IMO, there’s four tiers of superhero killing rules. 1) Never kills. This group includes Batman (except in the movies) and Daredevil. They’re all ridiculously anti-kill with Batman being the worst offender of this lot (Joker wouldn’t survive five minutes with any other superhero). 2) Only kills as a last resort. This group includes Superman, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, and Flash. They’ve all killed, (or attempted to kill in Spider-Man’s case), but it’s incredibly rare that they do and it’s always a big deal. 3) Kills, but tries to keep the number of casualties down. Most superheroes fall in this category. They kill pretty regularly but try to avoid killing without reason. 4) Probably a psychopath. This group includes Punisher, Hulk, and Wolverine. These guys have filled entire graveyards. I completely agree on Batfleck, btw. It’s pretty clear him killing is wrong (even if Zack Snyder and his biggest fans disagree) and his arc is about finding redemption and becoming a better man, which makes it much more acceptable than Keaton and Kilmer who just casually murder their enemies.

Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

It’s ideas like this that make me thankful Lego doesn’t listen to their fans. -
The 50/50 split isn’t accurate. For one, studios take a higher cut of the box office during the opening weeks (sometimes as high as 90%) and then during the ending of the run, it levels out closer to 50/50, but only domestically. Internationally, theaters take a heavier cut than 50%, with theaters in China taking the highest cut. So, the 50/50 split isn’t accurate. And for a domestic heavy and opening weekend heavy film like Superman, the film doesn’t need as much to break even. Which is why articles like this https://www.forbes.com/sites/timlammers/2025/10/06/james-gunns-superman-ends-its-theatrical-run-how-much-did-it-make/, where the author (who specialized in interviewing celebrities, not analyzing box office) just applies the 50/50 split rule aren’t accurate, even if it does come from a reliable site like Forbes. I’d put far more faith in an articles like this: https://variety.com/2025/film/news/warner-bros-box-office-historic-streak-conjuring-last-rites-1236510864/, where the author actually covers box office earnings for a living and cites a company that analyzes box office earnings professionally, instead of just applying an arbitrary rule. So, per actual box office analysts, the film did turn a profit.

I can’t think of a more apt description for this set than a tombstone for the theme. Ironic that it’s also the celebration of the 20th (and final) anniversary. -

I think you’re the only one getting the logo at all. -

This is what I’d expect, tbh. Obviously Lego isn’t going to make a minfigure scaled set that fully captures Minas Tirith. That would be far too expensive and they wouldn’t sell as many. But I also can’t see them just focusing on the Citadel. The shape of the overall city is too iconic and the three big scenes that take place at the Citadel are Faramir premature cremation, Denethor jumping, and Aragorn being crowned. Most of the big action scenes which people remember take place outside the city. Nor could they do a micro scale version. That’s not going to sell as well because it wouldn’t mesh with the last three sets. A downscaled lower section and disproportionately larger top is the best option, assuming they can actually pull it off. -

I doubt even all these would be enough to convince anyone to buy a set based on The Hobbit trilogy. -

Helm’s Deep or Orthanc. Aside from Moria, those are the only locations left that the general public would recognize and maybe buy sets for. And we just got a Balarog bookend set, so they’re not going to cannibalize the sales for that. -

Yeah, I’d assume something like this with more detailing and maybe larger, similar to what we got for Barad-Dur. The shape of the whole city is too iconic for Lego to pass up on and I imagine more people will be disappointed if Lego fails to capture that than they will be if it’s not 100% minifgure scaled. -

Minecraftgoat said there were four sets that might be DC in the summer. I assume these are those sets. So I doubt there’s anything else. We’ve typically gotten at least one Batman D2C set per year, but we’ve also seen the Superheroes cut back pretty heavily on the number of D2C sets last year, so I don’t think there’s any guarantees. Lego designers have teased that the heads in Arkham and Two Face’s new hairpiece were made for later use. But who knows if that’s just wishful thinking or a genuine tease. -

Only 9 minifigures isn’t all that surprising. That’s been the standard number for the last two LotR sets. Rivendell was the exception since it was the first and likely had a bigger minifigure budget. There also doesn’t seem to be any reuses of minifigures from a prior set (unless they don’t go with armored Pippin), unlike Barad-Dur and The Shire, which is nice. -

Yeah, I’m not holding out much hope for the idea. I’m just saying it would be my personal pick for the next Marvel CMF (an idea that honestly isn’t likely to happen given no other theme has gotten more than 3 CMF series) But, in defense of an X-Men ‘97 CMF, I don’t think anyone would have expected the show to get a modular building either if it hadn’t been leaked over a year in advance. It’s also one of the few MCU shows to get renewed for a third season. The X-Men being featured in Doomsday and Secret Wars will also probably help boost viewership numbers for the show. And we already know the next MCU saga will revolve around the X-Men, meaning Marvel will be looking to push the characters. I wouldn’t rule it out completely. I also wouldn’t expect any less than half of the CMF to be taken up by the more popular characters we’ve already gotten like Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, and Magneto. So even if we got a CMF, there’d be plenty of characters still missing. -

A D2C Batcave in the same style of Rivendell, would be a great way to celebrate 20 years of the theme. We just got new versions of Ivy, Riddler, Catwoman, and Mr Freeze last year. Joker, similarly, already has a version on the shelves. Bane, Killer Croc, and Penguin just need new torsos. Harley and Scarcrow would need new torsos and legs. Throw in new minifigures for Clayface, Two Face, Nightwing, and Batgirl. Maybe even new characters like Spoiler, Orphan, Hush, and Mad Hatter. Obviously purist versions of Bruce and Alfred and existing minifigures of Batman, Robin, Batgirl, and Batwing. That’d be a fantastic minifigure lineup, and I don’t think it’d be outside the realm of possibility, especially for what would essentially be DC’s Avengers Tower. I honestly doubt we could get this lucky when the state of the theme is three Batmobiles, one logo, and five different Batman minifigures. But, the again, the designers did tease the Two-Face hair mold and new heads in Arkham weren’t one-offs. It does make me wonder if there are plans for the 20th anniversary of Batman beyond what we’ve already seen, Batcave or otherwise. -

X-Men ‘97 based. Out of the season 1 team roster, we only got 10/16 members. And, Magneto aside, we got none of the villains. Already, we know they’re introducing at least 2 (5?) new members to the team and 5 new villains, and that’s just what we know for season 2. By the time the next CMF could come out, we’ll be on season 3. There’s so much that could be covered and Lego just isn’t even trying. -

Stickers in modular buildings are usually just Easter eggs, nothing more. A D2C isn’t a guarantee either.
