  1. And so it begins, with an aded bookend for good measure!
  2. The tale I am about to tell you is, at last, the final chapter. The final chapter of a much, much longer story... That began over three thousand years ago. There is a lonely, remote island in the North. Three thousand years ago, the mages who resided there were slowly dying. The harsh wintry climate allowed neither cattle or steed to survive. Each day for the mages was a constant struggle against the cruel snow. The land was barren and infertile, and desolate of life. Thus, slowly but surely, the mages died one by one in the frigid cold. The greatest evokers among the mages sought to end the misery that plagued their people. Utilizing their greatest treasure, the Lifespark, they banded together and conducted a ritual atop the highest mountaintop. By the ritual's end, they had created a new type of lifeform: a new species was born. The Proggs. Little did they know that their own creation would eventually doom them to an even worse fate then before. The Proggs, when their population grew large enough, rallied against their masters. Led by four freedom fighters, The Mythrogg, Eve, Primii, and Prometheus, their human slave masters being driven into absolute extinction. This human genocide would be reignited once again in Luosh, controlled by the vile Prometheus - now calling himself The Regret. The Proggs were thwarted in this attempt. One by one, the three leaders of the Proggs were vanquished at the hands of the Heroes of Heroica. The Proggs were stopped on that day. But The Regret lived on. Five heroes assemble in the atrium of Heroica Hall. The party stares out of the Hall's many windows as the morning sun lazily rises, absentmindedly sorting their gear for the hardships that would befall them. Silently, each one recalled the wrongdoings of their foes, remembering the injustice he had inflicted upon their organization - or, in one man's case, recalling the atrocities of the "ally" that would be accompanying them. Those five heroes were: Lord Lawrence Boomingham (Zepher) Level 30 Paladin *Immune to Darkness-, Fire-elemental; Immune to Fragile, Sleep, Weakened, and Blindness* *Pierces SP From Front Row* *SP Ignored From Back Row* Power: 49 (Level 29 + WP: 14 + Power Bonus: 5) Power Bonus: 5 Defense: 10 (SP: 7 + SP: 3) Health: 53/53 (Base HP: 10 + Level bonus: 39 + Class bonus: 11 + Permanent bonus: 3) Ether: 29/29 (Base Ether: 0 + Level/Class bonus: 29) Gold: 176 Equipment: Scupperer (WP: 14; Darkness-, Fire-elemental; inflicts Bleeding (-5) and Poisoned (-10); great sword) Round Metal Shield (SP: 7), Tome of Affluence (+10 Gold if equipped for the entirety of a battle; Immune to Fragile, Sleep, Weakened, and Blindness; Immune to Darkness-, Fire-elemental; accessory), Counterstrike Gloves, Mopag Helm (SP: 3; headwear), Chains of the Pongcanis Chief (Hero Pierces SP if fighting from Front, Enemies ignore SP if hero fights from the back row, cannot be removed in battle) *Pseudo's Blessing (+4 Power; not an artifact)* Inventory: Frozen Saber (WP: 9; Light-, Ice-elemental; inflicts Stunned; great sword), Lullaby Wand (WP:6, Inflicts Sleeping Effect) • Hood of Belthazar Bluehood (Power +4; Ether -6; headwear) • Garnet, Sapphire, Amethyst • Scroll of Recklessness (Encouraged and Fragile; costs 5 Ether; 50/50 chance), Scroll of Blindness, Scroll of Weakening, Scroll of Fragility, Scroll of Sealing, Bolero Of Fire (Cause Fire damage equal to the minstrel's level to all enemies per round for as long as the song is sung. "Heroes. It's good to see you've come on time. You are all here, I trust? There should be one more Heroican arriving shortly that I requested for, as well as two other allies I have recruited. I must also ask you: How do you believe is most fit as Party Leader?" QM Note: Welcome to 105! Please confirm within 24 hours, as well as check to make sure your stats are alright. When everyone confirms, I'll move this along.
  3. With her announcement of the lottery concluded, the Sand Queen descends to the lower level of the hall, and speaks audibly: "Those on Quest #105. I would like you to meet me in this Hall, come morning. The time for you to depart is almost nigh." With that, she exits the main atrium of the hall, wandering through parts of the Hall unkown to the heroes.
  4. I'm nopt sure who you're talking about, Duvors, Sorrow is clearly not a horse... Though he is old, dead, withered, and decayed.
  5. If by "back" you mean "stabs me in the back", then... yes.
  6. I know, but I know half of heroica wants me to get it.
  7. Can't get the ether core if I don't enter the lottery!
  8. Eternal Reaper begins tomorrow! :excited:

  9. Eternal reaper begins tomorrow!

  10. The Regret used to be crustacean-ish, but mutilating the very essence of your being does a lot of weird things to your biology.
  11. Master of Regret got a new look, I see.
  12. Nstickney, Crowly can't really wait - you don't ressurect him this round, he is permanently dead.
  13. Yeah, I did it twice in 48, although both were one shot.
  14. Perhaps Cursed should drop the enemy's level, and not their HP?
  15. I'm actually running the best undead combinations to use right now as a bit of consolation.
  16. I apologize if my mistake causes any greivances for the UQers in advance - especially Brickdoctor. B&P, do you think you can wrap this one up in 2 days?
  17. An early bit in the quest (between battles 1 and 2) actually ties in pretty heavily with Johon's back story, though... And good to see there is some precedent for the system, I hadn't realized. The only issue that Heroica Hall is in Eubric, making Dyric's joining a bit more plausible than a hero travelling all the way to the Citadel in one night... But if Sandy approves, I may have something in store.
  18. Since 21 heroes were in demand and all of the quests were going on at once, the other QMs and I worked out who would be going where, and I announced early in order to avoid congestion. If you want/can get back before the quest begins (Aug. 2nd), I'd be happy to take you, as the beginning has something really relevant to Johon... if not, I'm talking to Sandy about a system that allows heroes to join the quest at a later date.
  19. ...B&P, I forgot to Pm you entirely, didn't I? I was on vacation these past two weeks, but as I wasn't hosting a quest, I did not mention it. I attempted to once, but the internet died, and I must've forgot to do it afterwards... Johon is still welcome in ER - I just wanted to close the sign ups early to ease the potential congestion in the hall, and I completely forgot. I'm sorry.
  20. And now that CallMePie pointed it out, the final combatants of 70 were arrested as well, not murdered. Shocking, considering Boomingham's temperment at the time.
  21. I said 86, Zepher, not 83. Although it is technically true too.
  22. They never robbed the houses, but the druggies from 86 persevered.
  23. I'm going to run away and hide now.
  24. I've never had any issue with the possibility/impossibility of the odds, I just don't like seeing that Lucky Die snapshot or any of the equivalents. I consider them worse than healing staves.
  25. The obvious solution is to nerf rogues, So she's permanently Hastened and Lucky, then?
