  1. You guys are obsessing about the mouth prints way too much. Who cares if Cap has a similar expression as Supes or Bruce. The rest of him looks different enough. And no, Luthor has a different face, he only has similar cheek bones. How hard can it be to build a pyramid out of bricks and maybe use slopes to create a clean outline? I think it's because they used the circle because it's more recognizable. I do hope that he comes with that design in one of the sets because it looks better than the triangle, but I think hoping for that is almost as hopeless as hoping for a Hulk with purple pants.
  2. Very good! The detailing inside the shaft is excellent! If you continue with this MOC, it would be good if you would add a bit more to the top floor, like the surrounding walls and ray shields. As for Kenobi's hair, I think I like the old generic male hairpiece that he had in the Jedi defense set better. Besides, I think that fig is more official than the one from the stop motion film. Please post a link in the sign-up thread once you've made any additions.

    Star Wars

Yeah, that's exactly how I felt. This sounds fake to me, but I guess it's possible. Being a fan of time travel stories, and seeing the lack of them in the SW universe, I always thought it would be interesting to introduce that concept, but aside from fun little fanfics (anyone remember the Star Wars Comic Game?) I never thought about how it would actually incorporate into the franchise. Now that I think about it, it might not be such a good idea, but if done well, they could still poll it off, I think. Only time will tell. Or they could just do the whole Star Trek thing where the time traveling creates an alternate universe/timeline, so none of the existing canon will get screwed up.

Here's the official Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-9EYFJ4Clo&list=UU5vFx0GahDIWLMFm5j2_JZA&feature=plcp I must say that I'm disappointed. The teaser was so much better, and so was the Vader kid from last year, as they say in the video. Still nice though.
  5. Copy Cat! Here are two requests I have received. The first one is from Lego Otaku: The second one is another one from Zilcho. Be warned that it may be a bit inappropriate for children.
  6. Those links don't work either. Just check any of the images in the lower third of this page.
  7. Am I missing something? Why is everyone talking about how great the Black Widow fig looks? All I see is a blurry red blob. The Quinjet does look good though from what we can see. Is that thing below it a small Skrull ship? The FBTB report of the London Toy Fair mentioned a "pop-out undercarriage thingy", so this could be it, but it could also be something else. I also find it hilarious that the jet seems to be firing at Iron Man's melon head.
  8. Excellent! Gasgano is spot-on, and so is his pod! The sheer size and detail of those engines is impressive, most impressive!
  9. Very well done! It looks very detailed and accurate! The only thing I would change is to remove the 1x2 tiles in the back so that the back is flat. I've indexed this, but please provide a link to your entry in the sign-up thread next time. The one Padme used looked pretty bluish to me, although that wasn't one of the military variant. Either way, it looks pretty good in blue, so who cares. The front ones are attached by one stud to SNOT hinge plates, and the back ones are attached to large SNOT plates.
  10. I'm pretty sure the following count as Easter eggs too: 3221 LEGO Truck includes stickered blue boxes which resemble the Lego set boxes of 7236, 7942, and 3221 itself. The 7848 Toys R Us Truck also has some which resemble 7942 and 7235. Similarly, the Scala set 3142 Marie's Room included a stickered tile which represented the Lego Island videogame CD-ROM case.
  11. Nice entry. Like others have said, the scene you describe never happened, neither in the book nor the movie. I think there may have been an instance in the books when Harry tried to find a last-minute gift for Dobby, but I'm not sure. I think it would be better if you try to find the pajama guy (just feel for the spiky hair and teddy bear) and make the Christmas morning scene. Otherwise, this could just be Harry getting dressed on a regular school morning. As for the dorm itself, it's pretty nice. I don't mind the un-tiled floor. The only thing that bothers me a bit is how dark and ominous the room looks, but maybe this is the dorm in the evening or very early morning when it's dark. Also, I think the Gryffindor brick would look better on the wall than standing randomly in the room.
  12. If the floor is supposed to be Slytherin themed, shouldn't it be green and grey? Besides, I don't think any casual Lego collector has that many dark green tiles. But normal green would probably look too colorful.
  13. Not bad. I have a certain fondness of the old yellow minifigs too, so kudos on using those. Also, this is the first time I have seen the old Snape with the new hair and it actually looks pretty good. You know, aside from the whole glowing head issue. The office itself is nice, and while not movie or book accurate, it still looks like it could be Snape's office. However, I think there should be more than just four potion bottles in an office that is supposed to belong to a potions master. Also, while the tiling is nice, it looks more like a kitchen floor than that of an office. I think it would be better if you switch out the white tiles for grey ones. Other than that, good job, especially on that bookshelf.
  14. Those HP runes and Vic Viper references sure are great! That reminds me: The spaceship in 5981, the Raid VPR, is also a vic viper, and the last three letters of it's name are probably meant to be pronounced "Viper" as a reference to that! Agreed. If that would count as an easter egg, then TimeCruisers would be Easter-egg-palooza!
  15. Happy Birthday, Rebel commander! Consider this my present to you: Also, here's something for you to, uhm... have fun with.
  16. No, no duplicate threads please. I'd suggest that each of you post an entry thread with a picture showing the part of the scene which you built yourself, and then provide a bonus image of the two combined entries. You were surprised that it was based on something from the movie?
  17. Same here. I'm watching the original on Netflix. It's alright; very cheesy, but that's excusable considering the time it was made in. Still not as bad as the Iron Man cartoon(s). And yes, I too can't wait for DC Nation! Also, I just found out that the new season of the Avengers will air in April, which is perfect as that is also the release date for the Lego sets and will get us pumped for the movie in May!
  18. Hehe, those are pretty good! Although the second one would have been better if it would actually read like something C-3PO would say. Also, what's with the extra "a"s in "Aayla"? Two more from me: The Three Musketeers of The Clone Wars
  19. The Space Police sets were riddled with classic space references. I hardly own any, so I can't really say what they are. And then there's the whole coffee machine running joke. And lately there seems to be a similar trend with random bananas in sets such as 9455.
  20. You have 2 months. That should be plenty of time. And what's LUCS?
  21. Wow, that was fast! A bit too fast... This is a nice scene, but it looks like you just threw a few minifigs and random pieces along with the official podracer on a baseplate. It would be good if you could add some more scenery such as the slumps. Also, a tan baseplate would be more suitable if you have one. Certainly a funny presentation though.
  22. Wow! It's been only half a day and we already have over thirty participants! You don't have to have any official sets to enter. In fact, some of the best MOCs use only a small amount of pieces from the theme they're built for. No, it's not required, and it doesn't matter if you build the same thing as someone else. The more Naboo Starfighters the merrier! Is this your entry? If so, please follow the entering guidelines by posting it in a new thread and keep in mind the picture size limit for deeplinked pics. Also, that's not how you spell Tatooine. Thanks! It took me a while to photoshop it all together. Special thanks to grogall for providing all the hi-res images! Oh hardy-har-har. I've added you to the list, so please do try to come up with a real entry until the deadline.
  23. As surprising as that is, it's great to have you on board! Knowing your expertise in minifig-scale LDD vehicles, I'm sure it'll be great! You have two months. I'm sure you'll come up with something. Done!
  24. There is a new menace on the horizon... Seeing how successful the Original Trilogy community builds were, it seems like a no-brainer to continue the tradition the same way the movies did: with the prequels! And what better time to start this than the month in which Episode I is being released in theaters in 3D! Like the previous builds, this is not a contest, just a chance to build with everybody in a common theme. Your entry can be anything in any size or scale, from vehicles to creatures to vignettes, as long as it relates to Episode I: The Phantom Menace! The deadline is April 1, 2012. Guidelines for posting: 1) Post your MOC in a separate topic in the LSW forum with the subtitle CB SWI - The Phantom Menace. 2) Reply to this thread with a picture of your MOC and a link to the entry thread. 3) You may post as many pictures of your MOC as you like inside your entry thread. Pics should be no larger than 800x600. 4) Your entry will be added beside your name in the Sign-ups. 5) You may create as many new MOCs as you want but please do your best to complete them before the deadline. Sign-ups/Entries: 1) The_Customizer 2) Brickdoctor - N-1 Starfighter 3) Ceroknight - SW EP I Chess Set 4) Ritz Brick 5) Mr Man - Pretty Red Ship 6) Esurient - Young Anakin's Podracer 7) Brickmamba 8) lego envy - The Final Duel 9) ADHO15 - Otoh Gunga, MTT and Swamp 10) JackJonespaw - Gasgano's Podracer, Dud Bolt's Podracer, Maul's Last Battle, Naboo Swamp 11) Hollander - Lucrehulk Spaceship 12) Sam892 - You will be a Jedi, I promise. 13) Masked Builder 14) Legoman273 - Theed Palace Hangar, Darth Maul Attacks 15) sealslip3 - Flash Speeder 16) ACPin - Theed Hangar Entry, Naboo Starfighter Bay, Theed Hangar Encounter, Theed Palace Breakthrough 17) Saberwing40k 18) stark mark 5 - V19 Landspeeder 19) StoutFiles 20) M<0><0<DSWIM - Battle Droids and STAP 21) Ninja Nin - The Final Duel 22) douche Nihilus 23) JediAnakin 24) Lobot - Watto's Junkyard 25) Dapper-D2 - Hunting Qui-Gon Jinn 26) Walt - Watto's Shop 27) Tanotrooper 28) Patriot720 29) JimButcher - Battle of Theed Part 1 30) simonjedi 31) Anio 32) K-nut 33) Parrothead Rasmus - Wandering Watto's...
