My thoughts: This was one of my favourite sets as a kid. Obviously a bit larger than the original but does keep the does keep the idea of the footprint. As much as I like the detail on the 'sand' with multiple levels of tan plates, I dont think an official set would have this much detail at least not with a set of this size. I know the original set had 3 minifigures but even though this one is bigger I think 3 is a good number for this set. You could have fit 5 minifigs in but they might feel a little pointless, even if they're not squishy. I feel the top level is a little vacant though, if you squeeze 1 or 2 details up there it might look a little more lived in. I do love the detachable top level, mine are always clunky when I try but your looks really clean.

My thoughts: I love smaller builds, you packed in a lot of colour in a small area. The palm tree on the water doesn't look quite right, I understand why it is that way but does mesh well with the tan sloped bricks. Hidden gold is great, this is the kind of attention to detail official lego sets have. Not sure if a real lego set would have the chest being unopenable though. I think the foilage on the front is fine and not too over the top, however the back might be. I don't feel a set of this size would have that many details on the backside. And I like the good amount of minifig accessories: numerous bottles, sword, fish & pot, the light and the gun. It's just the right amount for this set.

I'd like to join in in this too. I've been really getting into pirates recently so interested sto see what people come up with.

My most recent MOC (a while ago now) was when I got the toucan from the birdwatcher collectable. Here on rebrickable.

I'm excites for this but I have can't even display PoBB because it's so big. How would I display this fortress next to something I don't have space for in the first place?

Long time lurker, with the new 10230 Eldorado Fortress competition it's about time I get my own account. Lego Pirates is my favourite theme and I want to try and work technic functions into MOCs. I'm also into Castles and technic as a whole. Looking forward to spending time here.
