  1. I mean, it makes sense that a set based on the Titanic was going to be titanic in size. And for the amount of detail they’re going to have to put in to out do the Cobi models would be enormous otherwise they wouldn’t bother competing with an already established market. Either way, with that sort of piece count I’m starting to wonder if it’s just the ships exterior itself, or if we’re building a dockside incorporated as a stand or even some interior. Possibly even the new Lego light bricks will be included to light the model up. I can’t wait to see the official pictures!!
  2. BREAKING NEWS GUYS!!! According to Briqfoundation, the Lego Titanic set is releasing as an early VIP release on October 20th!!!! No pictures yet, but I’m sure other channels will report on this in the coming hours and who knows, we might be a week or two from an official Lego announcement. Keep your eyes peeled everyone 😁 PS that’s not the official set in the picture on his account, it’s a placeholder from a non Lego brand Titanic. I’ve tried to show a screenshot on here but it won’t allow me. Check out his Instagram and don’t forget to give him a like and a follow 😊 EDIT: $629.99 US price, 12,000+ pieces. This set will be huge!!!
  3. It is indeed a good sign :D not much longer to go now. Can’t believe we’ve been waiting for a leak or official confirmation since January this year! It’s been a long time coming haha
  4. It could be something like a miniature Titanic build, or it could be a micro sale build of the SS Nomadic which is the Titanic and Olympics tender ship which is permantley docked at Belfast as a tourist attraction so it would make sense. I know people keep suggesting an iceberg but in all honesty that’s just insensitive and ridiculous and TLG would never even consider it (the backlash they’d get for an already controversial set would be enormous). So yeah I reckon a miniature build of the ship itself or one of the tenders :)
  5. Do we know yet if Lego will do the VIP weekend the week before Black Friday like they did last year? That’s when they had the colloseum up for early purchase along with the GWP and double VIP points. I’m kind of hoping we get the same treatment for the Titanic release 😁
  6. I think the AT-AT is set for early November release, I don’t think it would affect sales of the Titanic and vice versa because a lot of buyers will more than likely be fans of one or the other.
  7. I’m feeling impatient too, ever since the rumour was announced in January 🤣 if it’s set for release Black Friday then I’d assume Lego would officially announce it a few weeks before, so maybe second or third week of October? Though I feel images will leak much sooner than that so we’ll get our first glimpse of the set towards the end of September maybe? Yeah I would probably build my own Nomadic too to be fair 😊
  8. Good point. The Titanic was finished in the Thompson Dry Dock as well whilst in Belfast just before she did her sea trials and sailed to Southampton so I wouldn’t be surprised if either were a possibility (Belfast or Southampton). And imagine if the SS Nomadic came as a GWP - that would be awesome. Or even if the Tender ship came inside the set itself! Just wish we had some leaked images of the set but it’s still early days. Yeah I’ve been to Belfast twice and going for a third time in April for the 110th anniversary of the Titanic’s voyage and it is a remarkable place seeped in years of history everywhere you turn. It’s a shame they didn’t restore the shipyards into a walking museum experience but what they’ve done with Titanic Belfast and the Slipways is still a sight to behold. I highly recommend a visit if you haven’t done so already :)
  9. Hello, I’m new to this community so it’s nice to meet you all. I’ve been following this thread since it started because the Titanic set will also be a day one purchase for me. First thing I wanted to say is VanIslandLego replied to one of my comments on a YouTube video yesterday (where I asked about the Titanic set) and they have assured me that our patience will pay off and it’s definitely coming. I’ve also read on numerous threads that the rumoured release date of this set will be November, specifically for the Black Friday event, which means we won’t get any information or further leaks until September/October time. Second thing I wanted to say is it could be possible that with the rumoured high price and brick count that would accompany that price tag, that perhaps were not just building the titanic, but maybe a segment of the Belfast shipyard as well? It’s a way to be respectful of why a set like this can be accepted without controversy by having its inception be the very ship being built? So you’d have the full ship, but rather than a stand it’s actually situated in the Thompson Dry Dock where she was fitted out? Or even the slipway with some gantries present? It’s just an idea I had I wanted to share :)
