Heroica RPG- Quest #133: A Walk Through The Parlor
Endgame replied to Asphalt's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Aristune, the HELL do you think you're doin'!" Terry reaches out, and his hand scuffs the bottom of Aristune's boot as he tosses him through the portal. Terry looks solemnly at it, before drawing the only conclusion a farmboy ike him could. "Well. He's dead now." Not sure whether to mourn the lost of an ally or breath a sigh of relief that the authoritive man was gone, perhaps happier, Terry turns to the men. "Your Caliph sent us into the Parlor after you folks went missing, and we've had some, uh, misadventures." -
"Maybe we should just have that Vorpal dragon fellow come over here and conquer us, maybe we'd have a leader then." I quip. "These are pretty dismal times, you got that right..."
-
"I don't fully disagree with you. I'm just saying you need to produce a solution beyond "offing Patricia", because putting the Wolfgang in charge is a death sentence to virtually everyone."
-
"They're trying to tear down the Hovels Wall because they're grooming the people in there to be their soldiers. I have no sympathy for them."
-
"Sure, Patricia is the one who dealt the killing blow. But I'm the one who designed a bow specifically for slaughtering werewolves, pumped her full of arrows until she was on the ground in submission. Maybe she should have gotten a trial. But you know how it would've ended. Who do you propose takes over the watch? You have to have a solution in mind before tearing down the old order. Someone from the Syndicate? That Lillith woman, or maybe someone from Heroica?"
-
"I fail to see what the issue with her is."
-
"I see." I push a hundred gold towards Karie. "I have more than I'll ever be able to spend. You should have it - you have a child to raise now. And... Masson IS an employee of the Town Watch, yeah, even if he's on leave? The Syndicate is part of the Watch, if memory serves... Wouldn't offing Patricia just make him lose his job?"
-
I smile. "That's great! You have a full plate now, huh - house, job, husband, daughter. You're not going on maternity leave or anything like that, to spend time with her? And hey, could've been worse. Could've been twins."
-
"You forget I'm the son of one of the finest Necromancers to ever live. Probably runs in the blood."
-
"Heroica having to kill psychos. What else is new." "I'll come clean here - I haven't done any raising the dead or communicating with ghosts since I first got the training. Part of me worries it's not going to be pleasant for an undead to control other undead, but Althior is in one piece, so..." I cough. "Y'know, another hero said she saw you pregnant. Did she have you mixed up with someone else? You're very clearly not..."
-
"That's not necromancy - that's just being a serial killer. Kaire... I knowyou're aWitch right now. Ever contemplated Necromancy?"
-
"So you're familiar with Makepeace. I wonder if she realized you need dead people to fill a Necropolis? Did she really intend to kill everyone? Ugh... And, as for Arthur... I wouldn't worry too much. Unless that dragon on his shoulder gets some nasty ideas and some nasty powers, I don't think we'll have anything to worry about."
-
"Heh, wasn't aware it was a contest. I just want to see how an undead city would hold up. Part of me hopes we walk in and its just like any other city, but something tells met they're going to have their own, ah, culture."
-
"That's not a very hard bar to surpass - no offense meant, Finnegan. But yes, it feels good to be back in action, and with some new garbs. I'm a Necromancer now. You thinking about Fellcreste?" "Yeah. Been... Ten months now or so, right? Nine? I spent most of it in bedrest, admittedly. Going to doctors, mustering my strength.... That type of thing. Finally gathered up the nerve to delve into necromancy."
-
I stand up at the sight of a familiar redhead, and walk up to her. "Still recognize your grandfather?" I chuckle, embracing Karie in a quick hug. "I think Arthur has more or less retired from the heroing business - you might have a tough time tracking him down. But I'm sure he's in Eubric somewhere, it's a small place. What have you been up to lately?"

"Keliim, you're stretching my trust pretty thin here..." But the docile Terry does what he's told, and slots in the keys as instructed, incapable of resisting commands from authority. -

"...I just gotta asktwo more things. Why so secretive about it? Why not come clean and say that Calamity and I needed to open this portal, send ya home? I know I woulda. calamity likes demons and whatnot, so I'm sure she'd be overjoyed. And you said your domain was creepy craw- insects, ahem. Insects. So was it you that made the Bore Beetles try to kill us?" -
One is a trade, another is both thematically and mechanically a living creature/companion. I know I said less than a hour ago game mechanics don't need to be logical, but when the class is designed to have a dragon serve alongside the Dragoon, it gets a little weird, moreso than a Necromancer/Evoker summon.
-
Odd proposal, but here we go: Dragoons all start with a dragon egg, and it matures as it goes on quests with the Dragoon. Level is still equal to a Draggon's level, but it only really matures as its used. Also, on another note, I don't know what Smaragdea is doing with those eggs, because those things grow fast.
-
And some just roar really really really loudly. I'll say I'm in support for being able to venomize dragons.
-
Rules page say that items can be used on the dragon, so I'd say you can apply the poison effect to it. Once again, I'm in the camp that logic shouldn't neccasarily dictate all game rules (e.g. the necromancer debate.) Maybe you just slather it on their teeth, and it gets transmitted to their breath via the saliva or something?

Erdathcath's last name gave me more toruble than her first. :tongue Also, Throlar's last name was a nightmare for me to remember.

"Food and water? You're not trying to kill us, you're trying to herd us towards some kinda... sustenance? Like, what are you planning?" -
I remember a time I confused Althior and Atramor, and at one point asked myself, "why doesn't Althior have his chicken?" Keep in mind this was back when Taking Down the Jolly Roger was in progress.

"Thank you." "Though I doubt it is Vorpalis, I hope that, should you come to moone, you continue your streak of victories. I did not come to be dissapointed." With that, King Faust leaves the hall.
