No, no, no, >:-( I don't like those magnas from the video game at all! I think they look stupid - Even though they may look more Lego typical, I don't care; I *wub* the new ones! I rather have them looking real, and, hey, with this design they have Exo Force arms which means they will be able to twirl their lightstaffs! *wub* And you gotta love their battle damaged capes! Also, those hoping for a new Grievous fig might just be right! *sweet* I can't imagine how exactly one could improve him, but TLC will think of something - and that would be awesome! :'-) As for the other figs: I love 'em! X-D Especially Oky, I mean, Obi Wan! :-P I have to say at this point that I am an absolute cartoon nut - I love anything animated and one of the reasons why ROTS is my favorite SW movie is because its mostly computer animated! I am majoring in Media Arts & Animation @ the Art Institute right now and am hoping to be part of the next generation of star wars cartoon makers soon! B-RV-9C Finally, I took some time to make pics of my entry and post it! While designing it, I really took the advice "be creative" to heart and came up with this: My Sig-Fig lives in a houseboat - a FLYING houseboat that is! An Air Barge if you will! Complete with jacuzzi, terrace, and flower beds! It also features some cannons to fend off those pesky air pirates! >:-) Hovering over the EB neighborhood by day, swimming in the EB Lake by night, this mixture of steampunk and Star Wars technology is being held up in the air by four giant proppellers and accelerates via two Podracer engines! Steering is being done partly by thrusters and partly by the tail sail. Each level of the house is removable to reveal the level below. Oky Wan can access them through trap doors. When you remove the terrace (which features a deckchair, an umbrella, and a telescope as you can see above), you can see the living room. Here you can find a small fireplace, an arm chair, and a TV. Oky Wan often comes here to relaxe and watch cartoons with a hot chocolate in the evenings. Near the door below, you can see a water hose hub, and, in the back, the jacuzzi. Below the entrance, there is Oky Wan's bedroom. He can access it using the ladder. It has a cozy bed, a wardrope, a small desk, a nic-nacs chest, a sink, and a toilet. Here, you have a better look at the bed, the Air Barge's steering wheel, and the flower beds: Oky Wan can be quite a pimp! :-D Here is a pic from the last party! (You can also see the cooler (the crate) and fuel tanks very well here): Well, I hope you guys like it. Most of you did a great job on your entries! May the force be with you and the best house win! I am using the Anime Skywalker hair, too! :-P I think a lot of us will be using it. It looks exactly like the one in the picture! However, good job indeed, SirNadroj, looks pretty close to the picture! Wow, looks like the girls littered a lot more since we saw the first pic! :-D They even had to bring in a 2nd trash can... But those party animals still have no aim! X-D The cloaked penguin guy looks just like I would have made him (even though I wouldn't use a cape)... but I dont have Jawas! :'-( Guess I'll be using a mummy head or something... My JetPack Guy looks way better than yours, though! :-P But yours looks good, too. ;-)

Hey, guys, over at the discussion about this Block Block picture, LFADN has miraculously found and posted this great picture of the back of this box art! http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=flyer&db...id=5181ℑ=2 I think, it could come in handy for this contest, especially if you want photoshop the theme and brand logo out to use them to make your entry pic(s) look like box art too! It also features better pics of the minifigs (in case you want to try to accurately recreate them) and a close-up of the space ship in the background of Hinckley's pic. But I call dibs that ship, though! X-D I think it's a great vehicle to base a set on! Nah, just kiddin'. You can use it to make an entry, too... So, I have researched this theme a little and it is definitely the arcade game "Strider", "Strider 2" to be exact. It has to be the sequel as the theme features a character introduced in Strider 2, Strider Hien (the one in the white cloths), and it has the purple swipe shaped like a "2" beside the title. If you would like to know more about Strider, you can read about it in this Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strider_%28arcade_game%29 There you can find the plot, and if you read about the stages, you get hints about who the characters on the Block Block boxart are - they are all bosses from the game. WARNING: If you are planing on entering Hinckley's marvelous contest, I would NOT recommend reading this! It will polute you're mind with what it really is and make it harder for you to be creative and build something from your interpretation of the theme, which is the whole point of the contest! That's at least what happened to me. |-/ Also, If you google images for "Strider", you get great pics of the protagonist Hiryu. I hope that was helpful.

Hi! Yes, It's me again! And yes, I *wub* you too! X-D Sweet! Thank you very much for all the answers! Now I know exactly what to do and will start planing my entry right away! My interpretation of this line is a futuristic anime mix of Street Fighter, Alpha Team, and something like He-Man: The guy in the purple cloths is the protagonist, the guy (or is it a chick?) in the white cloths is his sidekick, the girl(s) is their friend, the guy in the cloak is their arch-nemesis (probably a sorcerer), and the jetpack-guy is his loyal henchman! I could imagine it to be great fun designing the bad guy's lair which, I believe, is the jellyfish-like space station in the background of the theme logo, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time. Perhaps I'll just stick to designing a middle priced set including some kick-megablocks vehicles for the good guys and the JetPack Guy with some kind of doomsday device... Maybe its a machine that produces girl band clones with face eating hair! :-D I have to admit that this might just be one of the greatest contests ever for it really tickles your imagination and gives you a chance to design a set that is ready for TLC to take and market! *sweet* Good job, Hinckley! *y* About the FAQ: Well... Or is it Capcom games in general? Or is it just whatever our mind makes us believe this theme is? About the name of the theme: Has anybody tried to translate the asian stuff on there yet? I can't see any of this piece anywhere in them. 8-| Btw, rumors about these pieces being blue could be true, but they still look quite black to me. So, anyway, what do you guys think that engine on the side of the speedboat is for? It doesn't seem to represent an engine really as there is obviously only one of them, so it's probably some kind of action function. The only thing I can think of would be a batcave style net launcher, which could be since there seems to be something spikey in front of it. at first I thought it was barbed wire, but what sense would that make? *wacko* Also, does anyone understand the story of Mission 3? I know that the objective is to retrieve a map that reveals the location of something Metal-Jaw has hidden - but what did he hide? The previously stolen gold and/or diamond? And if he came into the swamp just to hide that stuff, why then has the tower his logo on it? Perhaps he put it on there right after his arrival in order to mark it as his? It's the bank truck with the TwoFace paint job all over again! :-| How about Mission 6? The important thing in this one seems to be a bad guy the agents imprisoned and who the other cyborgs try to free, somebody with crazu hair. Wait a minute, is that supposed to be the leader of the bad guys? The one depicted in their logo? That would make kind of sense. But why is this taking place on a peer? I just don't get it. Honestly, I miss a consistent storyline like in the original Alpha Team or the Adventure sets here. If TLC decides to number the missions, they should at least make it make sense and have it be an ongoing story! That would have been cool, you know, with the important items in each mission being part of a grand plan to take over the world or something! But, no, as of the looks of it, these cyborgs don't seem like an organization bent on world domination or anything at all, more like mere thugs - stealing some treasure here, kidnapping some operatives there... As a future cartoonist and fan of Heroes-and-Villains stories, I'd have to say that this is one of the greatest flaws of this theme! *sad* Not Good, TLC! |-/ But, oh well! I just love this theme so! :-D Also, I was making sure that this post didn't get overlooked. How about a flight right into the middle of the Battle of Hoth or Geonosis? Anyway, the last time I went there, I noticed something strange on that flight plan: Among all the well-known planets like Tatooine, Hoth, and even Geonosis, it also features a olanet called "Panna"! I wondered "What the heck is 'Panna'?" I had never heard of it before and I didn't find out what it was until I watched the Star Wars Holiday Special on YouTube: it's the mud-moon where Luke meets Boba Fett for the first time in the cheesy cartoon the little wookie boy watches!
