  1. Great! On wednesday i'll probably be free from 11.00 AM, so anytime afer that would be fine with me. And i prefer the cheapest ferry of course, i think the shortest and cheapest possibility is to take the ferry from Larvik, it only takes a few hours and it's not expensive.
  2. Could i possibly drive with you if you decide to take the car? I suppose you won't buy that many big sets that there is no more space left Do you plan to take the ferry to denmark or drive through sweden? You don't have to pay extra for luggage if you only take hand luggage, right? Last time i went to Billund i had just hand luggage, and there was enough space left for quite some bricks. I's very easy to save space by filling pockets and wearing double layers of clothes Thanks, that sounds good.
  3. I will probably be able to come to the event I have a few questions: - Does one of the organisators organize where we will sleep? - If yes, will everyone sleep in a room with 4 persons, so we can divide the costs between us? - At exactly what time and/or where do we meet? i want to book a flight ASAP. - Is the event over on sunday afternoon or sunday evening? Daniel
  4. These look great! If they really will be sold in opaque bags with random parts i guess there will be a lot of these on bricklink, and maybe we could even start a Collectible-minifures-tradepost webside
  5. 92b Although this isn't really a pirate MOC, i thought it would be best to post it here since it is a ship, and my new brick-built hull technique could be very useful for you This is my first whole ship, and i'm very happy with the way it turned out. It is also an entry for the CCCVII over at Classic-Castle.com. The cog was the most used type of trade ship in medieval europe. It was thanks to these boats the Hanseatic League grew as large and rich as it did, and it caused the trade withing Europe to grow. Bigger and one more pic on flickr I can't upload any more pics right now as brickshelf is down, so you will have to wait for more detail pictures.
  6. After the king of the forest's secret hideout was discovered by the king's scouts (see my secret hideout entry for last year's CCC), the fortress was attacked and the outlaws inprisoned in a nearby castle. Now the rest of the outlaws try to free their king with the help of a spy among the castle's guards and a barrel of good wine... Pictures on flickr (For some reason i can't upload anything to brickshelf right now, so there's no brickshelf page yet)
  7. Thanks everyone! Yes, those are made of those plastic rings. I had been trying to find a good use for those for a while, and this is what i came up with. A lot For the CCCVII i will make at least one more whole castle, and right now i'm working on a realistic scaled gatehouse (with 5 studs thick walls) This is in fact my first castle that is inspired by a real castle. It is inspired by the castle of Boulbon in southern france. Here are some pics: ONE TWO THREE It's hard to see on the pictures how imposing that castle ruin is, it's located on a huge rock, and can be seen from far away. As you can see the MOC turned out to look quite different from the real castle, but as you can see on the first picture there are some similarities. It does look nice, but i think it would make a castle look too fragile. A castle's walls should be strong, but if they are made of a lot of those 1x1 round plates it would seem weaker. Although it would be nice for a building inside a castle's walls to add some variation. Daniel
  8. The Colossal Castle Contest on Classic-Castle has started again, and here is my first entry: More pictures on flickr all the pictures on brickshelf
  9. Thanks everyone! Actually all hail The Gimp (which is free!)
  10. Here is this fifth and final stage of my project. The once strong castle of Hrothingas has fallen into decline. After the castle lost it's defensive function when gunpowder was invented it was deserted, and part of the walls were taken down to use the stone for something else. Now people have returned to the castle and have repaired part of it to make it livable again. The church has regained it's function and a small village is growing in an around the ruins. Here two different pictures showing the change through the ages: (click for a bigger version) All the pictures of all six stages Stage five on Brickshelf Stage five on Flickr
  11. Thanks Teddy, the flying guy is someone testing out his home-made rocket transport machine
  12. Thanks! Stage five will not be quite glorious I do not rebuild every stage as it would take way to much time and bricks to do so. It would be nice to see al the stages next to eachother, but that would only be possible with a smaller MOC. This is the last stage of the castle, i won't make a futuristic stage because i don't have the right parts for that, and i really feel like building something else than this project now. (I will make one more stage, nr 5) There is a close-up of that somewhere in the gallery. It's supposed to look like a 'modern' tree, that's why it looks so boring.
  13. The castle has been restored in the 19th century to live in, but now it belongs to the government and has been opened for visitors. You may have noticed there is no stage 5, that is because i decided to make this stage first. More pictures on Flickr Brickshelf gallery
  14. Mmmmm Chrooooome! A band of robbers tries to steal the knight's shiny sword.
  15. Finally a dwarves battlepack! This makes collecting dwarves a lot easier and cheaper
  16. My second battles contest entry. The villagers defend their homes and belongings from the pillaging Bhurths. Some pictures on Flickr All the pictures on Brickshelf
  17. Thanks everyone! I have no idea who used that first, but i'm definitely not the first person to make ladders that way. I'll have to destroy it, because i used almost all my bricks to make it. otherwise i can't build anything new, and usually my newer MOCs are better than the ones i built before them. There would probably not be any hoardings on a castle like this because the machicolations have the same function as hoardings. It is a burned building.
  18. Here is my siege version of hrothingas castle for the battles contest at Classic-Castle: Some pictures on Flickr All the pictures on brickshelf
  19. A replica of the castle on the moon? I will probably make one stage of the castle in the present time, and i might make one of the future if i feel like it and have enough bricks. most of the legs that are upside-down are attached wit technic bricks and half-pins, but some are attached differently because there isn't space on both side of the window.
  20. Thanks for the comments! take a look at this picture: LINK That would be the most expensive set LEGO has ever sold No, i prefer a nice outside over a nice interior, and i don't have enough bricks to make both with a castle this big. I posted a picture showing that technique at brickshelf and flickr a while ago: LINK. It is 76x80 studs. The siege version of this stage will be finished soon!
  21. Thanks everyone! Yes it is.
  22. I've finally finished stage four of my castle evolution project. It took quite a long time because i had forgotten the gatehouse at a show, but since I'm going to make a battle scene with this castle for the battles contest at C-C i had to build a new one because the contest ends in a few weeks, and i fortunately had enough pieces. The new one actually looks much better than the old one. More pictures at flickr [stage 1] [stage 2] [stage 3]
  23. I couldn't make them because i don't have the right hair pieces, but i don't have enough different dresses for them either. I used all the different types i have for these figures. That doesn't mean she can't wear red clothes I unfortunately don't have that hair piece, but i agree that would look better. I disagree about the sword though, Callandor looks like it's made out of crystal, not gold
  24. Thanks. I used the chrome sword because it looks a bit like crystal because the chrome has chipped off the blade. I'm not sure about the color of Lan's clothes, but i don't remember anything about him wearing dark clothes.
  25. I was inspired by Duke's Tar Valon MOC and made some of the characters of The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan: There are some characters missing, i couldn't make those because i don't have the right parts yet. A group of Aiel warriors: I recommend the books for everyone who hasn't read them yet, they are really great.
