I remember that one time De'kra tried to open a lock.
-
IC: De'kra answered, "I should have thought more about the poor, you are right. I guess I am still trying to get hang of what to do and gold, back home we not have money until fairly recently. You just ask for services and goods and you get it. At time I had not considered that dragon would have gold elsewhere, that was I mistake. Next time I will remember."
-
OOC: I only had one more thing planned IC: De'kra thought to himself for a time, recalling over "heroes" he had encountered. How that had ended. Finally he clicked, "Cleric, I apologize for lashing out, pain I people suffer when our god...it puts bad taste in my mouth about gods. Honestly you haven't been as hostile as others, and you have debated with me more fairly than others have. And I must admit you skilled in leadership. I prefer not to end this quest on a bad note, especially since it work out so well."
-
IC: De'kra clicks, "Sounds nice, I not think I have ever taste tea before."
-
OOC: I am good with moving the quest ahead. IC: De'kra turned to Mizuki, "I not sure I say this yet, but thank you for sharing your gold and us."
-
JimButcher, Flipz, I sent both of you replies.
-
IC: De'kra shrugs as his eyes turned cyan, "I see gods fall before my eyes and others take their place. I have seen over 100,000 years of people's memories, but they were me people's memories. And something I relearn daily is that Uland is not my home, so maybe your gods work different. I get that I will probably never know all about Uland, or me home. but I still take in new information. I learn, and accept new things. If you reject mutations as you call them because they are different, then you are young. Because the young refuse anything but what they know, they refuse to learn and let go of childish things. Like childish belief that their parents are perfect. Even if those metaphorical "parents" are gods."

Agreed, and its not like all of them were designed for war, some of them were built just to rescue people or explore. They could have been used without being a crutch. And I wanted Iron-Man as Gemini to encounter the Guardians of the Galaxy, or to bring the fight to Thanos in Avengers 2. Was that so wrong?
-
And yeah, I did not like the ending o that last battle. A part of me hopes that Gemini somehow survived. Another part of me wonders why Stark would feel safer in suits packed with explosives.
-
Agreed, I'm guessing they are sticking with Iron Patriot as well. Hopefully in Avengers 2, if he shows up, Rhodey can actually use his armor without it getting hijacked or just being barely used. The world of MCU had only seven, now six superheroes as of Iron-Man 3, (unless Spider-Man is in a shared universe, in which case they had eight and now seven) with that scope they need everyone at their best.
-
I think Rhodey's throughts about the suit might have come out in his current password.

OOC: He asked a question last post. Also, is the feather one use or many? IC: The echo nodded, "I will try to save some gold for Retraga when I return, please give her I apologies." As De'kra spoke he caught sight of a quick splash of movement, lurking by the rocks. It was a relatively small shape, maybe about De'kra's height. The moving creature was dull in color, a tan hue all but blending in with the mountainside. The echo strained his eyes a little, but by then the shape had already gone. OOC: just in case.

IC: De'kra's eyes were a bright green as he said, "I am glad we could help. I am honor to be given chance to fly like you. Even if I can not find wings I think I will visit, if that okay. It always good to see you Denerii and Flavius. May your unity and your duty grant you most noble destiny. By way, you have an idea where that parasite came from? I will try to find out more in Heroica library either way." OOC: I would guess the witch shop in Eubric will carry wings, and we can come here withrp in the training room/the hall.

IC: De'kra sighed, "Because when you are master of all, you forget to be careful. You make mistakes. You forget to watch your people, instead you build new lands and explore other realms. You let your praises get so high, that your servants feel neglect and jealousy. And over time those feelings drive them to evil, all while master forgets his people, forgets to take care of them. People die, people suffer. Communities die, unity is destroy. And god of nothing is not god." "Then former servants of master," De'kra continued, "They study. They learn while master forgets. They might even have great power on their own, and should they be as long lived as...they will have eternity to plan. And then one day they strike you down, and take your power for your own. It almost happen to Zoot recently, from what another hero told I. "As for what could exist outside of gods and goddesses," De'kra concluded in a series of low chirps, "I people had theory. Well not theory, we saw it. We knew it. We god was made by older entities, and he made servant-scientists who made new life. And some of life he made changed on its own, errors and glitches in their bodies and reproduction causing changes and new traits. One of I people had abnormality in his brain that ket him see futures, another could teleport. And that wasn't inherent in our people, and ...we god was too neglectful to give those abilities to them. They developed it on their own. That is what make gods true creators, they can make systems that can grow without them."
-
IC: De'kra shakes his head, "I will leave I share of gold and dragon. Dragon victim here, and even if it not need gold it might hold sentimental value."
-
IC: De'kra sighed and said, "A creator, someone who not only can create worlds and races, but is world. Someone is present in everything, and able to shape world and other worlds and thought. Someone who does not age, and is forever young. Someone who can be infinitely huge, and microscopic at same time. Someone who is able to completely change nature of people at whim. Someone who protects his people, and gives his people sanctuary from the outside darkness. I am sorry for day your dreams break, they all do." OOC: Bionicle fans might understand where this is coming from.
-
iC: De'kra shook his head, "You share gold you got and us, you can have cannon for free. But if you fel like it best to trade, I will accept bow. But not dagger, I daggers work good already.
-
IC: De'kra sighed, "Age mean little. I know people over 100,000 years old who still act immature. And you young. You still believe your god is invincible and perfect. No one is invincible or perfect, no matter how powerful. And sometimes raw power of god makes them far weaker than mortals who follow them. They grow too confident, they make mistakes. They forget their people, and leave them to study universe. And when their people suffer, so do they. It dark truth, but it there. All gods are flawed, and all can fall."
-
IC: De'kra looked away. Finally he said, "I think I understand now. I am sorry for you cleric, you are still young."

Just saw Iron Man 3, my only complaint is that Gemini wasn't really featured. And is probably dead. My precious precious sub-orbital suit, I will never forget you Mark 39. On the matter of the twins, I really hope that is wrong. One, because I want Wasp first. I can forgive them for not having Wasp in the first Avengers movie, but I need her by 2016 or heads will roll. She is a founding Avenger, and the best character in A: EMH. (the series that got me interested in comics) She is one of Marvel's oldest characters, and frankly deserves to be there. The twins also have their whole origins tied to the X-Men, Magneto, and mutants, none of which can exist in the MCU. And not merely because of the whole rights thing, but because it doesn't fit in. People would have assumed the Hulk and Thor were mutants for instance. There won't have been a mystery. Mutants would probably have been recruited by SHIELD and Loki, why waste the resource? It just doesn't seem compatible now. Speaking of Wasp, I heard a rumor that the Ant-Man movie will be split between two time periods, one in the present day with Lang, and one in the sixties with Pym. Has anyone else heard of that rumor?
-
IC: De'kra clicks, "I agree, we already got lot of treasure, we not need more. By the way Mizuki, I have explosive hand cannon, do you want it? It have WP of 8, and double against rock enemies. I would have offer it earlier, but I forgot about it. Also, here is your dagger back." OOC: Flipz mentioned this relatively recently in the discussion topic. I removed it from my inventory list some time ago in case anyone bought it, but no one did.
-
IC: De'kra clicks, "Should someone try to heal Retraga? Or should I try to use Phoenix Essence or something?"
-
Ah, okay, I thought it would be listed at the bottom of the post.
-
Um, is the dragon okay?
-
IC: De'kra nods, and with Mizuki's Dagger attacks the Rotten Core from the front row. He did not like admitting it, but this cleric seemed to be a competent leader. He could be great, but only if he was not so xenophobic.
