  1. I've contacted @Ayrlego and @evancelt. Ayrlego is going to adjust the paperwork. The large factory will be placed in Wullham, but licensed by @Bricksbypidy. I'm using Bricklink Stud.io for renders. I lighten the shadows with photoshop and add a background. The flag (and some other parts) are custom parts, made with PartsDesigner. I have no idea what this means, but I take it as a compliment! I used trans glass, which creates this automatically with rendering, actually. I eat pirates for breakfast!
  2. I take this as a compliment! Thanks!
  3. After the completion of his first design assignment (Queenston Primary School), Peter Nash (architect) was overwhelmed with congratulations and positive messages. "What a warm welcome to the New World!", he thought. At the opening party he got into a conversation with the mayor of Wullham, @evancelt. Mayor Major Sir Jonathan Brickleton invited him to come to Wullham. So he did... A few days later, Peter left for Wullham with an old friend, Doug MacIver ("He is a little bit weird, he is wearing a skirt..."] After arriving on the island, Peter was surprised by the landscape. It looked completely different here than in Queenston. The landscape was barren and rougher; it was hilly and there were many sheep. Above all, the temperature was a lot lower and the wind was blowing very hard. It reminded them of where Doug came from. A while later, while taking a walk on the island with Doug, Doug had a great idea. "This island is a great location to start a whiskey distillery!" he said. "Rum is sewage for pirates, people of our stature drink whisky!" Peter agreed and a few days later he started making the first sketches. He designed a main building (distillery) and a first storagehouse. The mayor checked the drawings carefully and approved the construction of the distillery. So construction could begin! See the final result here! --- Licensed in Wullham as a large factory, by @Bricksbypidy. Dimensions: 98 x 130 studs Total parts: ~13,600
  4. Thanks @Ayrlego, I will edit my post to just task 14 - 1. I've heard it makes me a lot of money.
  5. Nice little build! Love the tree technique with the brackets.
  6. Could you explain this a bit more, please? I can't find this 'rule'... How much DB's would I make with this?
  7. 14. Bastion of the East - Task 1 - Primary School Queenston Will be licensed directly to Queenston by @Justsomebrix to get 2x the licensing fee of the purchase of this build.
  8. Hi mayor @Justsomebrix, I would like to license the school as you suggest. Hereby my permission to place this, as mayor, in Queenston and place the proceeds in the Queenston's coffers. I have registered the build as a freebuild using the corresponding form. I would like to register the property for the GoC - task! I will post a link to the appropriate GoC-thread. Is that enough? Another question about earning money. Do I have to keep track of how much money I've earned, by myself? I already have a 1) first sigfig post (with small moc around it) - 2) freebuild education Queenston - 3) task 14 GoC (large education building)...
  9. Wow, special to get so many positive reactions. I am impressed by this warm welcome! Hopefully I can surprise you again next time! Thank you all! -- Is it possible to license this building? If so, how can I do that?
  10. Peter Nash (architect) just arrived at Queenston. After a stormy journey by sea he sets foot on land. He breathed the salty sea air and and began his exploration of the city. "This is a great place to stay!" he thought. The city was colorful and lively. There was plenty to see. But after a while he was missing something. There was no place for the youngest inhabitants of the city; he had not yet been able to discover a primary school! "I need to change this!", he thought. After a pleasant conversation with the mayor, he started making his first sketches. It was quite difficult to adapt to this unfamiliar architectural style. He took a good look at the existing buildings in the city to finish his final own design. The barracks (by @Ayrlego) in particular were his source of inspiration. "I should thank him for this source of inspiration", he thought. After a few months the construction was completed and Peter decided to take a look at the final result. "Wow, this is even better than i expected", he thought. "Nice to see all those happy children playing!" Peter looked around and saw some children building a sandcastle...and a redcoat who 'fought' a pirate... ...some children played football, and two other guys played 'hoops' with old metal barrel hoops by rolling them along the ground like a wheel with a stick. "Magnificent!" ...and when he looked up at the indoor balcony he knew "it was right". There stood the headmistress enjoying her view. So with a joyful heart of finishing his first task he continued on his way to new challenges. "Maybe I should put my OWN signature on the next one a bit more", he thought. --- Dimensions: 82 x 66 studs Total parts: ~7,700
  11. I think its more frontier style, but I havent figured out what kind of architecture fits to the different regions in the world. The architecture of the school is yellow and white walls, terracotta roof and also some wood elements. Look and feel is based on a earlier design from @Ayrlego (the barracks). [EDIT:] It's placed in Queenston, Arlintina. How can I see if there's space somewhere? Placing a (free build) MOC is free? And last question... If I place the MOC, should I make a new topic for it? Or just post in is this topic? (Or both - and link it...)?
  12. I've build a digital version of this task, a primary school. But I'm new here (haven't post a MOC, besides my sigfig-post), so I'm not sure if I'm able to post this one. I'm not fully understand the EGS rules yet... Are there any restrictions for me to finish this task (in relation to the EGS system)? Size: 82 x 66 studs.
  13. Thanks guys, I changed GB to Corrington in my storyline. And maybe an 'architect' isn't the most creative profession to choose. But it also fits (a bit) my personal life. :)
  14. Hi all, I want to introduce you to a new guy in the New World! His name is Peter Nash, a well-known architect from Corrington. He is very experienced with designing real estate. He learned a lot from earlier times, like how castles has been build, etc. But at the moment he experienced no challenge anymore, so he decided to leave the country to go to the New World. And.. he's not alone! He took his wife en children with him. Maybe, once, they can also contribute building up the new world!
