  1. So Lloyd is just a kid? Huh. That's an interesting twist for a villain. He doesn't look like a very self-confident one either. Love those two-headed snake dudes. I don't really care for any of the ninja vehicles except the ship, but the Rattlecopter and the Snakemobile look sweet.
  2. Wow, these pics are fantastic! Speaking as a lifelong dinosaur fan and collector of dinosaur merchandise, I can say that these look really, really great. The raptor and the T. rex should have feathers, but that can be forgiven. I'm just torn between the red T. rex and the green one. Probably will end up going with the former, since it'll be cheaper. Or perhaps not.
  3. Given how many Lego animals there are, and how many there are yet to do, I'm kind of surprised Lego hasn't done a series of zoo-themed sets in the City line. They could have an aviary, a bear enclosure, a monkey enclosure, a reptile enclosure with crocodiles and snakes, and an aquarium with sharks and octopi. Also, redeco the horse mould to make it into a zebra. And to top it off, bring back the elephant from Adventurers and toss in some all-new animals like giraffes, lions, and tigers. Thoughts?
  4. That base set looks fantastic! Great colour scheme on the T. Rex, but I still prefer the red one that comes with the Skycrane.
  5. I . . . don't see how the T. rex's eyes are any more or less blank than the other dinosaurs, or say, the dragons from Knights. I hate stickers myself, but I figure if you leave them unapplied, you get a nice Skycrane to join your construction vehicles.
  6. As others have already noted, whether or not Alien Conquest measures up to the rest of Lego Space is purely arbitrary. Personally, I think it fits the Space criteria just fine---and by 'Space criteria,' I mean that it centres around outer space travellers. I definitely feel that it's head and shoulders above say, Life on Mars, Exploriens, and Sectoids. Oh, and I work in a retail chain that sells Lego, and so far, Alien Conquest has been doing well.
  7. At least the Ice Dragon wasn't that much smaller than the Fire Dragon. And it could fly anywhere it wanted. Zane's snowmobile is not only laughably puny, it's severely limited in terms of traversing terrain. Good luck keeping up with the other three ninjas on that thing! They should've given him a great big snow tank instead.
  8. These prices come as no surprise. Sadly, this means Canadian prices will be even higher. I sure hope we get these sets in at work so I can use my staff discount!
  9. I go by the nick of Suspsy. I'm from Canada, I'm a lifelong Lego fan, and I've lurked here off and on, but now I'm here to stay!
  10. To each their own. Again, I'm impressed at the scientific accuracy of these dinosaurs---the T. rex even appears to have binocular vision. And its sheer size means kids and adults will have a lot fun terrorising their Cityscapes with such a ginormous toy. And yeah, if you want to build a dinosaur from scratch, there's always Creator.
  11. What did you expect? City revolves around three main themes: Police, Firefighters, and Construction. Personally, I'd love it if we got sets like a restaurant, a grocery store, and a school, but TLG is going with what sells best. And hey, at least they're finally putting a new twist on the themes instead of just giving us yet another Police Mobile Headquarters.
  12. Wow, the country police force is so tough, they've got a trained bear working for them! Look at how it's cornered that gold-stealing bandit in a tree, right outside the police station!
  13. Well, it's always neat when Lego tries something new, but as I said, I'm quite, quite happy with these dinosaurs. That Tyrannosaurus rex is easily the most accurate one yet. Same goes for the Triceratops. I do wonder how many minifigures can fit into the T. rex's mouth.
  14. I was kind of hoping the dinosaurs would be along the lines of the Ninjago dragons, but they still look awesome, especially the Tyrannosaurus rex. Totally getting that set.
