  1. I do have a brickshelf account, but my username there is danielz, since DNL already was in use. I also have a flickr account. (links in my signature) I haven't taken any pictures of the characters yet, i wanted to have the right pieces to make some more first, but i will take a picture of the ones i have so far.
  2. I'm almost finished reading book eleven of The Wheel Of Time, and i really liked seeing your MOC at brickshelf. I love the water, it looks very wild, which is quite hard to manage with SNOT water. The wall is nice with the differnt Ajah's colors, but the crenelations are too low, they should cover the whole body of a minifig. I really have to make a WoT MOC one time, i've already made some characters. (Mat, Rand, Perrin, Nyneave, some Aiel) Everyone who hasn't read the books should definitely consider reading them, there are many books, but that should not discourage you. The story is great, and fewer books would not have been enough.
  3. April fools!! I made this building in one evening for a layout we had on a show last weekend. The picture isn't mine like freddy pointed out, i couldn't find my camera, so i had to use that one. I defintely won't stop building castle, and i'm going to continue with my evolution project. I'm not going to build a town layout, but i might build some more (and better!) town MOCs later.

  5. I'm sorry, but after building many castles and medieval buildings i've run out of ideas and inspiration, so I have dicided to stop working on this project and take apart my castle. I've built so many castles and other medieval MOCs already, and i feel like trying another theme. Here is my first town building for my new town layout: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27442

  7. The scaffolding looked nice, but i prefer taking a ``finished´´ castle to a show. (although that tower didn't look very nice, since i didn't have time to change it) There were actually two kids who kept coming back, one with glasses and one with long hair, but the second one came more often. hehe, everyone was wondering where we got al those `special´ bricks
  8. Thanks everybody!! Yes, i added some more landscape on the front, and the next stage will have even more landscape. Only one of the two diagonal parts of the crane is held together by gravity. I would have attached it if i had some brown hinges, but since i don't this was the only way to do it. I'm already more than halfway done building stage four, so it will be finished within a week.
  9. Here is the Third stage of Hrothingas Castle: More photos on Flickr Stage 2 Stage 1
  10. Thanks everybody! There is at least one clear pic of the gatehouse on my flickr photostream. I did plan where the keep would be in the later stages and where the towers are going to be but i haven't disigned anything.
  11. Thanks for the comments everybody Yes it's new, there was a smaller tree in it's place in the first stage. The landscape (vegetation) changes as the castle changes, but i won't change to rocks since it takes a lot more time for rocks to erode than just a couple of hundred years. Good idea to add a link to the first stage, thanks! The tree on the rear of the castle is built using headlight bricks and plants. the one next to the gate has leaf pieces that are attached to each other vertically, just try it to find out how, its hard to explain.
  12. Here is the second stage of my castle evolution project. This partly stone castle could have existed around 1100. more pictures on flickr brickshelf folder when its public Hrothingas stage 1 EDIT: Could one of the admins please change this topic's title?
  13. This is the first stage of my castle. It will evolve into a bigger stone castle in the next stages. This wooden castle could have existed around 950 AC. More pictures on flickr Daniel
  14. Thanks. I'm busy building a big castle that i'm going to display at a show with Norways LUG right now, and i'm going to build it in different stages (starting with a wooden castle and then evolving into a big stone castle) so it will take some time to finish that (pictures of the first stage coming soon). But maybe i will have some time in between to build a little building for the CCB.
  15. Thanks everybody No, it ended yesterday.
  16. This is my entry for the Job Mullers contest at Classic-Castle.com More pictures
  17. Thanks everybody Thanks for putting it on the frontpage! There are some very detailed roman buildings, and it just looks nice I'm quite busy at the moment, i'm building an entry for the job muller contest at CC, and after that i have to start building a castle that i'm going to display at a model train show at the end of march, but after that i'll probably have time.(if that isn't too late?) Daniel
  18. Thanks! So he can chop of the legs of the citizens in the streets?
  19. A couple of weeks ago i realised that there are very few roman MOCs, so i decided to make this little temple: More pictures
  20. The fortress would have looked nicer if the light bluish gray parts were dark grey, but i understand why TLG decided to use LBG for the walls, if they were dark gray they would blend too much with the rocks. It would have been better if the walls were brown (and dark brown). A bit like the viking fortress, but then with no log pieces and a lot of dark brown.
  21. This entry is for the haunted castle category: "Long ago the castle of Kloyet was destroyed. Nobody knows why, but somehow the old inhabitants have come to live, and their ghosts are slowly rebuilding the castle. " Flickr page And this is my tapestry entry: Flickr page Daniel
  22. Thanks for the comments everyone! Good idea. I will make it after the CCCVI, I don't have time now.
  23. This is my fourth entry for the Colossal castle contest, for the crime and punishment category. A poor peasant and his wife steal some animals from a rich merchant, but the merchant's son sees them and follows them to their little house in the forest. flickr
  24. Thanks for the comments everybody! I have uploaded more pictures of this MOC and of my Siege entry to my brickshelf folder and my flickr photostream. Somehow the brickshelf map doesn't get public (i uploaded them saturday...) but you can see them on my Flickr photostream
  25. This is my third entry for the Colossal Caste Contest at Classic-castle.com. More pictures
