LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
JohnTPT17 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think it's more likely Dragon + Donkey. Shrek will sell plenty on his own, so might as well break up the main iconic duo. -

Called it! I'll set a set of them - maybe an extra of a few of them, we'll see. Hopefully there's enough budget to set some good accessories as well. -

Unikitty was at least a buildable figure with several parts - I think Donkey would either be a single mold or a body + head, like Scooby-Doo. In that context, I'm less sure which route Lego would go with. -

My biggest wish if they are going the Shrek route is that the series is "Shrek" and not "Shrek 5". I'd much rather have Farquad and Fairy Godmother over Shrek's kids. I also wonder what they would do with Donkey - does he get his own slot, or is he an accessory? -

Update from Bricktap on the September CMF: "I wouldn’t rule out a 2027 movie for the series after 29" Makes me think Shrek is back on the table. -
Guessing Game - Minifigure Collectibles Series 29
JohnTPT17 replied to Lion King's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think I'll give myself a half point for my Dragon Hatcher (the idea I had in my head is similar to the Monster Hunter), and maybe a tenth of a point each for predicting a food costume and a new tiara. So, .7 points for me! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

I took a quick peak at the trailer, and there's a lot of background characters or extra "Things 3-12" that could be used to fill some slots. Or, it could just be a general Seuss series to broadly tie-in with the movie, like what happened with Looney Tunes and Space Jam 2. For now, I'll either guess Seuss or Shrek - there's a chance the leakers didn't realize the movie was bumped back and got that bit wrong (it's happened before). -
Guessing Game - Minifigure Collectibles Series 29

One figure has now been leaked - Garbage Monster! With Lloyd and Tahu already rumored to come, that only leaves nine slots left... 1. Old-Timey Explorer (Charles Darwin-like minifig with dodo animal) 2. Salon Stylist (Female minifig with at least two brand new hair pieces for accessories - kinda like Dog Sitter from awhile back) 3. Hamburger Costume Girl (I know we jsut got a bunch of costumes, but I have a feeling one will sneak in regardless...) 4. Detective Gal (A nod to the now-public domain Nancy Drew, maybe even in greyscale like Noir Detective) 5. Proper Princess (Purple princess costume with new tiara, similar in style to Fantasy Era's princess) 6. Fire Demon (Mostly trans-orange, will immediately be hoarded by people wanting Johnny Storm customs) 7. Baker Woman (Featuring a new rolling pin mould and/or a piping bag) 9. Lion Costume Dancer (featuring a Chinese lion head and a cape to represent the body) 10. Dragon Hatcher (featuring a recolored purple gradon from D&D and a new color of egg) -
LEGO Collectable Minifurries Series 28. Rumors and discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My Walmart had two boxes out when I stopped by this afternoon - one was almost full, and one was almost empty. Seem to be pretty popular thus far! I was still able to get everything I wanted, though: lion, monkey, croc, and frog (plus two other ones for gifts)- 178 replies

Disney Properties 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
We are getting the animal costume series in a week - I imagine anything Zootopia related would have to wait awhile to come out. And it might make just as much sense to only do Judy and Nick in a CMF, or maybe one set with 3-4 characters, as opposed to a full CMF. -
We can always hope that we get something with minifigs later, like Wicked ended up getting... Hopefully those sets were popular enough that Lego would consider it worth it! I'd be quite interested in a minifig-based set, but I'll pass on mini dolls.

LEGO Collectable Minifurries Series 28. Rumors and discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Of recent CMFs, I think D&D has probably been the most popular. They all disappeared very quickly, and despite regular restocks from several different stores, continued to sell out regularly. Non-IP - maybe Series 10 has a bit of an edge due to the Mr. Gold chase? Don't know if I would put money on that, though. There's definitely been some notable IP bombs, though - Simpsons 2 wasn't good, F1 still hasn't been able to sell near me, and Looney Tunes also struggled near me. Series 23 was also not super popular.- 178 replies

A Bridge set (and potentially a Promenade, or even just Quark's from DS9) would be my ideal future for Star Trek sets. Not only could the cost easily be about half that of the entire Enterprise, but you could get all of the associated minifigures and give all of them something to do in a much more "playable" role. I'd love to set up some scenes of a crew with my Muppet minifigs, for example - not near as easy or fun to do that when all of the minifigs are just statically standing to the side of the ship. Zelda seems to potentially be going down a somewhat similar path (starting with a large model, then going to something smaller a few years later), so it could potentially be in the cards.

My initial thought was that Ro could potentially share a head with Major Kira from DS9, so Ro was chosen to "get ahead" on prints. However, Kira wears her ear piece over the opposite ear from Ro, so that might not be the case...

Lion is my favorite of the bunch. I'll grab one of him, even if he arguably has the worst accessory. Might get one or two others, but I didn't need a full series of animal costume to begin with.- 178 replies

LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
JohnTPT17 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I was also a long-time lurker. I was first brought in due to @WhiteFang's CMF reviews - the detailed photos and scenes with other minifigures did wonders for my imaginations, and knowing the rarities and suggestions of what to feel for were very helpful for a poor middle schooler who might only be able to get one or two at a time if I got lucky and was with my parents when out shopping. I think Series 10 was the first one I remember reading when it was new, and that was published in 2013! I also remember following the leaks of Lego Dimensions through Eurobricks a few years later - good times. I didn't make my account until 2023 - specifically, it was to discuss the recently leaked Disney 100 castle. I had a few thoughts I wanted to share about it and I didn't see any other places that were discussing it, so I made an account to finally start talking about a few things. I suppose that's what finally got me to make an account - having something that I thought I could contribute that other people might not have thought about or noticed. Since I was only a spectator, my observations are only anecdotal, but Eurobricks used to have a lot more active and new users. There's potentially a few reasons why - closer Lego ambassador ties (some members getting review sets and posting them here), less sites being open to discussions on specific topics (other older sites like Brickset are more blogs than forums), etc. It was also a good place to ask questions, and leaks could be discussed more freely (there's still leaked photos up if you dig into some of the older threads). Nowadays, a lot of the Lego discussions have been a bit "Walmart-ified" into bigger sites. Why visit smaller forums when you can get all of your Lego news from, say, Reddit, and also get news for the other hobbies you're in to all at the same place? That's partly a generational things of convenience, and partly due to shorter attention spans from a lot of people - Eurobricks can discuss a topic for weeks on end and still have things to say about it, while most other social media posts rely on a "flash in the pan" style of news, not to be discussed again after 48 hours. And as far as questions go - why make an account, post a question, and wait for a possible response from a human, when you can just do a quick Google search and get an answer in seconds? Lego broadly also became a lot more vigilant about images of leaks, which could have turned people to other sources for info. Again, though, that's mostly just based on trends I've seen as an outsider - the reality could be completely different! -

Those are some slick looking minifigures - especially with relatively inexpensive parts! At first glance, I thought they were the ghosts of Uncle Vernon and Ant Petunia from Harry Potter

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
JohnTPT17 replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Another wrench to potentially throw into the "will certain minifigure parts be available or not" discussion... I was checking out some reviews for some of the BDP Series 6 sets (I will probably pass on this wave and get Lion Knight's Castle before it retires instead) showed some prototype designs for some of the Series 7 and Series 8 sets. The Alchemist's Workshop set got a complete overhaul of the minifigures, and now features minifigs with one kraken knight, one griffin knight, two horse knights (from the Creator set), and the new ghost piece from the haunted house. Additionally, one of the upcoming ships has the pirate and soldier torsos and the desert castle had the snake knight torso/shield from the Minifig Dispenser as well. There's also a few parts that I recognized from Medieval Town Square (specifically, the goat and the dark red skirt piece), even though MTS is supposed to be retiring at the end of this year. We've already seen some funky parts being added to some of these BDP sets, as the grey wolf has only been released thus far in the January CMF and is supposed to be retired now. I do wonder, though, if the BDP might be able to give a few hints as to what we might be able to expect being available on Pick a Brick in the future, or if certain parts might be "saved" and be included in more sets in January. I can't seem to come up with any definitive rules or trends from what I see, though, so it could all just be nothing... -
New parts for the holiday have leaked!

Though it would allow for those of us with smaller wallets and shelf space to get a few small things a la carte as we have room for them. That does lead to another con of duplicates between sets, though - but, LoTR has that issue sometimes anyways, and more duplicates would bring down loose aftermarket prices on Bricklink for those just wanting figures.
