are more geared towards those already into Lego looking to beef out their displays.
  20. There are just not enough sets each year to justify a battle pack. Star Wars has twice the sets and only 1 battle pack a year. They would need to turn either Charms, Dueling or Hedwig into a minifigure pack this year.
  21. The Grand Staircase should connect to the Great Hall right around that corridor, so it will be interesting to see if they try to tie that in. I expect just the Slytherin Common Room, since it seems too soon to introduce a new Basilisk big/buildable fig.
  22. It’s not great and clearly when folded it is supposed to be viewed from one angle. The Charms class fits best it seems under the Great Hall so far.
  23. First review of Flying Lesson has posted on YouTube and the clips are not used when the set is folded up. So pretty sure that confirms two sets will connect to it. One attaching to the smaller tower on the side and another attaching behind the bigger tower. Assume the Greenhouse might be one but maybe a new Astronomy tower.
  24. Did we figure out what movie the Great Hall was based on before images leaked?
  25. Prices look as expected to me. Besides the greenhouse, nothing looks especially bad or especially good. Price per piece has always been a weak correlation because a 1x1 stud is worth a whole lot less than a 16x16 plate (or brand new troll mold). Let’s wait till we get pictures to really judge price
