  1. Battinson-mobile: massive upgrade over the old one. Never much cared for the old one. Felt too chunky. Would’ve preferred a new cowl for the fig, but we all knew that wasn’t happening. Dawn of Garbage-mobile: kind of a lateral move from the old one. Better in some ways, worse in others. I never got the old one and this one is good enough to make me not bricklink it. Figure is alright. Batman and Robin and Governator-mobile: this one doesn’t quite work. I sympathize with the designers for having to get this thing to $30. Probably the best they could do given the constraints as well as the source material. The figure is BANGING though. Logo: Lol. Lmao, even.
  2. I know I’ll get hit with the nerd cannon™️ by people on here, but Batman and Robin Batmobile is just too close to the Forever one to get so soon. UCS Pattmobile? Feel like they’ll save that for Pt. II but LEGO hasn’t been very rational about the decisions they’ve made with DC recently.
  3. So which Batmobile are we thinking?
  4. Did…did something good just happen to this theme?
  5. Batwing with correct head is out there now
  6. These look about as good as we could hope for. Joker hair is such an improvement.
  7. God I hope not at this piece count. Would be weird to get a GCPD cruiser and no officer or Gordon either.
  8. I get that it’s fantasy at the end of the day, and that there’s no logic, but I do love the thought of Arkham guards being like “alright Scarecrow, you gotta wear the orange jumpsuit, but you can keep wearing the mask.”
  9. Yes, there will be a GWP with a third Officer Balls
  10. Pretty funny that the only new fig is Batwing of all characters. Pretty meh list overall. Nothing to get overly excited about (although I’m praying for a cool Scarecrow) but considering the state of the theme, I was expecting way worse.
  11. The theme's pretty damn dead but I'd still bet on a UCS BTAS Batmobile before we get an official funeral announcement.
  12. Oh yeah true. Comic-based Batcave wouldn’t completely shock me, but yeah. I think we’re in agreement.
  13. Yeah I mean not on the DC side. That’ll probably stay movies. I think they’d be willing to give generic Spidey sets a a go though.
  14. That’s what I’m saying though, I don’t think either cinematic universe is hitting the 2010’s heights again anytime soon, even if they’re well made films. Batman, Spiderman, *maybe* Superman can hit a billion dollars right now. Doomsday probably will out of sheer curiosity. But I think Disney+ has taken a large wind out of the box office sail for the mid-level projects. Just from a personal point of view, I only go to the theater for the big ones now, where in 2017 I was there for almost all of them.
  15. I think that would validate the current approach of putting out 1 or 2 higher quality Batman sets a year and calling it a day. I also don’t think one movie is gonna seriously change LEGO’s stance towards DC. If the rest of the DCU takes off then maybe, but I honestly think superhero movies have been passed by in the zeitgeist. Suspect the superheroes line is due to revert to something more comic based soon enough.
  16. The store shelves. Personally I think Batman will soldier on for a while under the “Superheroes” label. He’s a big enough draw and it doesn’t eat that much budget to have one marquee set a year from a Batman movie. And they can still do a true Batcave, as well as UCS versions of the BTAS Batmobile and “The Batman” one as well.
  17. I'm less concerned about the scale of the Batmobiles being uniform if they look good (in this case it's an unequivocal yes), and more annoyed that some come with display plates with vehicle info, some don't, and others just get whatever it is that this one comes with. "Batman Forever" lol. Just design them in the smallest form factor possible while still looking like the car from the film/show it comes from. Some can be done well at a minifig scale (BTAS, '66, etc) and some can't (The Batman one doesn't look like the one from the movie). Glad they wen't with this size here, I don't think they could've done it justice much smaller.
  18. It fits perfect in my LEGO Batmobile themed movie shelf so I'll be getting it. Can see why others don't want it though. Really should have been a UCS set (with a Riddler fig) as it's an interesting design that lends itself to a cool build. So I'm sure we'll get a UCS BTAS one instead that's bland as all hell.
  19. I just don't see LEGO going that detailed on what would be a narrow slice of the asylum. Although the piece count is a bit low, so I'm kind of worried for this one, especially if it has any sort of sidebuilds. I suppose it could utilize some big bricks for walls but something tells me this is X-Mansion scaled.
  20. Is the Batman Forever Batmobile still a June set? Haven't heard anything on that one in a while
  21. This set needed to be DC’s Daily Bugle or Avengers Tower, and I fear it’s going to be DC’s X-Mansion (fine, but kind of underwhelming for what it could’ve been). I would rather pay 400 or 500 and get way more. It’s not like I have to budget for other DC sets anyways.
  22. Not a great piece count, but I’ll take that and comic-based over a 4500 piece Batman Forever Arkham any day
  23. Anything north of ten and I think we can fairly safely rule out the Schumacher films. I feel like if it were those movies we’d get: -Batman -Robin -Batgirl -Riddler -Mr Freeze -Poison Ivy -Chase Meridian -Two Face -Gordon? Bane? And then maybe guards from there. But nearly all of those would require a lot of new torsos. Idk I just don’t see how they get a relatively accurate lineup over 8-9 minifigs
  24. There's way more of a chance it's based on Forever than the games. Latest rumor aside, if you had asked me a month ago what it would be based on I would say the order would go something like: 1.) BTAS 2. Comics 3.) Schumacher movies 4.) The games
  25. Part of me thinks it'll be BF based because that would be the dumbest possible thing, therefore the most likely thing LEGO would do. But part of me doesn't think that a $100 Batmobile would be on the same scale as a $400 building. Feels too big. Remember when everyone thought that the 89 Batmobile would be sold separate from the shadowbox? Maybe we're all just scarred from the Hulkbuster set.
