  1. Thanks, guys! I'm glad you like it, even though it's only half done. Thanks. The SNOT technique was the only way of getting the checker pattern and the curvature to look right. I started out building it studs up, but it just didn't work for me. I probably would tile it if I had enough tiles to get a smooth cloth look, but I guess it works this way too. And yes, of course I am planning a commentator booth, along with a scoreboard and Quidditch Cup! What would Quidditch be without Lee Jordan and McGonagall! You're right. I'll see if I have any more Technic axles in gray... That's the black and white tower on the center line, right? Yes, I'll probably have one, but since the towers are too small for anyone to sit in them, the teachers and visitors will be sitting in the tribunes between the towers. I wish I had enough bricks to make a full scale Quidditch pitch with towers that actually seat minifigs, but oh well.
  2. I think there is a misunderstanding here. The Black ARF is a promotion that is going on right now. I have yet to see an official statement (or implication) from TLG that it will also be the May the Fourth/Revenge of the Fifth promotion, and I doubt that it will, since it would be strange if they had the same promotion twice within two months.
  3. Relax! I was joking too. Fair enough. I was just curious. I said it's fine. Let it go. And I really like the Anakin hair on Ock by the way! It looks much more like the Alfred Molina version than the official fig does.
  4. Perhaps, but we still don't know what he is doing there. I know. I'm just saying that it has more Licensed and Creator Lego than SW Lego in it. Whatever though. Well, that's not very nice. And it certainly isn't Lego Star Wars Photography.
  5. 1. Bail Organa. Duh! It's not like they would send the apprentice of the guy who killed her mother and every Jedi on Coruscant to protect her. In the EU, it was Ferus Olin. 2. Sure, why not. 3. See answer 2. 4. I guess it's a possibility, but very unlikely since they're some of the main characters in this show, so they wouldn't put them into that series too. After all, that show is about the underworld, the minor characters. At least I hope not, because that would be just overkill.
  6. Thanks! And yes, I would love some feedback, so here it is.
  7. Alright, here's my entry for this great community build, the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch! Today is the big game between Gryffindor and Slytherin! As you approach the stadium, the thundering cheers of the school's students and staff can be heard. As you get closer, you can see several festive flags decorating the front of the stadium. Before the start of the game, the two teams enter the pitch and the captains of the teams shake hands. Next, Madam Hooch gives the team some directions, telling them that she wants a "good, clean game." Then the balls are released, and the game begins! Alicia Spinnet has the Quaffle and is being tackled by two Slytherin chasers! But Fred & George got her back as they shoot a bludger toward her attackers! Meanwhile, one of the Slytherin beaters hits a bludger Angelina Johnson's way. Watch out! Oliver Wood vigilantly guards the goal posts. Meanwhile, Katie Bell flies high to gain a good vantage point. "JORDAN!" Harry Potter catches the Snitch! Gryffindor wins! (What a big surprise. ) From the stands, Harry's friends cheer for him, while Prof. Snape and Mr. Malfoy watch in distaste. Who is that handsome devil sitting in the Hufflepoff stands? Now, let's meet the teams. Here is the victorious Gryffindor team! From left to right: Fred & George Weasley, Harry Potter, Oliver Wood, Katie Bell, Alicia Spinnet, and Angelina Johnson. And here's Marcus Flint, Draco Malfoy, and the rest of the all-male Slytherin team. All pics can be found in this brickshelf folder. Comments and criticism welcome.
  8. Alright, to prove that I can get something entered (and wont "ditch" this CB as my new title implies), here's my WIP entry, the Quidditch pitch:
  9. These are brilliant! I recognized all of them instantly! This could be a whole new trend for MOCs like the CubeDudes!
  10. What does FiM have to do with this? If anything, FiM is the opposite case: it turned something unlikable into something awesome. Fair enough. But what's wrong with Liam Neeson and podracing? Yeah, perhaps we just had too high expectations because this was the last episode of the season.
  11. I'm totally going to get this, if only for that incredibly awesome minifig! In all seriousness, this is a very neat model. I did not expect them to put so many play features in it at all! The price does seem a bit high compared to other UCS sets, but I guess it's still fair. I'll probably still wait for a sale though.
  12. Exactly my point. Because the show is aimed at kids, they feel the need to dumb down the characters, which ends up ruining them. Excuse me? The movie was titled "The Phantom Menace" which obviously referred to the Sith, and Darth Maul is one of those Sith, so the movie was very much about him. "Brothers" was pretty terrible if you ask me. I gotta admit that "Revenge" was better, and to say that Maul was "ruined" is a bit harsh, but it was not as good as it could have been, so it's still kinda true. But I guess it could have been worse.
  13. I don't get it... Nice use of the Sleepyhead parts though. Nice pun. How many Anakins does it take to screw in a Se-Bulb-A?
  14. The rebel bloggers review of the season finale and the season as a whole is up: LINK Coming from someone who has actually seen the episode, let me explain. No, it's not the mere fact that he talks now, it's because the content of what he says is poor. He comes across as an average cliche villain who rambles on and on about revenge and how unfairly he was treated. It just seems like a lazy effort by the writers and cheapens the character. Saying that Maul didn't have a character before just because he didn't have as much screen time as other characters is wrong. You clearly got the idea that he was the strong silent type, and that's what made him (and Boba Fett) cool. When people say he talks too much now, they mean that he says too many cliche things. At least that's what I think. I wouldn't expect him to "go back to being the old Maul", considering what he has gone through, just to be less ordinary. It's always hard to find a way to please the fans, but this wasn't it.
  15. Bane, the desert mando is not bad, although I don't know what he's doing in the desert. I'm not really sold on the blur though. It feels more like an earthquake than motion blur. And I'm not sure if that last picture can be considered SW photography... Seems like it would fit better into the Licensed photography thread. Nice idea though!
  16. Okay. Sorry, CM. 1. Uh, not it's not. As it was pointed out before, Ultimate Nick Fury always looks like that/him. 2. It doesn't have to be based on the show to feature elements from it (case in point: Dark Knight sets). Besides, it could be based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comics.

    Farewell

Make us proud by proposing all the good ideas from the Future Star Wars Sets thread to them, you hear!
  18. I am too, but that doesn't keep me from posting in a mature manner. And yes, he might be, along with Fury. We're talking about the picture on the microsite. And no, we certainly don't need more than two 'eyes.
  19. Thanks, guys. I was afraid the Series 8 picture would be too small, but if I made the screen any bigger, it would look like Riddler is using the Batcomputer. Here are some more:
  20. Dude, seriously, stop shouting. And I doubt that it will be this way. With HP, we had a map with silhouettes where it started out with one figure and then slowly started revealing the others. Here, we see most of the figs right off the bat. The only ones missing are Hawkeye, Black Widow (who is in the Quinjet, I think), Iron Man Mark VI, Nick Fury, Spidey, and Doc Ock, and there doesn't seem to be any space for them in that picture. Still no sign of the sets on US S@H. By the way, did anyone notice that the Batmobile isn't showing up among the Super Heroes sets? I was worried it was sold out, but fortunately you can still find it on there.

I think Hinckley works for Lego, although I don't think that he discusses future sets. The first rule of The Lego Group is you don't talk about Lego.

    Farewell

This was quite unexpected, but I guess I can understand if you want to keep your job and hobby separate. It was great having you as our bombad moderator and fearless rebel (blogger) leader! You have certainly brought this forum to a great condition, and we shall try to keep it that way (and perhaps even improve it) in your absence. I hope you have a lot of fun (and a big paycheck) at your new job, and may the force be with you, always.
  23. Indeed, a very brilliant pun, Ritz! Clone O'Patra, how did you like my "Overdid It" funny? I made that one with you in mind since that was your favorite scene from that movie.
  24. Good point. Although I can imagine much worse.
  25. Thanks for adding the pics and second question! But since you didn't include the X-Men minifigs for some reason, I had to vote "Other" because, for me, the best Marvelfig is Deadpool! Deadpool is awesome, and the minifig is spot-on!
