    I wouldn't worry too much about historical accuracy when it comes to this contest. Pirates fans can be very particular about those things and the terminology, period accuracy, colors and whatnot but TLG doesn't which is why El Dorado isn't just plain grey bricks and Barracuda is an engineering miracle lol as long as you stick to their style and lore and make the set fun you have delivered on one of the things the contest asks of you and you my friend delivered!

    I think what really set you apart is that you were the first to go for a set that wasn't strictly Pirates which shows you really thought outside the box. I've also think you nailed the remake style TLG is using for Pirates and the prints and sails show you put a lot of effort in this.

    I agree with those saying there should be more slots for voting, 4 or 5 seems ideal given the amount of entries in the contest and gives more people a chance. However I'm sure it will probably result in more ties which may prolong the voting period. I'm not sure about removing the ability to vote for yourself, I personally wouldn't vote for myself but I'm sure a lot of people would because let's face it a lot of entries are at a disadvantage due to the date they were posted at or because of other great entries getting more attention.

    That's perfectly understandable matey, it's your build your rules! My suggestion is mainly due to the fact TLG doesn't really care about lore or period accuracy when it comes to colors, take the Barracuda in PoBB for example it's supposed to be parts of a shipwreck but they're all in mind condition. As far as the hull I suggested the hull pieces because gain TLG would probably use those in an official set a brickbuilt hull feels more like MOC territory. But again it's your build and you should do what you think is best for it! Btw I forgot to mention I really like how you designed the cabin section and it's windows, any interior shots?

    A pub! Amazing collaboration with your nephew matey, I've wanted a Pirate inn from TLG for so long and you both did a fine job on this MOC. I would only suggest perhaps making Camilla's quarters a bit smaller and revamping the second floor to have more tables for more drinking space haha! I also feel like TLG would break up the brown with more color like they did with PoBB, perhaps some yellow along the railing on the last floor or some other color? The comic book and lore is awesome I love when builds tell a tale and that was clearly important to both you, something I really appreciate.

    I love how imposing the she looks but must agree with everyone else, having the bright red and green would make her pop more and perhaps a bit more white along the edges. I feel like TLG would use regular hull pieces instead of going for the brickbuilt route but I understand this is your design and you probably can't change it now anyway but perhaps changing the color from sand to brown will make it more vibrant? The little island is a nice addition and is a foreboding foreshadowing of what will happen to the poor sod walking the plank!

    I was inactive for a while and I'm catching up now as we get close to the contest coming to an end. Firstly I get that a lot of folks felt discouraged when they saw your entry but a some of the criticism seems to be grasping at straws to me, especially when you kept improving it every time and it really paid off. Seeing all the updates just makes even more certain I'm looking at the winning entry here!

    I've just seen it now and wow I absolutely love it, I think it's my favorite from the smaller/medium sized set entries, perfectly captures the classic feel in the updated remake style TLG is currently using. The addition of the nest, seagull and all the new extra details like the tavern details and hidden treasure just make it even better for me. I don't really have any complaints so no suggestions for me just a bravo my friend, definitely in my top 3 entries!

    All the articulation takes away the charm of the classic and iconic minifigure design, it's not their fault of course as they can't simple steal Lego's design but I haven't really seen any alternative minifigure design that can compete with TLG.

    I'm glad you like it! When it comes to the minifigures it's actually the same characters that were in both sets with the female minifigure being the only new addition, this is so the two joined sets now have a tale to tell. I thought a lot about changing the colors on the raft, going back to black and whatnot but since everyone liked it I decided to keep it as it is, I would be curious to see what color pallete TLG goes for if they ever remake this set! I like the shark more since the original raft had a shark and he feels more menacing than the octopus. The spear is a good suggestion but unfortunately a bit late to add now, I think that piece fits the natives a bit more tho. Thank you for the praise! Not sure what you mean by a hut behind the boardwalk? I tried to keep the design as close to the original as I could and there's no hut in it but it's an interesting suggestion.

    Yes I don't care about any of these Pirate themed sets that aren't actually Pirates. I have the Pirate Ship Playground set and haven't even opened it, I'll probably sell it down the road. All I know is I would do ungodly things to see PoTC revived or a Black Pearl remake or an actual new lineup of Pirates sets. Imagine an Inn set or a brickbuilt Kraken, or a treasure island set... So many possibilities but unfortunately I also think we'll only be seeing more remakes aimed at adult collectors for a while.

    I had the Nexo Knights Aaron green legs in mind but I don't think the colors match either so it seems like the closest thing would be Sersi's legs but the print on those doesn't really fit with the Goblin torso print. If you have the 2001 Goblin legs than maybe a fix for the color disparity would be to replace the NWH Goblin arms with the 2001 Goblin arms to match the legs, the waist connector and hands color will match the torso. Since I don't really want to spend a bunch of money on an old Goblin minifigure or it's legs I'm thinking of going with a more simple approach and just replacing the hair piece with a purple hood as I think having that green-purple color scheme will make the minifigure pop more. Definitely hope we get those pieces in the future too but it doesn't really bother me, there is the leaked set with Lizard, Sandman and Electro coming in 2024 so maybe we'll get the arms then but I'll just be happy to finally get Lizard but I hope it's minifigure scaled instead of Hulk scaled but I'm not holding my breath.

    I got the No Way Home Final Battle set today as a late birthday present for myself and I love it! First of all love the Liberty Statue head build with the scaffolding, it's nice and tidy and a cool build to play around with and display the minifigures. Only wish the portal piece had a sticker with a different location. Love the Tobey and Andrew minifigures, Electro is pretty good too as well as Doc Ock aside from the grey coloring. MJ, Ned and Doctor Strange are serviceable. I will definitely grab a purple hood and different legs for the Green Goblin and a new bowl hairpiece for Doc Ock. A lot of people think the set leaves a lot to be desired but considering the minifigs you get, the piece count and just the overall value for the current price tag of 110€ and even lower since I got it for 104€ at a local shop I think this is a must get for any fan of MARVEL and the movie itself. Definitely an enjoyable experience building this one with No Way Home playing in the background reminiscing about the fantastic experience I had at the cinema and I can't wait to add Lizard to it when the new NWH set releases next year!

    I can't say I feel the same way because I never had any illusions about winning, it just became a fun little thing to participate in with my entry, I might update it just because I'm done with it anyway, I'm sure there will be more entries showing up that rival this one, but the whole concept and idea I think is just genius.

    Well there is no reason for me to update my entry anymore lol, this is just absolutely amazing sir! You nailed every aspect of this contest and the idea of building for a different faction was a genius move, hats off to you cause I'm pretty sure you're taking the fortress with ya!
