Well this is a bit of a mess. What did I say about investigating calmly? I don't see much sense in any of the votes that are being made, however I do wish to place a vote, as I do feel that doing nothing is not the way to solve our dilemma. For now, I will reserve my judgement and await further discussion before I come to a conclusion. Lieutenant Commander Gordon hasn't been particularly nice so far, and is always mean to me in Command meetings, however I get the feeling he is just a little too enthusiastic about finding scum on day 1, rather than actually trying to be manipulative. As for the other votes, they each make as little sense as the next. Rockford is certainly putting his reputation and possibly life on the line if it turns out that Ensign Pewter is in fact innocent. I wish to hear more from both before proceeding with my vote. Munches on his wiener. Continue.

Chief Security Officer Lieutenant George Harper yawns. Well this is all very interesting, and possibly helpful with further evidence later on. I can't say I really agree with any of the accusations made so far, but it is early in the day still. Lunch, anyone? I could do with something including potatoes. I'm defiantly going to do something violent in a minute.

I do love some good security footage. Let's go about this investigation calmly and with the utmost respect to our Admiral, crazy bastard that he is.

That one is worthy of the 2012 EB Games Awards. -
I love it, really nicely built scene, and great lighting.

And that, ladies and gentleman, is how not to play Mafia. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a birthday dinner I would much rather be attending. -

I deserve a better death scene than that! Where's the damn chandelier? Thanks for hosting Bob, I seem to have a habit of dying on Day 1 that I need to break. Best of luck to the town, hang in there! -
Well, since there is still time left in the day, I shall cast my vote too. Not overly compelling, but it is a start. Vote: Ensign Peter Robbins (KingoftheZempk)

Well this is just great, not much I can do to save a dead body. It was good knowing you Captain... looks like we're in a bit of a situation now, but nothing we haven't had to face in the lonely reaches of space before. Agreed Lieutenant, a lack of decorum aboard this ship will get us nowhere. Let's try not to be too rash in dealing with this situation and approach it with cool heads please. I have ice-packs if needed.

Welcome aboard everyone, I'm Chief Medical Officer Lieutenant Commander Julius Burbank, M.D. Don't pester me unless you have a valid reason, thank you. Evening Ricky, nice to see you here. -
*looks around and raises hand slowly* I think I've played some Mafia somewhere along the line. At least the FBI seem to think so, they're outside my house... Spaaaaaaaaace!! Want to go to SPAAAAAAAACE!! I believe the answer you are looking for is 42. It's the answer to everything, you know.

Steampunk Mafia: Conclusion
Dragonator replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Oh right, hello mister host! I liked this game a lot. The mechanics were fresh, and the the balance was very decent I feel, except for the conversion. I think that was a bit of a kick in the pants for the town, as it put the ratio from 9:3 down to 8:4, which is a pretty difficult position for town to fight from. Doesn't take much for a scum team to win on those odds, when you take into account that it isn't just a numbers game, they can persuade and manipulate too. Other than that though, I liked the variety in the roles and the overall workings of the game, it came together really nicely and was very fun to follow after I died, even if I was banging my head against a wall by the end. I don't like one-shot actions much, they annoy me. I always end up either not using it and dying, or using it too soon. Looking at the spread of power roles and the limited player cohort, I can understand why you wanted one-shot actions, but I think that from a playing perspective, one decent action is often more beneficial to the town than 3 one-shot actions. Plenty of room for interpretation there though, one-shot actions do have their place and there was nothing wrong with you using them. I should note I haven't looked at many basic games on Mafiawiki, since our style here differs a fair bit, did you find much of use there for game balance? Lastly I should probably make a few notes on the playing aspect. I had a great deal of fun, although I am extremely disappointed I never got to inspect the chandelier in the steampunk ballroom. This oversight will need to be corrected for Steampunk Mafia 2. Day one was fun, lots of silly jokes and then some interesting voting. Rick stood out for me as acting a bit odd, as did MetroiD, but he acted odd for the whole game (sorry man! ). I decided not to use my action because I was either going to die night one or everything would be a jumbled mess. Day 2 was great as we got to lynch the first assassin, and I was very happy with the reasoning there. Then I died and everything turned to crap. So after my death I followed along, and was rather astonished that Pandora kept getting away with everything she was saying in the thread, especially after MetroiD died. Some of the reasoning on the last day was appalling! With the hindsight that there were actually three assassins left, not two, so that did make things a lot more confusing for the town. Zepher, your little plan on the last day was still a complete face-palm-worthy moment though, not going to lie. I turned on him because he said cock. Seriously, Mafia is all about innuendo and lame sausage jokes, cock is just so... crude! It's small points of etiquette like that which can get you killed you know! Which in this case may have been a good thing considering your role. -

Very well done Scum, you played a good game. Townies, you should have been more on the ball; not lynching Pandora was just silly, and Zeph you really dropped yourself in it on the last day! I am glad I betted on Corny over Bob with Shadows. I didn't have a clue about Cecilie though. I had good reason to believe there were only two left, so shush. Stupid brown frog. Thanks for hosting Hinck, lovely presentation as usual. -

Ah well, at least you scumbags didn't stick to tradition and kill me on night 1. Thanks for the game Hinck, it was very fun! -
Shanalon, save the jumping for the bedroom, sheesh. Vote: Ruben Castleton (Rick)

Sounds pretty good to me, looks like we'll be throwing an assassin overboard this evening! In the meantime, gimme some of that pie.
-
Mmmm, I sure love solid... evidence? Oh, yeah that too. Well, it seems to me we aren't any closer to anything than we were yesterday. Well, that's how it would appear, anyway. Appearances sure can be deceptive though! I don't suppose the Queen left some pie lying around? I could sure do with some pie.

Hmm. I think it's best to try and think as logically as we can about our votes today, despite the lack of anything to go off. Charles said the c word. Vote: Charles Pleasance (CallMePieOrDie) And all that other stuff too, but the mention of poultry was the deciding factor for me.
