Looking at 1.5-2K USD in terms of estimation for Jerac's mighty fine MOC - been debating for some time now to build that. With this new UCS model - while its not as great? It's vastly cheaper.

While your debating price - it has more pieces than the Star Destroyer - minor detail. Seems a tad high - but I get why it is.

Love it! -
You should consider using LED Lightsabers - would improve this greatly. https://www.lightmybricks.com/products/led-lego-star-wars-lightsaber-light-blue?_pos=3&_sid=6b7d730fd&_ss=r https://www.lightmybricks.com/products/led-lego-star-wars-lightsaber-light-red?_pos=4&_sid=6b7d730fd&_ss=r Would really make this moc "pop" :)

The chiss books are "prequels" to the Thrawn Trilogy - his years in the Chiss Ascendancy - and its utterly insanely good. May even get inspired to make some Chiss ships ;) -

Timothy Zahn is literally the only thing giving legitimacy to the new timeline - I'd love to see him reintroduce the old time line books back in some how frankly. Also if you've not yet read the new Zahn books (Thrawn series - 6 of them) - highly recommend you do. :) -

Echoing the rest... never used Brickowl - well..actually I may have used them once. If I was going to order Lego's - I'd look at Lego's "pick a brick" to see if you can compete if you're having to buy bricks in bulk. (I'll warn you right now - they do not play nice when it comes to how they pack their product - makes counting a pain) Bircklink is next - but their web interface is complete trash. When it comes to fine tuning and ease of use in terms of shopping across multiple "Sellers" - you will find yourself taking your time cherry picking best options. Careful - you may find yourself ordering parts out of country - double check your work. The biggest problem with brick link is you may find your parts - but many sellers will have a minimum buy order requirement to meet - shipping can also be a potential curve ball. Or you end up buying from multiple sellers. The trick is to have as few sellers as possible - makes things simple. Lastly - Ebay - Ebay is streamlined obviously - but your selection will be limited and you will be forced to buy more than you need (specially if your talking onsey's twoseys) Generally I use them as a last resort. If your going to do this - Build your models out in Stud.io FIRST. Then export a bricklink XML list so you give yourself a checklist (CAREFUL - make sure to audit your parts as things get funny funny in Stud.IO sometimes - specially with complex models) At least this way you know what you need and how many. Also buy used - 9 times out of 10 you will find its just fine with minor denting. Occasionally I encounter a worn part (hinge/etc.) For rare parts - seek out a local shop if you can - may be cheaper by the time your done. You get what you put into it really. Last piece of advice - when you get your order - count your bricks - inventory them out - mistakes will be made - don't wait too long on getting back to your sellers to ensure they know they shorted you - if it happens. Human hands count those parts. Its bound to be a thing.

Use Stud.io - there's no easy way to do this other than building it yourself.

As and ye shall receive -> Its basically done - just need QA/clean up - I have it proudly on display in my room. :) EDIT: course I just woke up and now realized you found it. But yeah - this project was the project from "Hell" 2000 USD later - felt like I went to college and came out with a BS in Lego Engineering. I have yet to find a TIE/d that even comes close to the detail and design of this thing. And I owe it to a few individuals who where nice enough to solve some nasty puzzles. Need to get it cleaned up and published. I'm thinking of submitting it to Lego for review as anyone who see's it - goes slack jawed lol.
