  1. you and me. My girl friend just green lighted me 6 months in advance to buy one of everything.
  2. I bought a star wars set 8038 from my local TRU for 40% off due to signing issue. The sign said "all legos 40% off" they also gave me a free snowman poly bag 3008. This offer was only supposed to be for some city and adventure sets. They still gave me the discount. So check your local TRU if they have the same signing issue this is a chance to get some stuff you have been holding off on due to cost.
  3. Have you tried sites like shapeways.com they make 3D CAD models from concepts and could help you make your ideas a reality. There is some people on there already designing lego elements you could contact for help. If you got them produced I would buy them for sure. the gun options for space are always welcome.
  4. I bought the wall decal for my piercing station like a month ago. its pretty awesome.
  5. I loved Blacktron 2 it was a big one when I was a kid I am 30 so I was at my silver age if you will of collecting I mostly played and I remember playing with Blacktron and Space police 2 for hours. I must have saved the galaxy every day after school. this is making me kinda misty eyed. I should call my mom and tell her thanks for buying my Legos when I was a kid. I still own a pretty good collection of Blacktron 2 sets along with space police 2 6957-1 solar snooper complete and some Mtron. I know I had more Mtron but lost much of my original collection through my dark age in my 20s when girls and partying was way more important to me.
  6. I want 1 of everything and like 10 of some! The minotaur is my fave so far, its head piece is just great. Its nice to see TLG breaking the head mold more and more with sets like alien invaders and the collectable series. I have been trying to come up with some ideas about how to make my minotaurs look different in a skirmisher group. The roman soldier and Celtic battler come in a close second and tie. I have a spartan so adding about 10 roman soldiers I will have a phalanx. They will make nice city guard. The battler is just a great fig for adding another face in the fantasy city plus the sword I hope is unique mold. It looks like it could be the same as the gladiator but I am not sure. I believe he would be a great berserker for you viking fans. Its really possible to have a full lego fantasy style battle now genies, orks, trolls, minotaurs, dwarfs, and an elf. I also had the idea of turning the greys alien into a slave race for the alien invader baddies adding to their numbers. I am excited about the possibilities. In the end I will be searching for 10 roman soldiers, 10 minotaurs, 4 grey aliens, 2 Celtic battlers, 2 genie, and 1 of everything else.
  7. picked up like 4 of these I agree its free lego and they are cool sets
  8. I agree and also TLG has a non compete clause in there licensing agreements to not release sets that might take away from the licensed product line. hence why they havnt had a sci-fi style set like blacktron except a short run of space police (I am not sure how they were able to release this line while under the agreement) since Star Wars.
  9. I have seen some at my local target and TRU
  10. this is really some awesome work I am impressed sir
  11. I have gotten amazing deals cuz of craigslist. I would never discount it.
  12. What you must have been skipping dont you remember the Teacher telling you about how Abe Lincoln wanted to use the "One Ring" to beat Napoleon but Brian Boitano came and destroyed it.
  13. Dont speak german. Welcome!
  14. I love the idea. The Fallout franchise has been one of my top favorites for a long time. great work!

    LEGO TATTOO!

I am that type of guy. I played a a couple hardcore bands since high school and am curently in a punk band called A New Hope. I have gauged ears and I am sleeved in tattoos (sleeved means having tattoos that cover my arms like sleeves from wrist to shoulder) and have a lot of my body covered. my job really doesn't care since I work in a tattoo shop and go to college.

    LEGO TATTOO!

I have seen that one and love it I already have a stormtrooper helmet with crossbones on my stomach so another would be overkill. I do want to get a full minifig thou
  21. I have two kids 6 and 9 and I do let them play with my collection. My daughter who is 9 has shown real skill in building sets by following instructions and being focused on the task. My son has had trouble focusing in school and on set projects and has had a rougher time with them. Lego time is a big part of my family and my girlfriend has even gotten into collecting with a big interest in harry potter range. Every Sunday we build a new set as a family normally just a small one but it fosters that family time in a shared interest. When it comes to rules consistency and continuity is key. I set clear boundaries with the Legos and reinforce them with punishment of not being able to play with them when the boundaries are broken. Some boundaries I suggest are limiting minifigs and their utensils (i.e. weapons, tools, saddles). I let them play with 4 minifigs and one utensil each. Also built large sets are to not be taken apart and when they do break they need to tell me. All Legos must be picked up after use or if they are moving onto a different task. Limit where they play in their rooms unsupervised will result in lost pieces and/or broken sets. These are just some basic rules that make it easy to enforce and comply. I love Legos and my kids and love to share my hobby and passion with them. As result of their interest in playing with Legos I can buy more of them with out hearing about it from my girlfriend and family buy more of them for us to build. Its like I get to buy Legos for them and I end up with more. SCORE!!!
  22. No licensing is done around the time they start post production. so about now is right to get the public domain info out. It would make sense to here about optioning it around march. TLG would have per-production models to show what they have planed for the license when they try to option it.
  23. awesome! I think I am ready to start building getting everything ordered now. I will post my results soon. thank you all for the help you have given I might make two and give it out to someone randomly that posted in this thread for the help. figured I should build two to get it right anyway.
  24. This is a beautiful piece and very inspiring thank you for sharing it.
  25. Hasbro gained the licenses and optioned it to TLG for construction toys a field they dont produce in. there is a remote chance they will again option the licenses with TLG but they could go with other manufactures as well like mega blocks . There will with out a doubt be a bidding war on the license. its a way that companies recoup cost of the original license and can in some cases eclipse the actual cost of the original license. best course is to wait and talk about what are some things you would love to see happen with the license if TLG gets it. I am sure TLG looks at these forums for information a common practice in the digital age. this practice is called forum and social network mining. I agree and disagree respectfully. I am not trying to rock the boat or rub people wrong with that statement. Just pointing out my knowledge in license issues since I have studied them in a marketing course for college. I am a mass communications major at University and my focus is marketing and advertising, I have only a year and semester to graduate. I have an understanding on how public domain information on licensing works though I will fully admit its just an understanding not a working knowledge like a lawyer might have. I do think this is the proper forum to discuss how absolutely amazing a LOTR or Hobbit license would be but I do think that its not the place to argue the point. I will eat a large piece of humble pie if they do and buy everything I can get my hands on.
