  1. Wanna be the only Dragoon to start with a baby aerial Progg? I can see it working... besides aesthetic they'd also design the personality, right?
  2. I thought Ellaria and Boomingham were on decent terms. Also: Guts and Nerwen as veterans. Yes.
  3. Plot tiwst: Docken was carved out of rock. Sorrow/Vitus never knew his biological parents for more then a couple of months (and in fact is starting to have trouble rembering his real name) and the fate of his necrofather is... dubious.
  4. I draw my arrow, remaining calm in the face of the group of Wolfgang goons. "Okay, Nagure, taking down these jokers should be easy enough. We have three actions and I take 1 damage from any of these goon's free hits - you take 0. The main 3 we'll be targetting can hardly even harm us - their specils don't harm us, and our SP will deflect their blows. One good assassination and we sweep these fools right off their feet." I turn away from the yeti and draw an arrow stepping back and standing in front of the door. I taunt the wolfgang as I prepare for the coming skirmish: "The ratgang arrives." Suggusted course of actions: Sorrow attacks Burlesque (back) (takes Cedric's free hit) Nagure attacks Ajax (front) (takes Arrowic's free hit) Sorrow attacks Bowen (back) Fixed the battle order a bit. Standing on the steps to project my voice, I shout: "Arthur, we have company!"
  5. Hey, Promethues "read a piece of paper"ed himself to death.
  6. Speaking of Z-mail, Sorrow still hasn't heard back from his father... I may have to roll a die soon and decide the ultimate fate of the message.
  7. The only thing that is keeping me atleast partially liking cats is that my dog has an appetite for LEGO. Although I've worked on 3? 4? RP sessions with Flipz, I gotta agree with this. Marks down the final period and is suddenly just fatally impaled by Violetta - would really kick the threat of the Wolfgang up a notch. ...But this is an RPG, where people pour hours into their character and would prefer to not have them murdered. I'm actually consdering doing what Kadabra did for Arasmyth.
  8. Ah, sorry - was speaking as a general trend, not just for Boomingham. Reading Sandy quests is pretty much a priority at this point. How ironic would it be if Patricia's job class was Infiltrator? On the subject of the houses, though, I kind of wish the other parties got to meet some. Maybe the Shadeaux went to the backdoor because they wanted to keep out of the light, or the Hinckwells go check to see how the food is coming along/deliver compliments to the chef?
  9. Probably for the better, actually. With all of these inter-house relationships between particular people (Like the marriage going on, for example) viewing the house as a single entity is going to cause you to gloss over a lot of wonderful plot.
  10. "Come on back, Arthur!" I holler dow the alleyway, cupping my hand over my mouth so it'd reach the sorceror. "Chasing that cat down isn't worth it. - it reeks of a trap."
  11. Pfft, you guys can mingle with your aristocrats. We have kitties.
  12. Am I the only dog person in Heroica? Still might be an assassin sent by her.
  13. Flipz, why are you so enamored by the kitty? If it turns out to be Violetta, you're going to wish I shot it.
  14. I sigh and hand Arthur a smokebomb. "Going to chase down the cat, I take it? Make sure curiosity doesn't kill you, Arthur. Holler if you need us." I down a Mead, Nostrum, and Smelling Salts.
  15. Prefers the term "corporeally challenged."

    1. Dannylonglegs

I'm sure you do ghosty, I'm sure you do.

To be fair, he was dead for 2,200 years before you guys met him.

    3. Dannylonglegs

      Dannylonglegs

      To be fair... Yeah

  16. "I wanted to shoot the thing..." I mumble.
  17. With the battle against the Spirit of the Night done, I gulp down a Mead, Nostrum, and Smelling Salts. I instinctively reach for my bow as I see the cat nuzzle Arthur's leg. "Should curiosity kill the cat, gentlemen?"
  18. You can be alchemy buddies with Punii! He'll give you a referral.
  19. Okay, here is the rest of my analysis... if anything comes up (or if there is anything else I want to comment on down the line) I'll put it up. Builds: Progg: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?e69444k83e3stte Artillery Progg: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?40ropudzmm2yos7 Progg Spawner: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?so72nspo3ggoove Progg Juggernaut: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?3wmph9iyc06h2lu Rhodus: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?6a4ad7r006mc558 Aquos: To be added! I need to sift through my files and try to locate it... Emperor Eidolon: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jrdab1r1eouh9lk The Regret: http://www.mediafire.com/?4g28d8m9c3neb6x Perfect Regret: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ile5dre8j7ak532 The Mythrogg: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?yttsiio3n3ou33j I can't check right now, but some may have some accompanying scenery... cutting it out shouldn't be too hard as long as you use LDD's group delete function. Puzzle Analysis: Beehive Puzzle Made this one to serve as a minor roadblock - requires situational thinking/looking at the pictures. I really dislike bees. Fountain Puzzle: Same deal as the beehive, except you had to take into account your NPC's traits. Also very minor. Murkwood Trial: I gave you rules and allowed to work within them! Seeing your more innovative solutions were fun - B&P seems to have a knack for that. Grotto (PM) Puzzles: You'll see these soon. More situational thinking - I like it to break up the flow of the quests and really pay attention to your surroundings. Grotto Jailbreak: I gave you a list of parts and B&P devised a cool contraption using them. Once again, to B&P. Bomb Defusal: Rush Hour has always been one of my favorites... though I gotta say Fugazi, you slaughtered this one! Mystrinitri Forest: Being someone who is also a gamer, the "mysterious maze" setting in games has always proved one of my favorite places. I think it made the transition very well into the Heroica realm, and contained a pretty mindbending little realm. Those who have also played the Paper Mario games (Can you tell I love those yet?) probably noticed I took a few cues from it. Seeing all of you pitch in to puzzle it out and attune your way of thinking to the forest's logic was awesome to see. Probably one of my favorite areas because of that! Battle Analysis: Town Hall Battle: Quick and easy introduction to what you can expect. Rally Battle: Almost a demo of the Manor battle, really - a dwarf concept of the Continuous Battle. I wanted to encourage snarking with NPCs by allowing you to lure The Bleeding out of hiding early, so RP played off here. Rhodus Battle: This one was fun - I got to take my first boss battle and up the ante. I did get a bit too mean near the end, though... kudos for spotting my bold period. Oozeling Battle (PM): Oozelings were kinda a one-off thing, but I'd like to show them off more. This was meant to demo The Regret's soul shenanigans in the first phase of the final battle. Medbay Battle: Straight up battle, no minion joining nonsense! Galen meets his love interest here, making it so much more interesting... Never saw that one coming. Got to show off some specialized Proggs here. Ballroom Battle: Medbay battle cranked up even more. The Wound was interesting to RP for, especially with Sylph being heartless and taunting him on his abuse... normally, the roles are reversed, with the taunter being the villain. Sylph's dark side begins to shine here, and only grows more and more apparent as time goes on. Aquos: RP and battle were really well intertwined here, thanks to you guys. The tentacle shuffling mechanic was tough on the QM end, but I think it paid off. All the RPIng I saw from everybody, before and after the battle, was a real treat. I'm glad Lycan revealed his real name after this one -it was well timed. Manor Battle: NEVER AGAIN. Eidolon Battle: A bloody fight to the death! The freefall twist was one of my favorites. The True Final Battle (VS Regret): Essentially a combination of the first battle and the oozeling battle... seeing Romulus give in was definitely an interesting choice for your character, TBW, and I can't wait to see it come to fruition. The True Final Battle (VS Perfect Regret): I figured I let you guys beat me up for the grand finale. Some of the RP here was great, and the interaction between Sylph and Regret was top-notch. It was an experiment, but I think it worked well - combined with my favorite boss build, this battle was probably my favorite out of them all in 48. Player Analysis: Sylph/Dannylonglegs: Sylph was a wonderful party leader, and your strategy pulled you guys out of plenty of rough spots. You're one of the best strategists in Heroica, and your RP was as good. Sylph mostly appeared pragmatic beforehand, but some of his darker shades came out during this quest... seeing him slowly unravel into what he truly is was amazing, and I can't wait to see Sylph progress. He shot up to one of my favorite characters to observe in all of Heroica over the course of this quest. I truly wish some of the interactions between the druid and The Regret could be psoted, but alas... You were very active as well, to boot. Galen/Fugazi: And the hero with the most unlikely love interest goes to... Galen was good to see grow throughout the quest, and your RP was great as well. Galen, in my mind, seems to have quite a bit of cowardice bottled up inside of him... but his determination keeps him pushing forward, even when fighting some of his deadliest foes yet. His motivation to find Brianna seems real, and I hope to see his search conclude in one way or another. Thanks for pariticipating and being active over all of these months. Johon/Bricksandparts: I understand that you went through some really tough times, B&P, and you have my sympathies. You came back and continued the quest way earlier then you had to, and for that, I commend you. Real life is always more important then Heroica, so you having to leave for a bit was no problem at all. Being able to incorportate your backstory into 48's story was pretty awesome, and allowed me to develop Rhodus's sadicism even further. You are a very innovative player, and I'm glad I could provide you with oppurtunities to express that. Hopefully I'll be able to deliver a bit more on the parkour next time. Alex/Capt.JohnPaul: You joined a bit late, but it was great having you. You complicated my battle plans a bit but you allowed me to get just a bit craizer with the battles as well. You, like a lot of others, developed a lot throughout this quest. Your descent from Paladin to Black Knight was gradual and believable, two very big plusses. Thanks for participating, and hopefully we'll be able to host eachother again somehwere down the road. Romulus/TheBoyWonder: Growth seems to be a really common theme among this batch of heroes, and you were no exception. Romulus shedding his alias was a great bit of RP, but I think it was slightly topped by his betrayal in the end. Romulus doesn't seem too firmly allianced with Heroica, and I think you may want to gradually build upon that as Romulus grows. Thanks for participating! Elgar/Jedi Master Brick: Elgar's story didn't seem to really move on here, but his personality was fully established here - something very important. Elgar seems to have very firm moral standards, and a rigid belief of a world of black and white... seeing him gradually getting exasperated with my antagonists was pretty cool, as well. Thanks for participating during these 6 months, Jedi master brick! PM sidequests I will have up by the end of tonight... I need to compile/reformat them all.
  20. Flipz remedies Costy in the Battle Order.
  21. I brace for impact as Arthur tries to trigger his magnetic mojo... as he attempts to whack me over the head with a... baseball bat? "Be careful with that, Arthur!" I say, concerned. I watch the door and do nothing from the back row, hoping Arthur doesn't give me blunt force trauma.
  22. I'll be putting up my LDD files hopefully tonight, as well as my final analysis. Sorry, life happened, and I've only been starting to get better from whatever illness got me. State testing this week though, and fairly easy stuff at that! They still call off all schoolwork and homework for it though, so I'm free pretty much whenever this week! Also, Skyrimguy hit the nail on the had.
  23. Looking at all of the other classes, it seems to fit in rather well in terms of power: -Minstrels gobble up ether like crazy - since they chug tonics like no tomorrow and are bound to run out, the Spirit Medium's ether rejuvanating abillities could help out. -Alchemist has little to no actual battle capabilities - they are vending machines, basically. (Not to devalue them, their item creating abilities are awesome, but their rolls are literally no better then a basic class's, barring their Miss.) The Spirit Medium outdoes them on the offensive field by quite a bit. Fragile and Weakened seem largely underestimated. -Cannoneers have an elemental ravage that forces the use of a consumable. -Dragoons essentially stun themselves on rolls of Critical Hit, and have no means of restoring themselves - Building an undead army is far harder then harvesting souls, since one stun and it falls to pieces. Spirit Medium is basically a class with fairly good attack that sports the ability to keep building up their power, or lessen their power to heal, buff, and restore their allies. Also, it has Special Mirror, so that helps it in comparison to Alchemists and Minstrels. Implying the heroes you cited usually aren't buffed up anyway? Minstrels and Alcehmists are exactly like that too, in that regard. Except they do it to the entire party. Their buffs need to be placed well, but if used correctly their Suls can be expended to change the outcome of a battle.
  24. Thanks for the feedback everybody! V5, here we go... Spirit Medium These splintered souls walk the line between life and death. Additional Health: +3 Additional Ether: +7 (+1 per each level up.) Weapons: Staves, Maces, Clubs, Broomsticks, Wands, Gems, Scrolls, Spells and Scythes. Job Traits: Spiritism: See Necromancer. Soul Reaper: Every defeated enemy causes the Spirit Medium's Soul Counter to go up by one. Before every action they may expend their souls in a Soul Action (See below). Souls carry between battles but not between quests. Spellcasting: See Mage. Battle Style: Haunting: The Spirit Medium uses the souls of the dead to fight their opponents. 6. Shield: Blast From Beyond: The Spirit Medium harnesses the souls they have acquired. In a blast of magic they do WP + Level + Soul Counter to all enemies. The attack haunts the targetted enemy, making them Fragile for 3 rounds. 5. Ghostly Strike: The Spirit Medium damages the enemy equal WPx2 + Level + Soul Counter. The targetted enemy is frightened by the attack, with a 1/2 chance of Weakening them next round. 4. Hit: The Spirit Medium damages the enemy equal to WP + Level + Soul Counter. 3. Haunt: The Spirit Medium misses, but causes their target to hear the voices of those they have slain. The targetted enemy is Fragile next round. 2. Damage: The Spirit Medium is struck by the opponent's attack. 1. Special Mirror: See Witch. Soul Actions: Before every turn, the Spirit Medium may choose to expend their accumulated souls in one Soul Action: Healing Mist: The Spirit Medium reduces their acquired souls into a healing mist. For every soul the Spirit Medium chooses to expend, they or an ally regain 7 HP. Ethereal Ectoplasm: The Spirit Medium grinds their acquired souls into ether. For every soul the Spirit Medium chooses to expend, they or an ally regain 4 ether. Chant Of The Dead: By expending 2 souls, the Spirit Medium Encourages himself or an ally for the rest of the round and the next. Swift Spirits: By expending 2 souls, the Spirit Medium Hastens himself or an ally for the rest of the round and the next. Lady Luck's Whisper: By expending 2 souls, the Spirit Medium makes himself or an ally Lucky for the rest of the round and the next. -Nerfed the Soul Counter bonus in the Shield and Critical hit rolls. -Only a 1/2 chance of Weakening on a Critical Hit. -Extended the effects of the Lucky/Hastened/Encouraged Soul Actions from one round to two. Other Clarifications: -A Soul is added regardless of whether or not the Spirit Medium kills the enemy - they harvest regardless. I honestly thought you guys would think of it too weak. The Lucky/Hastened/Encouraged buffs only last two rounds. so I think a two round buff for every 2 enemies dead is fair. Also keep in mind, to create an item barely better then a potion, it takes 2 enemies dead... while the Alchemist can spontaneously create far better, party wide items without the need of killing foes. (The same applies to their Ether-producing action.) Thus, to buff these moves, I allowed them to take place before every action. Also keep in mind that with only a +3 HP boost, they are the squishiest of all Expert classes.
  25. Spirit Medium... V4, I believe? Now with an extra emphasis on souls/spirits, to keep it unique. In a blast of magic they do WP + Level + Soul Counter x2 to all enemies. The attack haunts the targetted enemy, making them Fragile for 3 rounds. 5. Ghostly Strike: The Spirit Medium damages the enemy equal WPx2 + Level + Soul Counter x2. The targetted enemy is frightened by the attack, Weakening them next round. Swift Spirits: By expending 2 souls, the Spirit Medium Hastens himself or an ally for the rest of the round. Lady Luck's Whisper: By expending 2 souls, the Spirit Medium makes himself or an ally Lucky for the rest of the round. Thoughts?
