  1. Ok, i have done more play testing for the excavator and it’s really fun to play with. I cannot wait to release this. Im really excited for the launch. I hope by monday i will get the free Gen3 instructions done. Im soo excited to launch my next flagship to you:). And i will promise this will eat the 42215 for a feast;). And this wont dissapoint like the sad 42215:). And my gen 3 instructions are apparently so dumbed down that the much bigger 42215 has fewer building steps. The 42215 has 611 vs my model's 804 pages:). My model has 2172pcs The 42215 has 2359pcs
  2. Oh, i just found out that by tapping 2 times the arrow you could make that flexible. Now i don't have to use 2 arrows if i make a bend with the arrow:).
  3. The drivetrain to nothing was created by cobi and lego seemingly taked notes from cobi's design:).
  4. Ok, i did calculate and my newest flagship has 110 gears inside. Oh Wow:).
  5. Now i added bill of materials. And now this has 17 extra pages for parts list;). And the excavator will be splitted to 2 books. The chassis and the superstructure:).
  6. And now, finaly the 3d model is done final piece count 2199pcs. But it will shrink due to the u joints and small linear actuator became a single piece on rebrickable part list:). Currently this has 804 pages with 804 building steps:).
  7. Allright now the model is 80% done it only needs body panels and battery box:). Pieces so far 1829pcs. So my current estimate for the final part count 2100-2200pcs:).
  8. Well, after a lot of blood sweat and tears;). Now the 8043 boom is done:). Current piece count 1701:).
  9. Allright, now the h*llish process of recreating the 8043 boom instructions begins:).
  10. Allright now the superstructure gearbox is done. Pieces so far 1380pcs:). I will now go to bed it's 21:29 or 9:29PM. And continue this montage tomorrow. Today i started the work at 7:45 or 7:45AM. So over 12h of building with minimal breaks:). And i will now have to mentaly prepare my self for tomorrow. Since tomorrow will be h*llish day, because i will build the 8043 boom. I hope it will go smoothly. But im still worried for my U joint skills. That's why my models don't use a lot of U joints:).
  11. Allright now i will take a break. Now this has surpassed the 8043 with piece count;). Currently this model has 1160pcs. And i have installed the main motor drivetrain, first 2 functions and the drivetrain for the chassis gearboxes:).
  12. Allright now the chassis is done. Chassis final piece count 1053pcs:).
  13. Thanks for the tip:). I checked my settings and the rendering quality was on the second highest level. So i lowered it to middle level. Let see if that helps:).
  14. Ok, i don't know what black magic i used. But while the chassis is much smaller than the 42082 chassis. This chassis has already 895 pcs. Even Though it's not completed yet:). So my part count estimate is around 1800-2500pcs:). I really hope i can finish these instructions. Because my 2016 laptop struggles with the bigger models and some times corrupts the file. But someday i will buy beefier machine. But currently the laptop is my bottleneck and i cannot make over 3000pcs mocs because my computer don't have enought power:).
  15. Little bit more progress for the instructions:). Pieces so far 562:). And my previous mocs used 2L axles in black and red. But with this one and future mocs i will only use the black 2L axle:). And while my models are mostly black and white. I do use subtle color coding some times to make sure the final builder doesn't botch the build;).
  16. Now to the obligatory final part count quiz. I feel like this model has around 1500-2100pcs:). And yes, i do a lot of playability testing with this one. Since the previous "flagship" failed miserable and it had to be scrapped. But this one does deliver on the promise of fun playable technic model. Without any compromises. Yes, i can agree the superstructure rotation might be a bit too slow. But i wanted to make sure it does work without any hiccups. Since the tracked outback dumper had a few quirks for it's rotation and this one fixes all of those quirks. But other than that the rest of the functions do work much better and faster than on the poor 42215:). And my building and engineering skills might be slightly improved again. Because the gearboxes were pretty easy to design, without any gray hairs;).
  17. And since i do care for my models to hold up. I do a rough handeling test. And this again holds up perfectly:). And i will tomorrow get back to creating the 3d model and the free Gen3 instructions:).
  18. Ok, i do like reading old posts and reviews and apparently this is illegal connection:). Luckily it's 2026. So i will be a good boy and i will replace this ancient relic with modern legal solution:). Thanks to this pin:).
  19. More progress for the instructions. Now i will take the much needed break. I have builded this 4-5 days straight and i have not gone outside or grocery shopping. So now i will take much needed break from this:). And in case you are curious yes, my fingers really hurt yesterday evening when i stopped for the night, because i had builded 4-5 days straight about over 12h a day. With minimal breaks:).
  20. Allright now the free Gen3 instructions madness begins:). Let's see how well i can replicate the 8043 boom instructions. Because im noob with u joints;).
  21. Little bit of testing. The 1x XL motor can handle 3 boom functions at the same time without any issues. So even thought this has only 1 motor. The 8043 boom is as playable as on the real 8043 set with 4 motors. But since the 8043 used M motors the 8043 isin't as powerfull as this one. Because my model uses XL motor:).
  22. Allright my first upper gearbox design had few weird quirks. So i had to rework the gearing. Now it doesn't anymore have any quirks:).
