I'm hoping that Osborn is more of a behind the scenes villain, as I worry that the film might become a bit busy. I think they can pull off three villains, but I still can't help but worry.

Wherever Wolverine is. I'm just joking, but seriously, all but one of those movies seem to revolve around him. It's why I can't get into X-Men, there is just too much Wolverine. He doesn't interest me in the first place, and he has too much exposure. On the matter of the MCU, of those who have seen Thor 2, what did you think? Why sister saw it and loved it, though she admits it was not a particularly good film. I'll see it other way, but I am interested in what you think.

A Jawa? But yeah, I see your point. I just associate imps more with fairies than demons I guess, probably because of their nonthreatening name. (no offense to fairies, those guys will mess you up)

I haven't really considered the speed yet of AoS as one of its flaws, partly because I mostly see the show as a springboard for a rebooted Knifefish universe to write about. (finished the initial trilogy today, it takes place between episode 2 and 3, episode 6 and 7, and after 9. Might post it sometime, possibly on a site designed for fan fiction) But ignoring my writings, I feel like though the show progressively gets better, though it still isn't too great. I don't know exactly why, though even a continuity nerd like me is getting tired of the movie references. In fact that might be part of the problem tying into the pacing, I don't feel like the show has really started to become its own thing yet. Episode 2 had a Hydra Weapon, Episode 8 an Asgardian Staff, Episode 9's plot was influenced by Thor 2, Episode 6 a Chitauri disease, even the Centipede Project runs on Extremist, the Superhero Serum, and gamma radiation. (Still waiting for Simmons to develop alien electricity powers by the way) Now I love that we get to see how the movies are influencing the world at large, don't get me wrong. But I would like to see something untapped.

Wait, people thought Hybros was a demon? How long was I gone?
-
Okay, I'm getting excited, looks like we are actually going to learn the backstory. Though I thought that was the Vulture's Wings next to Doc Oct's arms. I do worry that if the movies go on long enough Spider-Man is going to end up very outnumbered by villains. Hopefully Sony has the rights to other heroes that could fit into the ASM world, otherwise he will be in big trouble if the movies go on long enough for the Sinister Six to form. Does anyone know exactly what rights they have?

Heroica RPG- Quest #91: The Sounds of Music
Tanma replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
IC: De'kra looked down as his voice softened, "It has not been good. I-I am glad to be on this quest with you. I don't believe we have ever truly quested together, I am glad we have this chance. Please, if I become troublesome or annoying, please tell me so I may stop. I do not want to ruin this." He flared up Kapura, letting the sword give him some warmth. The sword melted away some of the snow at his feet, though it did little more to the scene. As he clutched the blade trickles of mist flowed off of him, wisps of darkness.- 286 replies

Heroica RPG- Quest #91: The Sounds of Music
Tanma replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: Its been a while, but I think its right. IC: De'kra clutched his sword as he approached, letting its flames heat him up. He looked around, before realizing he did not know what their employer looked like. Maybe he should return to the Hall, try to see if he missed any information-no, that would just stall the inevitable. And if he was going to die, at least he could do something useful. As others gathered he asked, "Um, does anyone know what our employer looks like?"- 286 replies

I'm going to be on a bus with no wifi for the next two hours, so it may be some time before I can post on Quest 91. Sorry for the wait.
-
IC: De'kra nodded, "Hope. I will look for her if I am able. Do you know what she looks like? Might there be those no would know her legend? I-" De'kra notices that his name has been chosen. More than that, he notices Hybros will be going as well. "It ends as it begins. I...if nothing of me survives Arthur, I would like to thank you for being my friend. You have helped me through my darker times, and made this time much more survivable. Thank you." He stood up, and shakily walked towards the quest.
-
OOC: Really meta origin below. This was conceived from the beginning, and is the reason I can't just ignore Bionicle with him. IC: De'kra sighed, "Imagine...idea. A story that someone makes up. And this story, many people hear about it. They like it, and they contribute to it. The story grows, it is told to children, and they remember and tell that story. And gradually this belief, all these minds working together, make it real. Sometimes I wonder if this is where the gods of Olegaia come from." He looked down, "I am story, the story I told you. All those heroes, those villains, the planets and islands, they are all part of me. I am just idea, one that people added to over many years. Most of my family last only year or two, I lasted ten. But people...they don't really know my story any more. Many still know it and care, but I fade more every day. My story no longer well known, soon I will be forgotten, and cease to exist. I already spawned some other stories, they still remain in memory. But maybe-maybe if you know my story and pass it down, one day I will come back. I probably would be different, maybe not all my people will return, but I might come back. Does this make sense?"
-
IC: De'kra shock his head, "Not that void. It is just what I call it. Better name might be...final resting place? It's...I'm not sure if you have word for it. But...I not sure Byblos would accept it. I can not really prove any of it happened, and from what I can tell that would be too speculative. I could pass it off as a legend of my home, but I not sure if he would accept it without word from others of my kind. No offense to him, but I am not as common a visiter any more to the library as you. I feel like you have a better chance of passing it off as myth at least."
-
IC: De'kra looked away, "I...I'm dying. No, not it. I'm already dead. I was dead long before I joined Heroica, before I came to Olegaia. I'm just...fading now. Its like, concept of afterlife exists here right? This...this was kind of mine. Well no I-I tried to escape. That Void I fear, that is where I was supposed to be. Where I was supposed to be while I faded, until I was nothing, not even a memory. I tried to escape the Void, find a way to save me, save everyone. I ended up in Olegaia. But I forgot, and I failed. All I got was little bit of time free, even now I am fading into nothing. I...I just wanted someone to know my story before I am nothing." "I am stalling it," De'kra stated, "Kapura, the sword I named for the Ta-Matoran, I'm using it to keep fading at bay. I might be able to go on one more quest, I would like to go with you. But please, write down what you can of my tale, and try to get it published. It can be fiction, legend, whatever will accepted. Just let the story be remembered, so that others may one day add to it." He muttered, "Arthur do...do you want to know what I am?"
-
IC: De'kra followed Arthur into the hall, spotting Nerwen as he walked in. He lingered his gaze after her, but she was already in a hurry. He sighed, he really needed her wisdom now. "Arthur," he asked, "I...did you read the message I sent yo?. It's-it probably should have been worded better. But, do you have any questions about it? I...I hope that maybe if I last long enough, if I can impress the Je Pei, maybe they can help. But...I probably don't have the time."
-
Is this less disruptive? If not I will try a different strategy.

OOC: Sorry, missed your post

Yeah, you have me there, they deserve a proper intro. I'm just worried that Jan won't be in Antman, or that she will have a minor role. Not just because it isn't called Antman and Wasp, but also because no one seems to know which Antman the movie will be about. Sometimes it's Hank, sometimes it's Scott, sometimes it's both with Hank being a scientist in the sixties and Scott being in the present day. And don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Scott, especially if it gets Cassie into the MCU. (Though I only know her from Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes) But I would rather have Jan.
-
I disagree that you need Ant-Man to have Wasp. It kind of dimishes her role. For one thing, in the Ultimate Universe Wasp was born with her powers, and Ant-Man engineered his shrinking and growing abilities from her genetics. (She is a mutant in that universe) They couldn't make her a mutant like that in the MCU of course, but there is precedent.

I'm not sure, I looked it up but details about who has what are always difficult. It comes up frequently on blogs I follow, so I just assumed everyone else had better access than me. However, give Quicksilver actually has ties to the Inhumans (he married one and had a daughter) it is possible. Has it been mentioned yet that supposedly a Black Panther movie has been confirmed?
-
Yeah, its kind of like that. The way I picture it, De'kra dies, but the artifact that Heroica has that resurrects heroes will bring a shell of him back. Sorry I lost my temper, I just tend to end up associating myself with my characters. That is one reason De'kra started out amnesic, so I could try to distance myself from him and not take things too personally. It failed obviously, but that is probably because of his Bionicle links than the tactic.
-
Fandom is an okay term. I see what you mean, but it couldn't work because of who he is. His identity makes it impossible to be subtle, as will be obvious soon. I plan on revealing it before I lobotomize him. In hindsight I can understand using it subtly like having him believe in the three virtues or calling close allies brother, like I did originally. But when I designed him I made it all but impossible to remain subtle, and I've come to far to stop it now. I'm stuck, either I restart and lose everything, keep it up and stress everyone, or lobotomize him and make his Bionicle traits subtle again. If you have another idea feel free, but I don't feel like I have many options. So I am going with the way that doesn't stress anyone but me, but lets me keep his relationship with Arthur.
-
Look, when I mentioned lobotomizing De'kra, that is the method I will kill him. I don't want to go into it, but when he dies a shell will be left behind. The shell will remember Arthur, Guts, all the relationships, all of that. Otherwise I would not have signed up for a new quest. So I am doing what everyone but me wants, and getting rid of the Bionicle. Just...Bionicle was the first story I ever really followed, even before I read Redwall. And I don't mean a story like a children's book, I mean an epic. With a large cast of characters, with heroes and villains, with a rich mythology, it was the first adventure I really read. And with the sets, it gave me a way to become part of that world, to interact with its people. Gave me a sense of being part of something greater. And the first stories I ever wrote were about Bionicle. They were crap, utter crap, but it was the first time I wrote, the first time I created. Its special to me, and I know not everyone has to feel the same way, but Bionicle has always been safe. I'm twenty now, Bionicle was literally there for half of my life. And looking back there are some issues with it I can see now, but it still is my home. Does that make sense?
-
That isn't it. Look, Bionicle has been a part of De'kra from the beginning. It was subtle at first, but it was always there. It was present since I first came up with his idea, and given the nature of his identity I cannot separate the two without major lobotomizing. What you are asking me to do is not change parts of him, but to change everything about him. And you haven't exactly been cooperating either.
-
[sarcasm]Yes, I totally see I misread the situation earlier.[/sarcasm] Look, I am trying to wrap up De'kra's story so I that I can kill him off like you all want so you don't have to deal with him ever again. I heard you all really clear, I get it. But since you want me to kill him, at least let me sign him off. Then you never have to deal with Bionicle again. Deal?
