In every culture there are kids that don't know what they're doing, and kids that can act like responsible adults. It's not a difference between US culture and UK culture in this case; it's a difference on a person-by-person basis. (Otherwise, quite a few intelligent posters on this board would have been banned long ago.) And that's how it should be treated: a person-by-person basis, where each user is given a chance to prove that they have something to contribute to the community. If someone comes in and it is obvious they are not at the maturity level of an adult (NOT implying anything about age, although the 18+ rule does signify that this is indeed an adult-oriented site), then they should have action taken to either fix that, or to remove them. I liken it to a movie theater showing an R-rated movie - if you got the tickets, and you can't restrain yourself from talking during the movie, you're going to be removed. (Or, in the case above, if you whine about being offended by a certain scene of said movie.) Just my two cents, though - not trying to backseat mod, but it really is an interesting balance between age and maturity based moderating here. ~Trexxen

No pics, mainly because I haven't gotten around to actually counting them yet, but I'm guessing I only own about 20 or so coins at the most. (Sad, but remember, during my semi-dark-age I gave away a massive amount of lego - I had much more beforehand, I recall D=) However, if we could find a system to value the gems (Diamonds, rubies, sapphires, topaz, etc.) then I'm sure I'd be up there - I have a little bag I store all my gems in, and it's full and decently sized...and I'm still looking for more. =D ~Trexxen

OLD Mafia and Mystery Games Index
Trexxen replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hmm...Bluecoats, eh? I think it's time for me to return... ~Trexxen -
Hey now, I love Metal AND I like The Beatles! =P I have to say that Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club band is their best album, because their best song is EASILY the eponymous song from that album. =D Although I'm quite partial to I Am The Walrus too...but who isn't? =P ~Trexxen

Oh yes, last year's was awesome - I'd love to be in it again! Same sigfig as last year here too. =D ~Trexxen

I've been on a major Sonata Arctica spree recently, thanks to me remembering that their new album was out...Currently listening to "Zeroes" by them, which is a really unique song. It was at first a little annoying, especially the opening part which was repetitive and, partway through, atonal; but then once it fit in with the entire song I understood the masterpiece at work. It's brilliant =D (Also, see my signature.) Also have been listening to: Dream Theater - A Nightmare To Remember Dream Theater - In The Name Of God Dream Theater - Octavarium (All three of those songs, btw, are longer than 14 minutes. Yay!) Dethklok - Laser Cannon Deth Sentence Foo Fighters - The Pretender Muse - Feeling Good Muse - Hysteria Megadeth - 44 Minutes (This entire album is good, and I'm not just saying that because I got it autographed by Dave Mustaine and Chris Broderick...=D) Europe - The Final Countdown Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger/Around The World (Alive 2007) And a lot more, but those are the ones that stand out. =D ~Trexxen

Alright, let's keep this short but sweet... Bolded means it's a major want. Wants: -White bricks of any kind (ESPECIALLY the ones used in the 2009 Imperial Fort but I really like anything in white. =P) -Ship parts (Sails, hulls, masts, etc. - Imperial/Neutral sails only please; no skulls and crossbones =P) -Bluecoats -Governor Broadside (or at least his hat) -Cheese slopes in Trans-black, Black, White, or Red -Red slopes -Small sets (Atlantis, Pirates, Space [any kind], or Castle [Again, any kind]) -Parts in the new Atlantis Trans-Green -Atlantis "Cthulhu" fig Haves: -Tons of the new Pirates (Including the wench =D) -Other assorted minifigs (Just ask about particulars; general rule is that I have nothing from licensed themes EXCEPT for Clone Wars Clones and two Battle Droids) -Manta-man and Shark Man (Not particularly attached to either of them; I prefer the divers) -A multitude of parts; especially Bionicle and Technic - just ask and ye shall [if I have it] receive! Rules: -If you have any straightshooter points, I'm willing to send first or at the same time if you wish; however, if you have none yet then I'd prefer you send first. I have 3 so far, so no worries about me not being trustworthy! -Please, PLEASE wait until the deal is finalized before sending! I've had a case before where I had to send parts back because I got them before I was able to verify that I had everything on my end, so please wait until everything is set in stone! =P -Each pays own shipping. Well, that's that - Pics of anything on request, though they may not be the best of quality as my studio is destroyed at the moment...D= Edit: Oh, and I almost forgot: The Three T Guarantee states that if what you receive isn't genuine lego, it's free! =P (Since I don't own any clone brands to begin with...XD) ~Trexxen

What is the funniest things you have heard said about Lego?
Trexxen replied to Sisco's topic in General LEGO Discussion
To me, the difference between "Lego pieces/bricks" and "Legos" (NEVER uncapitalized, though) is the same as the difference between, say, "Hang on a sec" and "BRB". I'll use the second one, sure, but ONLY when I'm in a time-critical situation. Otherwise, I'll just say it the long way and be happy about it. What I don't understand, though, is the stigma in the AFOL community against using the word. It's just a word... As for funny comments, I don't tend to get those often; rather, I enjoy the look on people's faces when I tell them I still enjoy them, or when I'm at the checkout line with some sets. It's always a fun activity to watch their facial reactions. XD ~Trexxen -
I hope I'm not too late for this. =P As some of you may know, a while back I applied for video editor, but a tag team of computer troubles and school led to me not being able to fulfill my obligations. Now, however, I have a reliable PC, and this is a topic I have a great deal of experience in. I understand if my last...hem, performance would make me seem less desirable, but I'd certainly enjoy being able to contribute to Classic Pirates once again. It was a great honor during the time I could actually access it =P I'm 16, by the way - no worries on age. ~Trexxen

That's not sad, you'd be surprised how many of those freaked out people. The old "THX" logo/sound still creeps me out to this day. ~Trexxen

No offense to anyone that does, but I personally don't believe in ghosts, spirits, demons, etc. existing TODAY (that is, I believe there is a small chance they existed during biblical times - but that's a whole new can of worms I don't feel like opening), mainly because I haven't seen it. I subscribe to the scientific method of proof - if I see it happen myself, then it's real. Now, on the OTHER hand, I do believe in UFOs/aliens and I HAVE seen them, or if not a UFO, a particularly amazing phenomena. I was out with some friends one night a few years ago - it was the weekend after the fourth of july and we were loaded with leftover fireworks, and us being the way we were, we were out having fun with them. On our way back to my friend's house, I was staring at the sky - something I like to do on clear nights; it's interesting - when suddenly I saw a bright light dart across the sky at what had to be at least mach 2 or 3 speeds; faster than any jet I've ever seen. And then (and this is what made me believe it's not a normal military plane or something), it came to a full stop. No slowdown. Now, anyone who knows anything about inertia knows that the ship's inhabitants, if there were any, should have at that point succumbed to the "Chunky Salsa Rule" and suffered a critical existence failure, or in other words, have been horribly injured. But no, a few seconds later, it shot off again. Fireworks, planes, jets - none of them can explain what on Earth I saw. Or rather, what off of Earth... ~Trexxen

What's with the staff's usernames?
Trexxen replied to Sir Dano's topic in Forum Information and Help
Smurf yeah! I love Smurfs =D (Psst - maybe a subtle change in the word filter that filters curses to Smurf instead of Megablocks? =P) ~Trexxen -
I know that you guys already planned this entire thing out, but with the massive influx of activity this has brought, I have to say that it looks like this will get filled up pretty fast - in the event that it does, will you be opening a second build like the Star Wars community Venator project? ~Trexxen

I'm afraid of many, many things. Where to begin... - Finding "The One". I know it's a cheesy fear, but c'mon, everyone has it at some point I'm sure. - Spiders. Good lord, spiders...;_; And pretty much ANYTHING on this page: Warning: Long page with many scary things. (No pictures on that page, or anything really gross - just scary stuff or descriptions thereof. So don't worry; it's a safe site. May be some language though.) Examples from that page include the thought that everything we ever do is meaningless, black pox (a form of smallpox that is almost 100% fatal and can...I'll let you look the rest up), and Chlorine Trifluoride, which makes Dimethyl Mercury look wimpy in comparision... ~Trexxen

I'll take #44, the Soldier's Watch Tower. Hehe, this should be fun - my first community build! =D Edit: Oh hey, since this is also the questions thread, I have one: Does baseplate style/color matter at all? I know size does, but is there any standard part/group of parts being used for the plates? ~Trexxen
-
Well since I don't know my number by heart, I think I'll post real quick and then edit in my set...XD EDIT: ...I'm not a set at all. *cries* What are the odds of that... ~Trexxen

I just remembered; I have a ton of those cannons (with the red holder). I don't have the wheels for them though; do you still want them? ~Trexxen (You know what sucks? Putting the wrong signoff because you've gotten used to another name elsewhere XD)

Wow! This is awesome =D As a huge fan of Starcraft, I have to say that you've captured the Yellow Team's battlecruiser perfectly! =D I must say, though, I'd love it if the mutalisks were to-scale - a bit unreasonable, given their size in-game, but it's still awesome =D Now...why does nobody make Lurker MOCs? =P ~Trexxen

Ooh, now here's a topic that's right up my alley! =D I'm a pirate fan, but I only like the Imperials, so I have tons of Pirate figures if you want. =D My list (I found as many as I could and have them next to me as I type this) of extra figs consists of eight complete pirates, including the wench; two incomplete pirates with heads (basically just missing the hat, and Brickbeard's case, the epaulettes; I could find them for you if you really want though); and two sets of pirate torsos and legs. I also have two complete Imperial officers with tricornes (they're extra) and a torso/leg assembly for a third. In terms of accessories I didn't find much extra, but I have a cutlass, three muskets, three flintlocks, and two eyeglass parts in pearl gold. ^.^ I can give a pic if you want it. (Note: One of the complete pirates has Gold Tooth's head, hope you don't mind. =P) What I need are cheese slopes in red, white, black, and both kinds of bley; any Atlantis-trans-green windshields you may have, red 1x2 bricks, plates of any kind, and tiles of any kind (Guess which theme I like? =P), dark blue windshields of any kind, gems of any kind but ESPECIALLY smoke if you have one (but IIRC they're pretty rare), any OLD imperials you have (especially Bluecoats), any sails/masts you may have, and a Skull Twin's helmet. <_< </most random list ever> ~Trexxen

Ratshot: Indeed, and it's just as nice to be able to come out =P Stupid unreliable technology...Thanks! XD BluedragonZ: Thanks! I've always got time to share what I love! ^.^ Milan: High School in my case, but may as well be college, I've got three AP courses...-_- Thanks! computerbug: Thanks! I hope people get to know me a little better too; I'm trying to get out of the lurking habit...I'm one of those "don't post unless you have something worth posting" people =P cralegoboy: Hehe, you'd think conquering hero...until around the third game, where I got wrongly voted off =P Thankies! Dragonator: ...D'aww, now that just made me happy. Don't worry, I'm fine (well, physically...always been a little off mentally XD), and don't worry, I said I was going on a mafia hiatus - I didn't say it'd be a particularly long one...I'm starting to feel the old urge again already! Thanks! Alice: Haha, thanks! Like I said to Dragonator, I don't think my planned hiatus for "school reasons" will end up going anywhere - once you get pulled in, you're hooked for life! XD (Oh dear, I missed one! Ninja'd on my own topic...XD) ~Trexxen

I actually think this is one of the best sets out of the entire Power Miners line! The model IS small, there's no denying that - compared to most of the other sets, it'll LOOK like a $15-20 set - it was smaller than the one with the claws, IIRC. But then you get to building it and you realize why it's so small - it's full of tiny, in some cases hard to find parts! I'm pretty sure (and now that I've said this someone is going to look and prove me wrong but eh) that the dynamite shooter portion alone is 50-75 parts, and the tiling in the vehicle looks really nice. It's one of the best sets at its price point, and definitely the best out of the PM line...so far. (Haven't touched the 2010 sets yet unfortunately. ;_;) ~Trexxen

Last movie I watched was Watchmen. I know I'm waaaaay late on that, but it's now officially in my favorite movies of all time. ^.^ Everything about it was amazing, but the part that stood out the most (besides the acting; especially on Dr. Manhattan) was the soundtrack...so much awesome, except for the credits. =P ~Trexxen

Mmm, interesting... - My real name is Travis. - I live in a decent sized city called Knoxville, which I like because I tend to get newer sets on store shelves quickly. =D - My left eye has a particularly annoying habit of spasming, specifically in the lower eyelid. - My username is actually a name I made for myself in a Metroid RPG way back in 2004. Needless to say, it stuck. - I am a huge video game nerd; especially when it comes to rhythm/music games. This may have something to do with the fact that... - I sing, play keyboard, and am learning (sorta =P) how to play the guitar. =D - I have widely varied musical tastes - if I put my iTunes on random, I'll go from Blue Oyster Cult to Basshunter to Megadeth to Rush to happy techno music etc. - I've owned three MP3 players. - None of those have been iPods. - My favorite movies, in no particular order since I've given up on ordering, are Mars Attacks!, Kill Bill (both volumes of course), the Harry Potter films, The Dark Knight, and Watchmen. - I just watched Watchmen for the first time last night. It was amazing. - I've never truly gone into a dark age; rather, I've gone into small "dark spurts" caused either by my wishes to be more mature (when I was younger; I actually swore off of cartoons for six months when I was eight because I was trying to be more like an adult...lol), my lack of legoes to use (gave them all to a friend during the very beginning of another spurt, realized my stupidity, cured myself of the darkness by finding out that my friend had a fondness for Exo-Force), or simply not being able to get to them =P (This summer, my room was being remodeled and I got a total of one lego set, due to large amounts of video games coming out) - I've been using the internet since the age of five; I knew more about computers than my parents at the age of six. That's not me bragging, that's me joking about it. =P I'm currently 16. - I'm unusually shy and modest in real life. - I'm unusually calm and collected on the internet. - I'm unusually open and shameless to people I know well on the internet when I know I can't be tracked back to what I say by people I know in real life. - I'm unusually repetitive tonight. - I have an odd tendency of overusing emotes, to the point where sometimes they become a form of punctuation. ^.^; - The reason I'm stopping this list here is because I'm getting ready to go play some videogames. =D (Probably the Metroid Prime Trilogy. =D) - I didn't stop the list there because I felt that it would be a good idea to note that I'm OCD about one thing: signing off on my posts. ~Trexxen

Neptune Carrier...easily one of the best sets I've built; the techniques make it feel like a good MOC rather than a lego set, and just the fact that I've been wanting it for so long [i liked the Atlantis line since I looked at it]...=D ~Trexxen

Wow, Madoka, that car is really nice! =D I got...(Warning: Long list inbound!) Lego: Mazeka (bought with pre-Christmas party money; it was on sale for $13!) Typhoon Turbo Sub (Same, but not on sale =P) Smash 'n Grab Guardian of the Deep Galactic Enforcer (The only "big" set I wanted =D!) Tank Droid (the new one, I forget the full name but eh; gotten from my brother in exchange for a DS game mistakenly bought for me [My DS = stolen, but my bro just got one]) Neptune Carrier (Totally unexpected find at Wal-Mart today; used my Christmas cash to grab the last one in the store =D) Non-Lego: DJ Hero w/ Turntable (360) Brutal Legend (360) Lego Rock Band (Uh...technically non-lego anyways XD) (360) Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii) Sonic and the Secret Rings (Wii) Left 4 Dead 2 (PC) Oblivion GOTY Edition (PC) 1 Year XBox Live Gold 4 GB SD Card 16 GB Flash Drive "Watchmen" DVD (AMAZING movie, just watched it and I recommend it to all) Candy and Clothing =D I had a great year, methinks. =D ~Trexxen
