  1. Though it's not what the topic is about, I suggest broadening the theme to a nintendo or video-game based contest ^.^ - if it's Nintendo, perhaps the prize could be Wii Points XD (Of course, were that to happen I'd make a kick-awesome Metroid or Star Fox MOC...The main reason that I want the UCS Star Destroyer is to build a large model of Meta Ridley >=D) ~Trexxen
  2. Well, I wouldn't know this topic existed had you not bumped it! XD; thanks for that. So, who is everyone's main? Mine's Kirby, followed closely by Sonic and soon to be Wolf, once I figure out how to use him. =P ~Trexxen
  3. Posted my character, and a rather quick (for me anyways - it does look a lot longer on the forums than it did in my notepad...=P) but nice backstory. Question - is being able to infuse my weapons with ice magic too powerful or anything? I'm the only character I've seen so far that battles with magical ability as well as raw strength; just making sure I'm not breaking some taboo or something =P ~Trexxen
  4. Name: Trexxen (alright, I know, not creative - but I got this name from my first major RPG =P) Age: 27 Faction: Vikings Place in Hierarchy: Ex-Army Warlord; currently wanderer Equipment: Small dagger usually mounted on back; "Hildengarde" (razor sharp sword), Shield Specialties: CQC; also able to imbue weapons with ice. Looks: Brown hood; "minifig head with black hair, stubble, and angry eyebrows pattern" (From Peeron), Brown cloak/cape, Brown/red viking torso with chainmail, and brown pants. Very brown. Backstory: (Warning: LONG!) Trexxen was not always a Viking. He was born the son to a "Crownie" wizard, and a peasant woman; however, the mother died in childbirth and the father was called for war three days before his birth. He never returned. The baby Trexxen was happened upon by some wandering Vikings who heard crying in an empty hut, opening it to find the baby Trexxen near-dead, and the mother already gone. They took the baby in, back to their village, where he was raised to the age of seven before being taught the ways of the Vikings. Even at a young age, his skill in combat was unmatched. At the age of eleven he challenged the current army lord to a mock dual, with wooden swords - at that age, Trexxen did not particularly enjoy killing people, especially the innocents. The battle was short, but fierce; and Trexxen struck the winning blow. The general realized that he was getting rusty (he was, after all, the ripe young age of 63), and stepped down three years later, leaving a fourteen year old Trexxen to control the army. At first, he had no real power - the army simply got what they wanted, whether Trexxen liked it or not. One day, Trexxen happened across a young woman whose arm had become trapped within a rope sling trap designed for foxes. Trexxen was still rather short at this time, and barely couldn't reach the rope. When he called upon a member of the army for assistance, he laughed and walked away. Trexxen ran up behind him and stabbed him through the heart with his sword. When he removed it, he was shocked to see that there was no blood on the sword or coming from the man, and yet he had still died. After using the body as a step to reach and save the woman who would become his wife, he examined the wound. The immediate area, including the heart, was crystallized with ice. In his rage, Trexxen had tapped into the powers of his father's side of the family - ice magic. After this display of raw ability, Trexxen began to receive a lot more respect, and eventually controlled over a dozen villiages and their respective armies. Twelve years after that fateful day, at the age of twenty six, Trexxen was personally delivering a letter to a family whose son had died in a war (He's still a softie...) when a courier stopped him. He gasped for breath, and held his arm, which was gashed rather deep and bleeding profusely. "Two of your...villiages...are at war!" Trexxen took the man to a healer and immediately set out to his home villiage to see if everything was alright. He couldn't have been more wrong. His villiage was in shambles - from what he could gather from the few remaining survivors, a slave rebellion had taken over an entire villiage. They took control of the army, and took them here in protest of Trexxen's enslaving them. When they discovered he wasn't there, they began to kill as many people as possible; burning the homes and fields, stealing the goods and horses, and leaving any survivors to rot. As their final show of defiance, they took his wife and beheaded her, leaving her body in Trexxen's bed and her head on a stake in the middle of the villiage before returning to their home, preparing for a counterassault. Trexxen would not give them the pleasure of fighting his army. No, he chose five of his most skilled men and went in himself. Blind rage fueled his magical powers and fighting abilities, and blinded his judgement. Many more than slaves died that day. As Trexxen surveyed the destruction and laughed, a sound filled his ears that stopped him cold. A baby was crying in one of the huts; its mother having been killed before its eyes by the ruthless leader. Trexxen realized what he had done, and took the baby to two survivors in his villiage who had lost theirs, before leaving the villiage and becoming a wanderer. What he is looking for, nobody knows. But one thing is certain - Trexxen now knows that it's hard to see who you're fighting when you don't know what you're fighting for. ~Trexxen
  5. Morituri te salutant! Yay latin. ~Trexxen
  6. I'm definitely joining this, but should I wait for a character topic to go up to post my character? And also, should backstory go in the character info, or should I save it for my first post? ~Trexxen
  7. I know this topic is old old, but why make a new one when I could bring this one back to life? Necromancy on >.> Anywho. I'm kinda a varied spectrum person - if it's not rap, country, screamo, or "nu-metal" (ugh), I love it. When it comes to Classic Rock, I like AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Twisted Sister, The Outlaws (well, mainly Green Grass and High Tides), and many more; but my favorite Classic Rock song at the moment is Highway Song by Blackfoot. Amazing solos, and the verses are nice too. Of course, though, I'm a metalhead at heart; especially heavy, power, and progressive metal (and I'll include Prog Rock here too, depending on your classification). When I'm feeling like something heavy I usually break out the Metallica, Iron Maiden, Sabbath, or Pantera, though there's others too of course =P. My favorite Power Metal bands are definitely Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Symphony X, and Manowar. I'd throw Dragonforce in here too, but I only like a couple of their songs, and they're more speed metal. Last but certainly not least, I love Prog Rock/Metal. Rush, Dream Theater/Liquid Tension Experiment/Petrucci in general, etc. Octavarium is freaking EPIC, you must listen to it now if you haven't. 24 minutes of WIN. And, I like some mainstream/modern(ish) music too. Muse (<3 Knights of Cydonia), Nirvana, Green Day (I know they're from the '80s, but they're mainstream =P), and Matchbook Romance (if only for Monsters - can anyone guess what game series I play yet?) Of course, the music I listen to the most these days, though, is none of these. Bring on the TECHNO, baby! Basshunter is a particular favorite (I know a bot. Her name is Anna, Anna is her name. >.>), along with the works of DJ Taka, Tatsh, DM Ashura (I also play DDR if you can't tell =P), and a few lesser known songs such as Tell Me Why by Louie DeVito, Supadupafly by 666, The Riddle by Gigi D'Agostino, Move Your Dead Bones by Dr. Reanimator, and Ride Out! by ASK. ...Any questions? =P ~Trexxen
  8. I'm definitely in! The Romans are my favorite ancient civilization; and Mafia is my favorite message board game - double win! ~Trexxen
  9. Well, based off of Exobuilder's post: Tennesseeans: They're here at the Knoxville K-Mart. I picked up both the $20 sets. ~Trexxen
  10. Muahaha! *skull* You know what's funny? Not only is this my first Mafia in which I have won (I've been in about ten on another board that is now gone...rest in peace SCU T.T); but I didn't lie once...well, except for the bit about me being innocent, and about being at someone's house one night. I WAS protecting Hinckley's house when I said I was, and I was the bodyguard ^.^ Oh, and as for the clue, I actually knew about it, and alerted ImperialScouts (who, of course, had already figured it out as well). It was really obvious - he limped, and the card said Flatfoot. I'm guessing that you guys just figured that was the real brick blown up, though...right? =P Anywho, we need to do this again - it was fun, and a real throwback to when I used to do this often ^.^ ~Trexxen
  11. C'mon Hinckley, keep on! You aren't going to die... You...Zur...User...Username_Taken? Right, he's the last one that didn't join up in the alliance...vote Username_Taken
  12. I told you already, I'm the bodyguard! I was outside Hinckley's house last night, guarding it. I actually guarded yours a few nights back; now I know I shouldn't have...bloody bandit... And I'm not drunk yet... yet...
  13. Eh, just another termite hole. Besides, adds some weight to it - the lead didn't go all the way through. Make for the station if you want; we'll still catch you before sundown... *skull* And also, you've been editing your words too...tsk, tsk. Where's that whiskey?
  14. *has woken up before casewindu's last post* Man, you really need to calm down...*yawns* How long was I out? Agh, my head...another round for me and Casewindu to calm that man's nerves for tonight. Vote casewindu.
  15. There IS a problem with the wooden peg-leg, guys...what if it snaps? *skull* (by the way, I voted escape to the east and wooden peg leg anyways =P Not like the wheel's going to win...T.T) ~Trexxen
  16. *raises head again, looks Hinckley dead in the eye* Yours...
  17. *raises head* What's to *hic* say? I go to someb'dy's house at night, and I hide. Some bandit comes 'round, I fire off a few warning shots and they leave. How d'you think we've had so *hic* many death free nights? I was off...off'a my *hic* guessin' game tonight, and went to the wrong house. Now somebody's *hic* dead... Another *hic* round...*puts head back on table*
  18. ...Alright, you got me. I'm a bodyguard. I protect people at night. Last night I was wrong, and someone in the alliance died for it. *hic* *lays head down on table*
  19. I actually wasn't with the other two...my job keeps me up at night rather than being a day job, so I usually just come to the saloon when it's over so I can get whiskey and sleep, my two favorite things. Prob'ly why I was passed out for so long yesterday too. Another *hic* round!
  20. Well, since it seems Captain Kirk has turned up missing in action anyways (probably fled, the sneaky snake!); vote Wouwie13. Sorry buddy, someone has to take the fall for the town - if you are a townie as you say, think of it this way - we'll have a better chance at getting a bandit next time. Another round bar-*sees the passed out Molly* Oh. Well then.
  21. Just curious, though I know it's DEFINITELY not something Lego would do, are we allowed to do a Bionicle impulse? I have ideas either way, so it's not that big a deal if I can't, but...=P ~Trexxen
  22. Well now, if we have another one joining, that means we'll need another for this here alliance...now, I don't mean to intrude, but I've been...ah...passed out on that bar stool over yonder for the longest time, only woke a few minutes ago. M'name is Joe, tryin' to forget my last name incase I lynch a relative or somethin... My head hurts somethin' fierce, though...that must be the whiskey callin. A round for all at th' table, strongest whiskey you got!
  23. I'll drink to that! Vote lukeiamyourfather!
  24. Well now, it would seem that whoever's the town protector is doing a great job at choosing which houses to protect at night... Meanwhile, I think I've pretty much figured out who we should lynch next, but I don't want to incite anything yet...Another round, barkeep! ~Trexxen
  25. You know, I'm curious. Every time a debate about how good/bad the new sets are (I think they're alright, if only for the fact that most of them will be dumped straight into my MOCing bin - so far, every set I've seen over $20 in summer 08 is amazing, though) comes along, someone drops Greg's name. Why? He has said time and time again that he has no say in the set design; he has to work with what he's given. If the new sets consist of a group of people with tubes and a group of fish-looking creatures, the story has to go underwater. If they consist of a crapload of jetpacks slapped onto some cookie cutter bodies, guess where the story goes next? I think he's actually starting to take more freedom, to be honest - the Toa Mistika are covered in jets, too, but they're going into a swamp. My point is, though, that the focus groups are the problem here, not Greg. And yeah, I'm defending him. I like the story direction. =P Meanwhile, as I said earlier - the canister sets look to be decent for some parts, especially Tahu Nuva, but in the end, I think I'll open them upside down over my box-o-parts. Vultraz...I'm skipping him completely. Eww. Takanuva will be my first summer set bought, as were Maxilos and Spinax in 07 and Vezon and Fenrakk in 07. The vehicles...well, Jetrax and Axalara are must haves. I may skip out on Rockoh, but if I do, it's only because all of the other lines are so appealing. (Hence the reason I'm skipping Gorast - those Indy sets are <3) ~Trexxen (Edit: Ninja'd. Grevious beat me to it XD)
