  1. I like the Pokeball, but will wait to see the UK price and likely a big discount before picking it up. I saw the dollar cost has gone to $300 which is crazy. Its clear their strategy with Pokemon is to bring out the high end sets first and then bring out the smaller ones later. I'm happy to wait and see what the first year or two's set range is before buying stuff. I'd be surprised if anything in the Pokeball set stayed exclusive so there will be other chances to get the figs and pokemon.
  2. I did too. The rowlett looked great too, but lots of pieces. I imagine it'll be the gyrados if it goes solely off fan votes. I'm hoping they'll do a promo card of the set too. Though that would bring the scalpers.
  3. That Arcanine looks great. Hope it holds up at other angles.
  4. Thanks for your reply. Smyths used to do good discounts on big Lego sets but they seem to have dried up. I remember getting Ninjago city for 25% off! I got 25% off Tudor Corner from Argos too recently. I wonder why the NHM is exclusive to Smyths? I'll probably do the same as you, just wait for double VIP points and a decent GWP. I'm half tempted to wait and see if it's in the Black Friday discounts as the sets nearing their end of life often are. But then that runs the risk of missing it all together....
  5. Has anyone seen a UK discount on the Natural History Museum before? I can't recall one. I know it retires this year so just planning the best time to pick it up
  6. Looking forward to seeing the entries. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up making a tcg card based on the set
  7. I didn't have much interest in the Helicarier when it was rumoured, but I do like it now it's been revealed. If it was half the price I'd be tempted but I can't justify it for that price. The figs are good, hope they show up elsewhere.
  8. £146 off the big Charizard/venusaur/blastoise set on Amazon already. Feels like a more reasonable price. Be interesting how much and how often these are discounted
  9. Yeah I dont like any of them. My wallet is relieved
  10. Sounds good, looking forward to seeing this one. Must be pretty big for that price, and to fit a scene in.
  11. Saw these figures on bricklink so looks like they went past 150,000 sales. 42,000 / 42,000 / Alchemist’s Shop 40,000 / 40,000 / Sushi Restaurant 40,000 / 40,000 / Privateer Frigate Fortuna 16,174 / 30,000 / W.A.L.T. 14,057 / 30,000 / Antique Collection TOTAL Units Sold = 152,231 I was tempted by the sushi restaurant but didn't pull the trigger. If fomo kicks in I'll get it on ebay. From what I've seen most of the BDP sets don't seem to increase massively on the aftermarket.
  12. looks like Sushi, Alchemist and Fortuna have sold out, in the UK at least
  13. What are the three bigfigs? I can only think of the troll and hagrid
  14. Looks like the funded bars have gone this time. All but the antique collection just say funded 30 minutes in. I'm most tempted by the sushi restaurant, but think I'll skip all of them this time around. Not enough space and can't justify the spend.
  15. A digital moc up of the east wing has been shared by Unibricks on instagram. Looking forward to seeing that one revealed
  16. I mentioned a cmf as its talked about in the bricklink article. They've given a potential lineup of 12
  17. I'm on the fence with it. I want to love it as the book is so good, but I'm not a fan of the scale, especially in relation to the huge stand
  18. Looking forward to seeing what they do with this. Our family really enjoys the film. Brickset had a good list of potential sets. https://brickset.com/article/129874/lego-kpop-demon-hunters-what-could-the-sets-be I'd like a CMF just as a good way to get the figures.
  19. This sounds like you are buying sets you actively don't like just because of the theme? That seems crazy to me.
  20. If you regret it why not just buy some other themes? I bought most marvel sets for a few years but like you say there havent been many good sets providing anything new lately. I've bought some ninjago, bricklink designer programme sets and some ideas and they are great. My son has really got into Harry potter lately so weve been building some of those together. I'll come back to marvel if there are some amazing sets and/or doomsday is good.
  21. I'll be the first one to say I'm not a huge fan. I think it's too white so the outside looks monotonous. I like the figs and the throne room at the back but the view from the front isn't doing it for me. I love the books and films of LOTR but have held off from the Lego sets. Now seeing this, I'll pick up Rivendell and not worry about 'completing' by getting the others. I don't think they'll display that well all together.
  22. Its on reddit, if you search Lego Minas Tirith, or join R/Legoleak it's on there
  23. The difference is when the pre order came back for a second time, the GWP wasn't available. The numbers of available GWPs was in the T&Cs so I think it's likely they sold that many sets (over 32 million dollars in about 12 hours!). Then the second preorder round was presumably a bit of extra stock. I suppose it's the GWP that went out of stock, rather than the set itself. Preorder is unavailable again, at least in the UK Yeah, Jang discussed that in his video. This was the Brickset comment that he referenced which seemed pretty spot on:
  24. Preorders for the big 3 set are exhausted on the US, UK and AUS lego sites.
