  1. I used to think it would be impossible for me to pick just one movie, because of all the different genres, but based on number of rewatchings (beyond count) I can now say that my favorite movie is Lincoln (from 2012, directed by Steven Spielberg, staring Daniel Day-Lewis). And Im not even American...
  2. The Volcano base looks good from a Castle standpoint. Too expensive for me anyway. The other sets, though impressive in their own ways, are just about the sum of their parts. Its nice to see the black scurrier and more books. Am intersted in the Ultimate Flama. I assume we get so many Ash Attackers because TLG wants to milk the new helmet mold. On to 2017, and, hopefully, plant/mushroom people!
  3. So long as they rule at making LEGO sets, theres no cause to complain about their net-saviness.
  4. As mentioned above, Vladek is a real name. I guess it was meant to be a play on Vlad the impaler, but I still wonder why they chose the -ek suffix. As Immo said above, its a diminutive or hypochoristic form, which takes all the scariness out of the name for any Slavic language speaker. Its like naming a villain "Timmy". As for any other punny names, to keep it Castle-related, how about Weezil from KK1. And I wonder whether Achu, apart from being a pun on sneezing, was also meant to reference Machu Pikchu.
  5. You should build a diorama featuring them all, then post it on Eurobricks.
  6. After some thought, here are my suggestions. I preferred to leave out Wu and Garmadon, since they should be advisors rather than heroes who do battle and who the kids identify with. That left me with six ninjas vs 7 enemy factions , so I brought in Dareth "the brown Ninja". -Skulkin - Kai (he was the focus of this first arc, and they were the reason he became a ninja) -Serpentine - Lloyd (this is where his arc begins) OR Jay (they attacked his parents and almost turned them into snakes) OR Nya (this is where she became Samurai X) -Stone Army - Dareth (he was ultimately responsible fort heir defeat, after all) OR Lloyd (because of the "golden ninja defeating the overlord" thing) -Nindroids - Zane (obvious) -Cultists - Tough one. Basically the leftover slot. In the end, I went with Nya as no one else really fits. And she did shine in this season, going after the rest of the gang, going undercover, etc. OR maybe Good Guy Garmadon, since he has a history with them. -Ghosts - Cole (obvious) -Pirates - Jay (obvious) In the event that the pirates would be seen as too recent to be used again so soon, it leaves us with six ninjas vs six factions, making it a bit less messy: -Skulkin - Kai -Serpentine - Jay -Stone Army - Lloyd -Nindroids - Zane -Cultists - Nya -Ghosts - Cole It would be possible to switch Kai and Nya for the reasons Penkid gave above.
  7. Lloyd does. The bigger question is, who would Nya pair with?
  8. Anyone think Flama or Moltor could be useful for a flaming Sauron from the Hobbit?
  9. Huh. It took me some getting used to seeing Flama as female, now it will take some getting used to the reverse. Whatever the gender, its shaping up to be my 2nd favorite fig of the theme - behind Moltor, who wins by a landslide over anyone else. As for the cap debate, Im kind of glad they didnt waste a mold for the jester cap, partly since the current one is more useful for a jester in general (though this is kind of moot, as I wont be shelling out the moeny for his set just for the minifig), but mostly because it frees up resources for entirely new elements. Its all about the priorities.
  10. Yes, Chima is over and done. Now we have Nexo Knights instead...
  11. "Jarring" as MAB put it describes the effect best for me. The colors clash too much - maybe the guy is a chaos knight, and its visible in the colors? It is indeed my favorite fig of the series, but I will be using the shield separately, if at all. Not a fan of the red - dark red combo either. While I do associate red and green with Christmas (and assume it is that way because of the evergreen holly plant, unlike other plants that lose leaves and dont have berries in the winter), this guy didnt evoke the holidays at all. Maybe its all the dark gray.
  12. So, do we know if the scurrier arms are compatible with minifigs?
  13. Yeah, that would work just fine for me too. And then add 360° skirt printing.
  14. I can see Belle, Tyana and Cinderella using the new queen dress piece. Its not 100% accurate, but this is LEGO after all, and I think it would be better than the slope piece, and for now its a debate between the two. The dresses of all three of these princesses are puffy relative to the eveyday outfits they wear, and I think the queen dress piece would emphasize that contrast nicely. Ideally, of course, TLG would make an in-between dress piece, but that could be said for every less-than-accurate LEGO part.
  15. I think its more about the spaceship looking like the Futuron 6932 Stardefender "200". Not to mention the UFO looking like the 7052 UFO Abduction, or the cockpit part of 7065 Alien Mothership, of Alien Conquest. EDIT: replaced image
  16. I voted for the Knight, for his versatility in not having any markings, and simply because Im a Castle fan first and foremost. But its always hard to decide.
  17. Well, the bad guys at least keep sounding interesting! Looking forward to a volcano fortress and I also hope these plant guys make it into physical brick form.
  18. Great representation, especially of the hair - kind of looks like Kai (or the zombie businessman). And interesting way to do the hands.
  19. Glad to see the list was debunked - I had no idea whether it was plausible or not, but all five Emotions at ones seemed excessive.
  20. top five: knight, queen, tribal mom, satyr, farmer. least favorite: shark suit guy
  21. Very, very eerie - its impressive how the build conveys that feeling. The lighting helps too, of course, but I think the organic vibe of the build accomplishes it more.
  22. I would prefer the ballerina hair in another color for Animal Control. top three: Knight, Queen, Tribal Woman (Doesnt really roll off the tongue - rather like Grandma Visitor) bottom three: Shark Suit Guy, Wrestler (though I do like that mullet), Laser Robot. More opinions when I have time to compose my thoughts.
  23. Dont forget the leaked parts. TLG still has some way to go till perfection.
  24. Glad to help! Now, what we need is an updated version of the guides - theres two waves worth of new minifigs!
  25. Color me intrigued. I always like the world-bulding aspect of these movie franchises the most, and I expect this one (or all three) to deliver.
